1 Then all of Israel was gathered to David at Hebron, saying: “We are your bone and your flesh.	1 Todo Israel se congregó junto a David en Hebrón y le dijeron: «¡Nosotros somos de tu misma sangre!
2 Also, yesterday and the day before, when Saul still reigned, you were the one who led out and brought in Israel. For the Lord your God said to you: ‘You shall pasture my people Israel, and you shall be the leader over them.’ ”	2 Ya desde antes, incluso cuando Saúl reinaba sobre nosotros, eras tú el que conducía a Israel. Y ahora el Señor te ha dicho: "¡Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, tu serás el jefe de mi pueblo Israel!"».
3 Therefore, all those greater by birth of Israel went to the king at Hebron. And David formed a pact with them before the Lord. And they anointed him king over Israel, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he spoke by the hand of Samuel.	3 Todos los ancianos de Israel fueron a Hebrón, donde estaba el rey: David estableció una alianza con ellos en Hebrón, en presencia del Señor, y ellos lo ungieron como rey sobre Israel, conforme el Señor lo había anunciado por medio de Samuel.
4 Then David and all of Israel went to Jerusalem. The same is Jebus, where the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were.	4 David, con todo Israel, avanzó sobre Jerusalén –es decir, Jebús– donde estaban los jebuseos, que habitaban el país,
5 And those who were living in Jebus said to David: “You shall not enter here.” But David seized the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.	5 pero estos le dijeron: «¡Aquí no podrás entrar!». A pesar de eso, David conquistó la fortaleza de Sión, que es la Ciudad de David.
6 And he said, “Whoever shall strike the Jebusites first, shall be ruler and commander.” And so Joab, the son of Zeruiah, ascended first, and he was made the leader.	6 David había dicho: «El primero que mate a un jebuseo será comandante en jefe». Joab, hijo de Seruiá, fue el primero en subir y se convirtió en jefe.
7 Then David lived in the stronghold, and for this reason it was called the City of David.	7 David se instaló en la fortaleza, y por eso la llamaron «Ciudad de David».
8 And he built up the city all around, from Millo even to every side. But Joab built the rest of the city.	8 Luego construyó la ciudad en derredor, desde el Miló hasta los alrededores, y Joab restauró el resto de la ciudad.
9 And David continued advancing and increasing, and the Lord of hosts was with him.	9 Así David se iba engrandeciendo cada vez más, y el Señor de los ejércitos estaba con él.
10 These are the leaders of the strong men of David, who assisted him, so that he would become king over all of Israel, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he spoke to Israel.	10 Estos son los jefes de los Guerreros de David, que lo sostuvieron durante su reinado, y se unieron a todo Israel para hacerlo rey, conforme a la palabra del Señor acerca de Israel.
11 And this is the number of the robust of David: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, leader among the thirty. He lifted up his spear over three hundred, who were wounded at one time.	11 Esta es la lista de los Guerreros que tenía David: Iasobam, hijo de Jacmoní, jefe de los Tres, que empuñó su lanza y mató a más de trescientos de una sola vez.
12 And after him, there was Eleazar, the son of his uncle, an Ahohite, who was among the three powerful ones.	12 Después de él, Eleazar, hijo de Dodó, el ajotita, uno de los Tres Valientes.
13 He was with David in Pasdammim, when the Philistines were gathered to that place for battle. Now the field of that region was full of barley, but the people had fled from the face of the Philistines.	13 Este estaba con David en Pas Damín, donde los filisteos se habían concentrado para el combate. Allí había una parcela de campo toda sembrada de cebada, y el pueblo huyó delante de los filisteos.
14 These men stood in the midst of the field, and they defended it. And when they had struck down the Philistines, the Lord gave a great salvation to his people.	14 Pero él se apostó en medio del campo, lo defendió y derrotó a los filisteos, Así el Señor alcanzó una gran victoria.
15 Then three from the thirty leaders descended to the rock where David was, to the cave of Adullam, when the Philistines had made camp in the Valley of the Rephaim.	15 Tres de los Treinta bajaron juntos a la peña de la cueva de Adulam, donde estaba David, mientras los filisteos acampaban en el valle de Refaím.
16 Now David was in a stronghold, and a garrison of the Philistines was in Bethlehem.	16 David se encontraba entonces en el refugio y una guarnición filistea estaba en Belén.
17 And then David desired and said, “O if only someone would give me water from the well of Bethlehem, which is at the gate!”	17 David manifestó este deseo: «¡Quién me diera de beber agua del pozo que está junto a la puerta de Belén!».
18 Therefore, these three broke through to the midst of the camp of the Philistines, and they drew water from the well of Bethlehem, which was at the gate. And they took it to David, so that he might drink. But he was not willing; and instead, he offered it as a libation to the Lord,	18 Los Tres Valientes irrumpieron en el campamento filisteo, sacaron agua del pozo que está junto a la puerta de Belén y se la llevaron a David. Pero él no quiso beberla y la derramó como libación al Señor,
19 saying: “Far be it from me, that I would do this in the sight of my God, and that I would drink the blood of these men. For at the peril of their own lives, they brought the water to me.” And for this reason, he was not willing to drink. The three most powerful accomplished these things.	19 diciendo: «¡Líbreme Dios de hacer tal cosa! ¿Voy a beber la sangre de estos hombres, al precio de su vida? Ellos la han traído, arriesgando su vida». Y no quiso beber. Esto es lo que hicieron los Tres Valientes.
20 Also, Abishai, the brother of Joab, was the leader of the three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundred, who were wounded. And he was most renown among the three,	20 Abisai, hermano de Joab, era el jefe de los Treinta. El empuñó su lanza contra trescientos hombres y los mató, ganándose un renombre entre los Treinta.
21 and he was famous among the second three and their leader. Yet truly, he did not reach as far as the first three.	21 Era el más famoso de ellos, y fue su jefe, pero no llegó a igualar a los Tres.
22 Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, from Kabzeel, was a very mature man, who had accomplished many deeds. He struck down the two lions of God from Moab. And he descended and killed a lion in the middle of a pit, in the time of snow.	22 Benaías, hijo de Iehoiadá, era un hombre valiente, rico en hazañas, oriundo de Cabsel. El mató a los dos héroes de Moab, y fue él quien bajó a la cisterna un día de nieve para matar al león.
23 And he struck down an Egyptian man, whose stature was five cubits, and who had a spear like a weaver’s beam. And yet he descended to him with a staff. And he seized the spear that he was holding in his hand. And he killed him with his own spear.	23 También abatió al egipcio que medía dos metros y medio de alto y tenía en su mano una lanza gruesa como el palo grande de un telar. Benaías lo enfrentó con un garrote, le arrancó la lanza de la mano y le dio muerte con su propia lanza.
24 These things were done by Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, who was most renowned among the three robust ones,	24 Esto es lo que hizo Benaías, hijo de Iehoiadá, y así se ganó un renombre entre los treinta Guerreros.
25 the first among the thirty. Yet truly, he did not reach as far as the three. Then David placed him beside his ear.	25 El era el más famoso de los Treinta, pero no llegó a igualar a los Tres. David lo incorporó a su guardia personal.
26 Moreover, the strongest men of the army were Asahel, the brother of Joab; and Elhanan, the son of his uncle, from Bethlehem;	26 Los Guerreros valerosos fueron Asahel, hermano de Joab; Eljanán, hijo de Dodó, de Belén;
27 Shammoth, a Harorite; Helez, a Pelonite;	27 Samot, de Jarod; Jeles, el pelonita;
28 Ira, the son of Ikkesh, a Tekoite; Abiezer, an Anathothite;	28 Irá, hijo de Iqués, de Técoa; Abiézer, de Anatot;
