Isaiah 52

1 Rise up, Rise up! Clothe yourself in strength, O Zion! Put on the garments of your glory, O Jerusalem, the city of the Holy One! For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer pass through you.	1 Sorgi, sorgi, rivestiti della tua forza, o Sion, vestiti a festa, o Gerusalemme, città del Santo; perchè l'incirconciso e l'immondo non ti attraverseranno più.
2 Shake yourself from the dust! Arise and sit up, O Jerusalem! Loose the chains from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!	2 Scuoti la tua polvere; sorgi; mettiti a sedere, o Gerusalemme, scuoti dal tuo collo il giogo, o schiava figlia di Sion;
3 For thus says the Lord: You were sold for nothing, and you will be redeemed without money.	3 perchè così parla il Signore: « Senza prezzo siete stati venduti, e senza danaro sarete riscattati.
4 For thus says the Lord God: My people descended into Egypt, in the beginning, in order to sojourn there. But the Assyrian oppressed them, without any cause at all.	4 Ecco infatti quanto dice il Signore Dio: — Da principio il mio popolo discese in Egitto per starvi come forestiero, poi, senza alcun motivo, lo maltrattò Assur.
5 And now, what is left for me here, says the Lord? For my people have been taken away without cause. Their lords treat them unjustly, says the Lord. And my name is being continually blasphemed all day long.	5 Ed ora che ci faccio io qui — dice il Signore — dopo che il mio popolo è stato menato schiavo senza ragione? I suoi padroni l'opprimono — dice il Signore — e di continuo, per tutto il giorno è bestemmiato il mio nome.
6 Because of this, my people will know my name, in that day. For it is I myself who is speaking. Behold, I am here.	6 Per questo il mio popolo conoscerà il mio nome, in quel giorno, perchè io stesso, quello che parlava, ecco sono presente ».
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger and the preacher of peace! Announcing good and preaching peace, they are saying to Zion, “Your God will reign!”	7 Quanto son belli, sui monti, i piedi del messaggero, del messaggero di pace, di colui che annunzia la felicità e predica la salute, di colui che dice a Sion: « Regnerà il tuo Dio ».
8 It is the voice of your watchmen. They have lifted up their voice. They will praise together. For they will see eye to eye, when the Lord converts Zion.	8 Voce delle tue sentinelle: esse alzano la voce, per cantare insieme inni di lode, perchè vedranno coi loro occhi quando il Signore farà tornare Sion.
9 Be glad and rejoice together, O deserts of Jerusalem! For the Lord has consoled his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem.	9 Rallegratevi, unitevi a cantare inni, o rovine di Gerusalemme, perchè il Signore ha consolato il suo popolo, ha redenta Gerusalemme.
10 The Lord has prepared his holy arm, in the sight of all the Gentiles. And all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.	10 Il Signore ha pronto il suo santo braccio davanti agli occhi di tutte le nazioni: tutte le parti della terra vedranno la salvezza del nostro Dio.
11 Depart, depart, get out of here! Do not be willing to touch what is polluted. Go out from her midst! Be cleansed, you who bear the vessels of the Lord.	11 Partite, partite, uscite di là, non toccate ciò che è impuro: uscitene di mezzo, purificatevi, voi che portate i vasi del Signore.
12 For you will not go out in a tumult, nor will you take flight in a hurry. For the Lord will precede you, and the God of Israel will gather you.	12 Voi non partirete in disordine, non andrete via fuggendo, perchè andrà dinanzi a voi il Signore, vi adunerà il Dio d'Israele.
13 Behold, my servant will understand; he will be exalted and lifted up, and he will be very sublime.	13 Ecco che il mio servitore sarà intelligente, sarà esaltato, inalzato e molto sublime.
14 Just as they were stupefied over you, so will his countenance be without glory among men, and his appearance, among the sons of men.	14 Come molti si son maravigliati di te! Sarà disprezzato il suo aspetto tra gli uomini, e la sua faccia tra i figli degli uomini.
15 He will sprinkle many nations; kings will close their mouth because of him. And those to whom he was not described, have seen. And those who have not heard, have considered.	15 Egli aspergerà molte genti, dinanzi a lui i re staranno a bocca chiusa, perchè lo vedranno, e nessuno aveva loro raccontato di lui, lo contempleranno, e non ne avevan sentito parlare.
