Isaiah 27

1 In that day, the Lord will visit, with his harsh and great and strong sword, against Leviathan, the barred serpent, and against Leviathan, the twisted serpent, and he will slay the whale that is in the sea.	1 Ce jour-là, Yahvé châtiera avec son épée dure, grande et forte, Léviathan, le serpent fuyard,Léviathan, le serpent tortueux; il tuera le dragon qui habite la mer.
2 In that day, the vineyard of pure wine will sing to them.	2 Ce jour-là, la vigne magnifique chantez-la!
3 I am the Lord, who watches over it. I will suddenly give drink to it. I will watch over it, night and day, lest perhaps someone visit against it.	3 Moi, Yahvé, j'en suis le gardien, de temps en temps, je l'irrigue; pour qu'on ne lui fasse pas de mal,nuit et jour je la garde. --
4 Indignation is not mine. Who will be a thorn and a brier to me in battle? I will advance against them. I set them on fire together.	4 Je n'ai plus de muraille. Qui va me réduire en ronces et en épines? -- Dans la guerre, je la foulerai, jela brûlerai en même temps.
5 Or will he, instead, take hold of my strength? Will he make peace with me? Will she make peace with me?	5 Ou bien que l'on fasse appel à ma protection, que l'on fasse la paix avec moi, la paix, qu'on la fasseavec moi.
6 As they advance with violence against Jacob, Israel will flourish and spring forth, and they will fill the face of the world with offspring.	6 A l'avenir Jacob s'enracinera, Israël bourgeonnera et fleurira, la face du monde se couvrira de récolte.
7 Has he struck him with the scourge that he himself used to strike others? Or has he killed in the manner that he himself used to kill his victims?	7 L'a-t-il frappé comme avaient frappé ceux qui le frappaient? A-t-il assassiné comme avaient assassinéses assassins?

For the sacred groves and the shrines shall not stand.	9 Car ainsi sera pardonnée la faute de Jacob, tel sera le fruit qu'il recueillera en renonçant à son péchéquand toutes les pierres de l'autel seront mises en pièces comme des pierres à chaux, quand les Ashéras et lesbrûle-parfums ne seront plus debout.
10 For the fortified city will be desolate. The shining city will be abandoned and will be left behind like a desert. In that place, the calf will pasture, and in that place, he will lie down, and he will feed from its summits.	10 Car la ville fortifiée est devenue une solitude, abandonnée, délaissée comme un désert, où les veauxpaissent, où ils se couchent en détruisant les branchages.
11 Its harvest will be crushed by dryness. Women will arrive and teach it, for it is not a wise people. Because of this, he who made it will not take pity on it, and he who formed it will not spare it.	11 Quand sèchent les branches on les brise, des femmes viennent et y mettent le feu. Or ce peuple n'estpas intelligent, aussi son créateur n'aura pas pitié de lui, celui qui l'a modelé ne lui fera pas grâce.
12 And this shall be: in that day, the Lord will strike, from the channel of the river, even to the torrent of Egypt. And you shall be gathered together, one by one, O sons of Israel.	12 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, Yahvé fera le battage, depuis le cours du Fleuve jusqu'au torrentd'Egypte, et vous, vous serez glanés un à un, enfants d'Israël.
13 And this shall be: in that day, a noise will be made with a great trumpet. And those who had been lost will approach from the land of the Assyrians, with those who had been outcasts in the land of Egypt. And they will adore the Lord, on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.	13 Et il arrivera qu'en ce jour-là, on sonnera du grand cor, alors viendront ceux qui se meurent au paysd'Assur, et ceux qui sont bannis au pays d'Egypte, ils adoreront Yahvé sur la montagne sainte, à Jérusalem.
