Isaiah 11

1 And a rod will go forth from the root of Jesse, and a flower will ascend from his root.	1 - E uscirà un rampollo dal ceppo di Jesse, e un germoglio spunterà dalla sua radice.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and fortitude, the spirit of knowledge and piety.	2 E si poserà su di lui lo spirito del Signore, spirito di sapienza e d'intelletto, spirito di consiglio e di fortezza, spirito di scienza e di pietà,
3 And he will be filled with the spirit of the fear of the Lord. He will not judge according to the sight of the eyes, nor reprove according to the hearing of the ears.	3 e lo spirito del timore del Signore lo riempirà. Egli non giudicherà per veduta degli occhi, nè per udita degli orecchi, sentenzierà:
4 Instead, he will judge the poor with justice, and he will reprove the meek of the earth with fairness. And he will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and he will slay the impious with the spirit of his lips.	4 ma giudicherà con giustizia i deboli, e sentenzierà con rettitudine in favore dei poveri della terra: percuoterà la terra colla verga della sua bocca, e collo spirito delle sue labbra farà morire l'empio.
5 And justice will be the belt around his waist. And faith will be the warrior’s belt at his side.	5 E la giustizia sarà cingolo dei suoi lombi, e la fede cintura dei suoi fianchi.
6 The wolf will dwell with the lamb; and the leopard will lie down with the kid; the calf and the lion and the sheep will abide together; and a little boy will drive them.	6 E il lupo farà dimora coll'agnelloe il leopardo s'accovaccerà col capretto, e il vitello e il leone e la pecora staranno assieme e un piccolo fanciullo li condurrà.
7 The calf and the bear will feed together; their young ones will rest together. And the lion will eat straw like the ox.	7 Il vitello coll'orso pascoleranno; si sdraieranno assieme i loro nati, e il leone mangerà paglia come il bue.
8 And a breastfeeding infant will play above the lair of the asp. And a child who has been weaned will thrust his hand into the den of the king snake.	8 E il bambino da latte si trastullerà sopra il covo dell'aspide, e nella buca del basilisco introdurrà la mano un bambino appena slattato.
9 They will not harm, and they will not kill, on all my holy mountain. For the earth has been filled with the knowledge of the Lord, like the waters covering the sea.	9 Non nuoceranno e non uccideranno più su tutto il mio santo monte, perchè la terra è ripiena della scienza del Signore, come il mare, delle acque che lo ricoprono.
10 In that day, the root of Jesse, who stands as a sign among the people, the same the Gentiles shall beseech, and his sepulcher will be glorious.	10 In quel giorno la stirpe di Jesse, che sta per insegna ai popoli, essa le nazioni ricercheranno, e sarà il suo sepolcro glorioso.
11 And this shall be in that day: the Lord will send forth his hand a second time to take possession of the remnant of his people who will be left behind: from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.	11 E avverrà in quel giorno, che il Signore rimetterà mano una seconda volta a riconquistare il rimanente del suo popolo che sarà scampato dagli Assiri, e dall'Egitto, e da Petros, e dall'Etiopia e dall'Elam, e da Sennaar, e da Emat e dalle isole del mare.
12 And he will lift up a sign to the nations, and he will gather together the fugitives of Israel, and he will collect the dispersed of Judah from the four regions of the earth.	12 E alzerà un'insegna alle nazioni, e riunirà i profughi d'Israele, e raccoglierà i dispersi di Giuda dai quattro angoli della terra.
13 And the envy of Ephraim will be taken away, and the enemies of Judah will perish. Ephraim will not be a rival to Judah, and Judah will not fight against Ephraim.	13 E la gelosia di Efraim sarà tolta, e saranno troncate le ostilità di Giuda: Efraim non sarà più geloso di Giuda, e Giuda non combatterà più Efraim.
14 And they will fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines through the sea; together they will plunder the sons of the east. Idumea and Moab will be under the rule of their hand, and the sons of Ammon will be obedient.	14 E piomberanno addosso ai Filistei dal mare e insieme deprederanno i figli dell'Oriente, Edom e Moab staranno ai loro cenni, e i figli di Ammon ai loro ordini obbediranno.
15 And the Lord will desolate the tongue of the sea of Egypt. And he will lift up his hand over the river, with the strength of his Spirit; and he will strike it, in its seven streams, so that they may cross through it in their shoes.	15 E il Signore farà scomparire la lingua del mare d'Egitto, e nel suo possente soffio, alzerà la sua mano contro il fiume e lo percuoterà nei suoi sette rami, sì da transitarvi colle scarpe ai piedi.
16 And there will be a way for the remnant of my people, who will be left behind by the Assyrians: just as there was for Israel in the day that he ascended from the land of Egypt.	16 E vi sarà una strada al rimanente del mio popolo che sarà rimasto salvo dagli Assiri, come fu ad Israele nel giorno che salì dall'Egitto.
