1 After the death of Aaron's two sons, who died when they approached the LORD'S presence, the LORD spoke to Moses	1 Parlo Iddio a Moisè, dopo la morte de due figliuoli di Aaron, che morirono quando offerivano lo fuoco d'altrui:
2 and said to him, "Tell your brother Aaron that he is not to come whenever he pleases into the sanctuary, inside the veil, in front of the propitiatory on the ark; otherwise, when I reveal myself in a cloud above the propitiatory, he will die.	2 E comandò a lui, e disse: di' ad Aaron tuo fratello, che non entri ogni tempo nel santuario ch' è infra lo parete dinnanzi al propiziatorio con lo quale si cuopre l'arca, acciò che non muoia; perciò ch' io apparirò in nuvola sopra l'oratorio;
3 Only in this way may Aaron enter the sanctuary. He shall bring a young bullock for a sin offering and a ram for a holocaust.	3 salvo se non fesse questo innanzi: offerisca uno vitello per lo peccato, e uno montone nello olocausto.
4 He shall wear the sacred linen tunic, with the linen drawers next his flesh, gird himself with the linen sash and put on the linen miter. But since these vestments are sacred, he shall not put them on until he has first bathed his body in water.	4 Egli si vestirà della tunica di lino, e porrassi le brache di lino per coprir quelle parti; e cingerassi di correggia di lino, e uno panno di lino si porrà in capo; e questi vestiti sono santi, de quali tutti si vestirà, lavato che sarà.
5 From the Israelite community he shall receive two male goats for a sin offering and one ram for a holocaust.	5 Da tutta la gente de' figliuoli d'Israel riceverà due becchi per lo peccato, e uno montone allo sacrificio.
6 "Aaron shall bring in the bullock, his sin offering to atone for himself and for his household.	6 Quando avrà offerto lo vitello, e avrà pregato per e lui per la casa sua,
7 Taking the two male goats and setting them before the LORD at the entrance of the meeting tent,	7 farà istare due becchi innanzi a Dio appresso alla porta del tabernacolo della testimonianza,
8 he shall cast lots to determine which one is for the LORD and which for Azazel.	8 mettendo le sorti sopra amendue, una per lo Signore, e l'altra per lo becco che si debba licenziare.
9 The goat that is determined by lot for the LORD, Aaron shall bring in and offer up as a sin offering.	9 Sopra del quale caderà la sorte per lo Signore, quello offerirà per lo peccato.
10 But the goat determined by lot for Azazel he shall set alive before the LORD, so that with it he may make atonement by sending it off to Azazel in the desert.	10 Quella che caderà sopra al becco da esser licenziato, quello appresenterà [vivo] dinnanzi al Signore, acciò che lui prieghi sopra di lui, e poi mandilo nel deserto.
11 "Thus shall Aaron offer up the bullock, his sin offering, to atone for himself and for his family. When he has slaughtered it,	11 Fatte queste cose, offerrà lo vitello; e pregando per sè e per la casa sua, lo sacrificherà.
12 he shall take a censer full of glowing embers from the altar before the LORD, as well as a double handful of finely ground fragrant incense, and bringing them inside the veil,	12 E tolto lo turibolo, ed empialo del fuoco dell' altare, e togliendo colla mano lo timiama per incensare, ultra il parete entrerà in SANCTA (SANCTORUM),
13 there before the LORD he shall put incense on the fire, so that a cloud of incense may cover the propitiatory over the commandments; else he will die.	13 acciò che poste sopra lo fuoco le cose odorifere, la loro nebula e vapore cuopra (tutto) l'oracolo, lo quale è sopra l'arca della testimonianza, e non muoia.
14 Taking some of the bullock's blood, he shall sprinkle it with his finger on the fore part of the propitiatory and likewise sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times in front of the propitiatory.	14 E torrà dello sangue del vitello, e col dito sette volte aspargerà (in presenza di Dio) allo propiziatorio dall'oriente.
15 "Then he shall slaughter the people's sin-offering goat, and bringing its blood inside the veil, he shall do with it as he did with the bullock's blood, sprinkling it on the propitiatory and before it.	15 Quando avrà morto lo becco per lo peccato del popolo, tolga lo sangue suo, e portilo dentro allo pariete, là dove si pone quello del vitello, acciò che asperga tutto l'oratorio,
16 Thus he shall make atonement for the sanctuary because of all the sinful defilements and faults of the Israelites. He shall do the same for the meeting tent, which is set up among them in the midst of their uncleanness.	16 e netti lo santuario dalle immondizie dei figliuoli d'Israel, e dalle loro prevaricazioni e da tutti i suoi peccati. E in questo modo farà nel tabernacolo della testimonianza, ch' è infra loro nel mezzo [delle immondizie) delle abitazioni.
17 No one else may be in the meeting tent from the time he enters the sanctuary to make atonement until he departs. When he has made atonement for himself and his household, as well as for the whole Israelite community,	17 E niuno uomo sia nel tabernacolo, quando lo sacerdote entrerà allo santuario per pregare per sè e per la sua casa e per tutto lo popolo d'Israel, insino a tanto che non esca.
18 he shall come out to the altar before the LORD and make atonement for it also. Taking some of the bullock's and the goat's blood, he shall put it on the horns around the altar,	18 Quand'egli sarà uscito all'altare, che è dinnanzi Dio ori per sè (e per la sua casa); e preso lo sangue del vitello e del becco, verserallo in su l'altare in ogni corno.
19 and with his finger sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times. Thus he shall render it clean and holy, purged of the defilements of the Israelites.	19 E con lo dito aspergerà sette volte, acciò che mondi e santifichi quello dalle immondizie dei figliuoli d'Israel.
20 "When he has completed the atonement rite for the sanctuary, the meeting tent and the altar, Aaron shall bring forward the live goat.	20 E poi che avranno nettato lo tabernacolo e l'altare e lo santuario, allora offerirà il becco vivo.
21 Laying both hands on its head, he shall confess over it all the sinful faults and transgressions of the Israelites, and so put them on the goat's head. He shall then have it led into the desert by an attendant.	21 E poste le mani sopra lo capo suo, confessi tutte le iniquitadi de' figliuoli d'Israel, e tutti li mancamenti e li peccati loro; li quali supplicando che vadino sopra lo capo del becco, manderallo nel deserto per uno uomo preparato a questo.
22 Since the goat is to carry off their iniquities to an isolated region, it must be sent away into the desert.	22 E avendo portato le loro iniquitadi via questo becco in la terra solitaria, e sarà lasciato nel deserto,
23 "After Aaron has again gone into the meeting tent, he shall strip off and leave in the sanctuary the linen vestments he had put on when he entered there.	23 torni Aaron nel tabernacolo della testimonianza; e poste giù le vestimenta, di che pria era vestito quando entrò nel santuario, e lasciate ivi le vesti,
24 After bathing his body with water in a sacred place, he shall put on his vestments, and then come out and offer his own and the people's holocaust, in atonement for himself and for the people,	24 laverà la carne sua nelli luoghi santi, e ve stirassi le sue vestimenta. E poi che, uscito, avrà offerto lo suo sacrificio e del popolo, pregherà così per lui come per lo popolo.
25 and also burn the fat of the sin offering on the altar.	25 E lo grasso, che è stato offerto per lo peccato, sarà abbruciato sopra l'altare.
26 "The man who has led away the goat for Azazel shall wash his garments and bathe his body in water; only then may he enter the camp.	26 E colui che lascerà lo becco andare via, laverà le sue vestimenta e lo corpo coll'acqua, e così entrerà nei castelli.
27 The sin-offering bullock and goat whose blood was brought into the sanctuary to make atonement, shall be taken outside the camp, where their hides and flesh and offal shall be burned up in the fire.	27 Lo vitello e lo becco, che furono sacrificati per lo peccato, e delli quali lo sangue fu posto nel santuario per finire la purgazione, porterannogli fuori del (santuario e del) castello; e arderannogli col fuoco, così li peli, come la carne e le feci.
28 The one who burns them shall wash his garments and bathe his body in water; only then may he enter the camp.	28 E chi li arderà, laverà le sue vestimenta e la sua carne coll'acqua, e così entrerà nel castello.
29 "This shall be an everlasting ordinance for you: on the tenth day of the seventh month every one of you, whether a native or a resident alien, shall mortify himself and shall do no work.	29 E questa vi sarà legge in sempiterno: nel settimo mese, a dì decimo del mese, affligerete le vostre anime, e non farete niuna cosa (senza necessitade), così voi e così lo forestiere che fosse infra voi.
30 Since on this day atonement is made for you to make you clean, so that you may be cleansed of all your sins before the LORD,	30 In questo die sarà la vostra purgazione e mondazione di tutti i vostri peccati; e in presenza di Dio sarete netti;
31 by everlasting ordinance it shall be a most solemn sabbath for you, on which you must mortify yourselves.	31 però ch' egli è lo sabbato del riposo, e affligerete le vostre anime in religione perpetua.
32 "This atonement is to be made by the priest who has been anointed and ordained to the priesthood in succession to his father. He shall wear the linen garments, the sacred vestments,	32 E purgherà lo sacerdote, lo quale sarà unto, e dello quale le mani sono consecrate, acciò che faccia l'officio per suo padre: vestasi una stola di lino e le vesti sante;
33 and make atonement for the sacred sanctuary, the meeting tent and the altar, as well as for the priests and all the people of the community.	33 e purgherà lo santuario e lo tabernacolo della testimonianza e l'altare e li sacerdoti e tutto il popolo.
34 This, then, shall be an everlasting ordinance for you: once a year atonement shall be made for all the sins of the Israelites." Thus was it done, as the LORD had commanded Moses.	34 E saravvi legge in sempiterno di pregare per li figliuoli d'Israel e per tutti li loro peccati, una volta l'anno. E fece Moisè come Iddio gli comandò.
