1 “You shall also make an altar, for the burning of incense, from setim wood,	1 Tu feras un autel pour faire fumer l’encens, tu le feras en bois d’acacia.
2 having one cubit in length, and another in width, that is, four equal sides, and two cubits in height. Horns shall proceed from the same.	2 Sa longueur sera d’une coudée, sa largeur d’une coudée, il sera carré et sa hauteur sera de deux coudées. Ses cornes ne feront qu’un avec lui.
3 And you shall clothe it with the purest gold, both its grating and the walls around it, and also the horns. And you shall make for it a crown of gold in a circle,	3 Tu couvriras le dessus de l’autel, ses parois et ses cornes avec de l’or, et tu feras tout autour une bordure en or.
4 and two gold rings under the crown on each side, so that the bars may be set in them and the altar may be carried.	4 En-dessous de la bordure, de chaque côté, tu feras deux anneaux d’or. Tu les fixeras sur les côtés, et on y passera les barres avec lesquelles on portera l’autel.
5 Also, you shall make its bars of setim wood, and you shall overlay them with gold.	5 Tu feras les barres en bois d’acacia, recouvertes d’or.
6 And you shall set the altar opposite the veil, which hangs in front of the ark of the testimony, before the propitiatory with which the testimony is covered, where I will speak to you.	6 Tu placeras l’autel devant le rideau qui est en avant de l’Arche du Témoignage, en avant de l’Instrument de l’Expiation qui est sur le Témoignage, là où je te donne rendez-vous.
7 And Aaron shall burn incense upon it, a sweet fragrance, in the morning. When he lights the lamps, he shall burn it.	7 Là, chaque matin, Aaron fera fumer l’encens parfumé; il arrangera les lampes et fera brûler l’encens.
8 And when he assembles them in the evening, he shall burn an everlasting incense before the Lord throughout your generations.	8 Quand Aaron allumera les lampes à la tombée du jour, il fera encore fumer cet encens perpétuel devant Yahvé. Cela sera pour les générations et les générations.
9 You shall not offer upon it incense of another composition, nor an oblation, nor a victim; neither shall you offer libations.	9 Vous ne ferez pas brûler sur cet autel un encens profane. Vous n’y ferez non plus ni sacrifice par le feu, ni sacrifice ordinaire, ni offrande de liquide.
10 And Aaron shall pray over its horns once a year, with the blood of what was offered for sin. And he shall make atonement over it in your generations. It shall be the Holy of holies to the Lord.”	10 Aaron fera l’expiation sur les cornes de l’autel une fois l’an. Il le fera avec le sang de la victime offerte pour l’expiation, et cela, de génération en génération. Ce sera un lieu très saint en l’honneur de Yahvé.”
11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	11 Yahvé parla à Moïse et lui dit:
12 “When you have taken the sum of the sons of Israel, according to their number, each shall give a price for their souls to the Lord, and there will be no scourge among them, when they will be reviewed.	12 “Lorsque tu recenseras les Israélites, ils feront au moment du recensement une offrande à Yahvé afin d’écarter de chez eux tout fléau. Chacun paiera pour sa propre personne.
13 Then all those who pass shall give by name: one half shekel, according to the measure at the temple. A shekel has twenty obols. The half part of a shekel shall be offered to the Lord.	13 Celui qui est soumis au recensement versera un demi-sicle selon le tarif du sicle du sanctuaire, c’est-à-dire, 20 guéras par sicle. Ce demi-sicle sera une contribution pour Yahvé.
14 He who has been numbered from twenty years and above shall give the price.	14 Celui qui est soumis au recensement parce qu’il a 20 ans ou plus, donnera la contribution pour Yahvé.
15 The rich shall not add to the half shekel, and the poor shall diminish nothing.	15 Le riche ne donnera pas plus et le pauvre ne donnera pas moins qu’un demi-sicle, c’est leur contribution pour Yahvé, pour le rachat de leur propre vie.
16 And the money received, which was collected from the sons of Israel, you shall deliver for the uses of the tabernacle of the testimony, so that it may be a memorial of them before the Lord, and he may act favorably toward their souls.”	16 Tu percevras l’argent de l’expiation auprès des Israélites, et tu le verseras pour le service de la Tente du Rendez-Vous. Ce sera pour les Israélites le moyen de se rappeler au souvenir de Yahvé et d’obtenir son salut.”
17 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	17 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit:
18 “You shall also make a bronze washtub with its base to wash in; and you shall place it between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar. And when water has been added,	18 “Tu feras une cuve en bronze avec son support en bronze, pour l’ablution. Tu la placeras entre la Tente du Rendez-Vous et l’autel, et tu verseras de l’eau dedans.
19 Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and feet in it:	19 Aaron et ses fils s’y laveront les mains et les pieds.
20 when they enter the tabernacle of the testimony, and when they approach to the altar so as to offer incense to the Lord upon it,	20 Au moment d’entrer dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, ils se laveront avec l’eau pour ne pas mourir. De même, quand ils s’avanceront vers l’autel pour accomplir leur ministère, pour faire fumer un sacrifice par le feu en l’honneur de Yahvé,
21 otherwise, they may die. This shall be an everlasting law to him, and to his offspring, throughout their successions.”	21 ils se laveront les mains et les pieds pour ne pas mourir. Ce sera pour eux un rite perpétuel, pour Aaron et pour sa descendance, de génération en génération.”
22 And the Lord spoke to Moses,	22 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit:
23 saying: “Take for yourself aromatics: of the first and best myrrh, five hundred shekels, and of cinnamon half as much, that is, two hundred and fifty shekels; of sweet flag similarly two hundred and fifty,	23 “Prends toi donc des parfums de première qualité: 500 sicles de myrrhe liquide, la moitié de cinnamome parfumé, soit 250 sicles, et 250 sicles de roseaux parfumés,
24 but of cassia, five hundred shekels by the weight of the sanctuary, and of the oil of olives the measure of a hin.	24 500 sicles de casse, selon le sicle du sanctuaire, trois bons litres d’huile d’olive.
25 And you shall make the holy oil of unction, an ointment composed with the skills of a perfumer,	25 Tu en feras une huile pour l’onction sacrée, un mélange parfumé comme en fait le parfumeur. Ce sera une huile pour l’onction sacrée,
26 and with it you shall anoint the tabernacle of the testimony, and the ark of the testament,	26 tu en marqueras la Tente du Rendez-Vous et l’Arche du Témoignage,
27 and the table with its vessels, and the lampstand and it utensils, the altars of incense	27 la table et tous ses accessoires, le chandelier et ses accessoires, l’autel des parfums,
28 and of holocaust, and all the items that pertain to their rituals.	28 l’autel des holocaustes et tous ses accessoires, la cuve et son support.
29 And you shall sanctify everything, and they shall be the Holy of holies. He who will touch them must be sanctified.	29 Tu les consacreras; ils seront alors très saints, et tout ce qui les touchera sera saint.
30 You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and you shall sanctify them, so that they may exercise the priesthood for me.	30 Tu marqueras également Aaron et ses fils lorsque tu les consacreras comme prêtres à mon service.
31 Likewise, you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘This oil of unction will be holy to me throughout your generations.	31 Puis tu diras aux Israélites: ainsi sera, de génération en génération l’huile pour l’onction sacrée.
32 The flesh of man shall not be anointed from it, and you shall not make any similar compound, for it has been sanctified and it shall be holy to you.	32 Vous n’en marquerez pas la chair d’un homme, et vous n’en ferez pas de semblable à celle-là, car c’est une chose sainte, elle sera sainte à vos yeux.
33 Whatever man will have composed such a thing and have given it to a stranger, he shall be exterminated from his people.’ ”	33 Celui qui ferait un parfum semblable et en mettrait sur quelqu’un qui n’est pas consacré, serait retranché de son peuple.”
34 And the Lord said to Moses: “Take to yourself aromatics: stacte, and onycha, galbanum of sweet odor, and the clearest frankincense, all these shall be of equal weight.	34 Yahvé dit à Moïse: “Prends en quantité égale de la résine odoriférante, de l’ongulum, du galbanum odoriférant et de l’encens pur.
35 And you shall make incense composed with the skills of a perfumer, diligently mixed, and pure, and most worthy of sanctification.	35 Tu en feras un parfum à brûler, comme en font les parfumeurs, salé, sans mélange et saint.
36 And when you have crushed all these into a very fine powder, you shall place some of it before the tabernacle of the testimony, in the place where I will appear to you. The Holy of holies shall this incense be to you.	36 Tu le réduiras en poudre et tu en mettras devant le Témoignage et dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous où je viens te trouver. Ce sera pour vous une chose très sainte.
37 You shall not make such a compound for your own uses, because it is holy to the Lord.	37 Vous ne ferez pas pour vous de l’encens semblable à celui-ci, car c’est un encens réservé à Yahvé.
38 Whatever man will have made anything similar, so as to thoroughly enjoy its smell, he shall perish from his people.”	38 Celui qui en ferait un semblable pour le respirer, serait retranché de son peuple.”
