CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINLXX
A Psalm of David. Of the sons of Jonadab and the former captives. In you, O Lord, I have hoped; do not let me be brought to ruin forever.1 τω δαυιδ υιων ιωναδαβ και των πρωτων αιχμαλωτισθεντων ο θεος επι σοι ηλπισα μη καταισχυνθειην εις τον αιωνα
Free me by your justice, and rescue me. Incline your ear to me, and save me.2 εν τη δικαιοσυνη σου ρυσαι με και εξελου με κλινον προς με το ους σου και σωσον με
Be a God of protection and a place of strength for me, so that you may accomplish my salvation. For you are my firmament and my refuge.3 γενου μοι εις θεον υπερασπιστην και εις τοπον οχυρον του σωσαι με οτι στερεωμα μου και καταφυγη μου ει συ
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, and from the hand of the unjust and those who act against the law.4 ο θεος μου ρυσαι με εκ χειρος αμαρτωλου εκ χειρος παρανομουντος και αδικουντος
For you, O Lord, are my patience: my hope from my youth, O Lord.5 οτι συ ει η υπομονη μου κυριε κυριος η ελπις μου εκ νεοτητος μου
In you, I have been confirmed from conception. From my mother’s womb, you are my protector. In you, I will sing forever.6 επι σε επεστηριχθην απο γαστρος εκ κοιλιας μητρος μου συ μου ει σκεπαστης εν σοι η υμνησις μου δια παντος
I have become to many as if I were a portent, but you are a strong helper.7 ωσει τερας εγενηθην τοις πολλοις και συ βοηθος κραταιος
Let my mouth be filled with praise, so that I may sing your glory, your greatness all day long.8 πληρωθητω το στομα μου αινεσεως οπως υμνησω την δοξαν σου ολην την ημεραν την μεγαλοπρεπειαν σου
Do not cast me off in the time of old age. Do not abandon me when my strength will fail.9 μη απορριψης με εις καιρον γηρους εν τω εκλειπειν την ισχυν μου μη εγκαταλιπης με
For my enemies have spoken against me. And those who watched for my soul have taken counsel as one,10 οτι ειπαν οι εχθροι μου εμοι και οι φυλασσοντες την ψυχην μου εβουλευσαντο επι το αυτο
saying: “God has abandoned him. Pursue and overtake him. For there is no one to rescue him.”11 λεγοντες ο θεος εγκατελιπεν αυτον καταδιωξατε και καταλαβετε αυτον οτι ουκ εστιν ο ρυομενος
O God, do not be far from me. O my God, provide for my assistance.12 ο θεος μη μακρυνης απ' εμου ο θεος μου εις την βοηθειαν μου προσχες
May they be confounded, and may they fail, who drag down my soul. Let them be covered with confusion and shame, who seek evils for me.13 αισχυνθητωσαν και εκλιπετωσαν οι ενδιαβαλλοντες την ψυχην μου περιβαλεσθωσαν αισχυνην και εντροπην οι ζητουντες τα κακα μοι
But I will always have hope. And I will add more to all your praise.14 εγω δε δια παντος ελπιω και προσθησω επι πασαν την αινεσιν σου
My mouth will announce your justice, your salvation all day long. For I have not known letters.15 το στομα μου εξαγγελει την δικαιοσυνην σου ολην την ημεραν την σωτηριαν σου οτι ουκ εγνων γραμματειας
I will enter into the powers of the Lord. I will be mindful of your justice alone, O Lord.16 εισελευσομαι εν δυναστεια κυριου κυριε μνησθησομαι της δικαιοσυνης σου μονου
You have taught me from my youth, O God. And so I will declare your wonders continuously,17 εδιδαξας με ο θεος εκ νεοτητος μου και μεχρι νυν απαγγελω τα θαυμασια σου
even in old age and with grey hairs. Do not abandon me, O God, while I announce your arm to every future generation: your power18 και εως γηρους και πρεσβειου ο θεος μη εγκαταλιπης με εως αν απαγγειλω τον βραχιονα σου παση τη γενεα τη ερχομενη την δυναστειαν σου και την δικαιοσυνην σου
and your justice, O God, even to the highest great things that you have done. O God, who is like you?19 ο θεος εως υψιστων α εποιησας μεγαλεια ο θεος τις ομοιος σοι
How great is the tribulation that you have revealed to me: very great and evil. And so, turning back, you have brought me to life, and you have led me back again from the abyss of the earth.20 οσας εδειξας μοι θλιψεις πολλας και κακας και επιστρεψας εζωοποιησας με και εκ των αβυσσων της γης παλιν ανηγαγες με
You have multiplied your magnificence. And so, turning back to me, you have consoled me.21 επλεονασας την μεγαλοσυνην σου και επιστρεψας παρεκαλεσας με και εκ των αβυσσων της γης παλιν ανηγαγες με
Therefore, I will confess your truth to you, with the instruments of the Psalter. O God, I will sing psalms to you with stringed instruments, O Holy One of Israel.22 και γαρ εγω εξομολογησομαι σοι εν σκευει ψαλμου την αληθειαν σου ο θεος ψαλω σοι εν κιθαρα ο αγιος του ισραηλ
My lips will exult, when I sing to you, and also my soul, which you have redeemed.23 αγαλλιασονται τα χειλη μου οταν ψαλω σοι και η ψυχη μου ην ελυτρωσω
And even my tongue will meditate on your justice all day long, when those who seek evils for me have been confounded and set in awe.24 ετι δε και η γλωσσα μου ολην την ημεραν μελετησει την δικαιοσυνην σου οταν αισχυνθωσιν και εντραπωσιν οι ζητουντες τα κακα μοι
