1 And when David had passed a little beyond the top of the mountain, Ziba, the servant of Mephibosheth, appeared to meet him, with two donkeys, which were burdened with two hundred loaves, and one hundred bunches of dried grapes, and one hundred masses of dried figs, and a skin of wine.	1 Había pasado David un poco más allá de la cumbre, cuando le salió al encuentro Sibá, criado de Meribbaal, con dos asnos aparejados, cargados con doscientos panes, cien racimos de uvas pasas, cien frutas maduras y un odre de vino.
2 And the king said to Ziba, “What do you intend to do with these things?” And Ziba responded: “The donkeys are for the household of the king, so that they may sit. And the loaves and dried figs are for your servants to eat. But the wine is for anyone to drink who may be faint in the desert.”	2 El rey preguntó a Sibá: «¿Para qué es esto?» Sibá contestó: «Los asnos son para que la familia del rey pueda montar, los panes y frutas son para que los muchachos coman y el vino para que beba el que se fatigue en el desierto».
3 And the king said, “Where is the son of your lord?” And Ziba answered the king: “He remained in Jerusalem, saying, ‘Today, the house of Israel will restore the kingdom of my father to me.’ ”	3 El rey preguntó: «¿Dónde está el hijo de tu señor?» Sibá respondió al rey: «Se ha quedado en Jerusalén porque se ha dicho: Hoy me devolverá la casa de Israel el reino de mi padre».
4 And the king said to Ziba, “All the things which were for Mephibosheth are now yours.” And Ziba said, “I beg you that I may find grace before you, my lord the king.”	4 El rey dijo a Sibá: «Todo lo de Meribbaal es para ti» Sibá respondió: «Me postro ante ti. ¡Que halle yo gracia a tus ojos, oh rey mi señor!»
5 Then king David went as far as Bahurim. And behold, a man from the kindred of the house of Saul, named Shimei, the son of Gera, went out from there. And going out, he continued on, and he was cursing,	5 Cuando el rey David llegó a Bajurim salió de allí un hombre del mismo clan que la casa de Saúl, llamado Semeí, hijo de Guerá. Iba maldiciendo mientras avanzaba.
6 and throwing stones against David and against all the servants of king David. And all the people and all the warriors were traveling to the right and to the left sides of the king.	6 Tiraba piedras a David y a todos los servidores del rey, mientras toda la gente y todos los servidores se colocaban a derecha e izquierda.
7 And so, as he was cursing the king, Shimei said: “Go away, go away, you man of blood, and you man of Belial!	7 Semeí decía maldiciendo: «Vete, vete, hombre sanguinario y malvado.
8 The Lord has repaid you for all the blood of the house of Saul. For you have usurped the kingdom in place of him. And so, the Lord has given the kingdom into the hand of Absalom, your son. And behold, your evils press close upon you, because you are a man of blood.”	8 Yahveh te devuelva toda la sangre de la casa de Saúl, cuyo reino usurpaste. Así Yahveh ha entregado tu reino en manos de Absalón tu hijo. Has caído en tu propia maldad, porque eres un hombre sanguinario».
9 Then Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, said to the king: “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go and cut off his head.”	9 Abisay, hijo de Sarvia, dijo al rey: «¿Por qué ha de maldecir este perro muerto a mi señor el rey? Voy ahora mismo y le corto la cabeza».
10 And the king said: “What is it to me and to all of you, O sons of Zeruiah? Permit him, so that he may curse. For the Lord has commanded him to curse David. And who is the one who would dare to say, ‘Why has he done so?’ ”	10 Respondió el rey: «¿Qué tengo yo con vosotros, hijos de Sarvia? Deja que maldiga, pues si Yahveh le ha dicho: “Maldice a David” ¿quién le puede decir: «Por qué haces esto?»
11 And the king said to Abishai and to all his servants: “Behold, my son, who went forth from my loins, is seeking my life. How much more does a son of Benjamin do so now? Permit him, so that he may curse, in accord with the command of the Lord.	11 Y añadió David a Abisay y a todos sus siervos: «Mirad, mi hijo, salido de mis entrañas, busca mi muerte, pues ¿cuánto más ahora un benjaminita? Dejadle que maldiga, pues se lo ha mandado Yahveh.
12 Perhaps the Lord may look with favor upon my affliction, and the Lord may repay me good, in place of the cursing of this day.”	12 Acaso Yahveh mire mi aflicción y me devuelva Yahveh bien por las maldiciones de este día».
13 And so, David continued walking along the way, and his associates with him. But Shimei was advancing along the ridge of the mountain on the side opposite him, cursing and throwing stones at him, and scattering dirt.	13 Y David y sus hombres prosiguieron su camino, mientras Semeí marchaba por el flanco de la montaña, paralelo a él; iba malcidiendo, tirando piedras y arrojandos polvo.
14 And the king and the entire people with him, being weary, went and refreshed themselves there.	14 El rey y todo el pueblo que iba con él, llegaron extenuados a... y allí tomaron aliento.
15 But Absalom and all his people entered into Jerusalem. Moreover, Ahithophel was with him.	15 Absalón y todos hombres de Israel entraron en Jerusalén; Ajitófel estaba con él.
16 And when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had gone to Absalom, he said to him: “May you be well, O king! May you be well, O king!”	16 Llegó Jusay el arquita, amigo de David, donde Absalón y dijo Jusay a Absalón: «¡Viva el rey, viva el rey!»
17 And Absalom said to him: “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why did you not go with your friend?”	17 Absalón dijo a Jusay: «¿Es éste tu afecto por tu amigo? ¿Por qué no te has ido con tu amigo?»
18 And Hushai responded to Absalom: “By no means! For I will be his, whom the Lord has chosen. And I, and all this people, and all of Israel, will remain with him.	18 Jusay respondió a Absalón: «No. Yo quiero estar y permanecer con aquel a quien ha elegido Yahveh, este pueblo y todos los hombres de Israel.
19 But then too, I declare this: whom should I serve? Is it not the son of the king? Just as I have been subject to your father, so will I be subject to you also.”	19 Por lo demás ¿a quién voy a servir? ¿No es a su hijo? Como he servido a tu padre, te serviré a ti».
20 Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Present a counsel as to what we ought to do.”	20 Absalón dijo a Ajitófel: «Tomad consejo sobre lo que se debe hacer».
21 And Ahithophel said to Absalom: “Enter to the concubines of your father, whom he left behind in order to care for the house. Thus, when all of Israel will hear that you disgraced your father, their hands may be strengthened with you.”	21 Ajitófel dijo a Absalón: «Llégate a las concubinas que tu padre ha dejado para guardar la casa; todo Israel sabrá que te has hecho odioso a tu padre y se fortalecerán las manos de todos los que están contigo.
22 Therefore, they spread a tent for Absalom on the rooftop. And he entered to the concubines of his father in the sight of all Israel.	22 Se levantó, pues, una tienda para Absalón sobre el terrado y Absalón se unió a las concubinas de su padre a la vista de todo Israel.
23 Now the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was treated as if one were consulting God. So was every counsel of Ahithophel, both when he was with David, and when he was with Absalom.	23 El consejo que daba Ajitófel aquellos días era como si se hubiese pedido un oráculo a Dios. Así era tenido el consejo de Ajitófel, tanto por David como por Absalón.
