1 A Psalm of David. When he fled from the face of his son, Absalom.	1 Salmo di Davide, composto quando egli fuggi’ per cagione d’Absalom, suo figliuolo O SIGNORE, in quanto gran numero sono i miei nemici! Molti si levano contro a me.
2 Lord, why have those who trouble me been multiplied? Many rise up against me.	2 Molti dicono dell’anima mia: Non v’è salute alcuna appo Iddio per lui. Sela.
3 Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.”	3 Ma, Signore, tu sei uno scudo d’intorno a me; Tu sei la mia gloria, e quel che mi sollevi il capo
4 But you, Lord, are my supporter, my glory, and the one who raises up my head.	4 Io ho colla mia voce gridato al Signore, Ed egli mi ha risposto dal monte della sua santità. Sela.
5 I have cried out to the Lord with my voice, and he has heard me from his holy mountain.	5 Io mi son coricato, e ho dormito; Poi mi son risvegliato; perciocchè il Signore mi sostiene.
6 I have slept, and I have been stupefied. But I awakened because the Lord has taken me up.	6 Io non temerei di migliaia di popolo, Quando si fossero accampate contro a me d’ogn’intorno.
7 I will not fear the thousands of people surrounding me. Rise up, Lord. Save me, my God.	7 Levati, Signore; salvami, Dio mio; perciocchè tu hai percossa la mascella di tutti i miei nemici; Tu hai rotti i denti degli empi.
8 For you have struck all those who oppose me without cause. You have broken the teeth of sinners.	8 Il salvare appartiene al Signore; La tua benedizione è sopra il tuo popolo. Sela
9 Salvation is of the Lord, and your blessing is upon your people.
