LXXDOUAI-RHEIMS
δι' επτα ετων ποιησεις αφεσιν1 In the seventh year thou shalt make a remission,
και ουτως το προσταγμα της αφεσεως αφησεις παν χρεος ιδιον ο οφειλει σοι ο πλησιον και τον αδελφον σου ουκ απαιτησεις οτι επικεκληται αφεσις κυριω τω θεω σου2 Which shall be celebrated in this order. He to whom any thing is owing from his friend or neighbour or brother, cannot demand it again, because it is the year of remission of the Lord,
τον αλλοτριον απαιτησεις οσα εαν η σοι παρ' αυτω του αδελφου σου αφεσιν ποιησεις του χρεους σου3 Of the foreigner or stranger thou mayst exact it: of thy countryman and neighbour thou shalt not have power to demand it again.
οτι ουκ εσται εν σοι ενδεης οτι ευλογων ευλογησει σε κυριος ο θεος σου εν τη γη η κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι εν κληρω κατακληρονομησαι αυτην4 And there shall be no poor nor beggar among you: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in the land which he will give thee in possession.
εαν δε ακοη εισακουσητε της φωνης κυριου του θεου υμων φυλασσειν και ποιειν πασας τας εντολας ταυτας οσας εγω εντελλομαι σοι σημερον5 Yet so if thou hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and keep all things that he hath ordained, and which I command thee this day, he will bless thee, as he hath promised.
οτι κυριος ο θεος σου ευλογησεν σε ον τροπον ελαλησεν σοι και δανιεις εθνεσιν πολλοις συ δε ου δανιη και αρξεις συ εθνων πολλων σου δε ουκ αρξουσιν6 Thou shalt lend to many nations, and thou shalt borrow of no man. Thou shalt have dominion over very many nations, and no one shall have dominion over thee.
εαν δε γενηται εν σοι ενδεης των αδελφων σου εν μια των πολεων σου εν τη γη η κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι ουκ αποστερξεις την καρδιαν σου ουδ' ου μη συσφιγξης την χειρα σου απο του αδελφου σου του επιδεομενου7 If one of thy brethren that dwelleth within the gates of thy city in the land which the Lord thy God will give thee, come to poverty: thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor close thy hand,
ανοιγων ανοιξεις τας χειρας σου αυτω δανειον δανιεις αυτω οσον επιδεεται καθ' οσον ενδεειται8 But shalt open it to the poor man, thou shalt lend him, that which thou perceivest he hath need of.
προσεχε σεαυτω μη γενηται ρημα κρυπτον εν τη καρδια σου ανομημα λεγων εγγιζει το ετος το εβδομον ετος της αφεσεως και πονηρευσηται ο οφθαλμος σου τω αδελφω σου τω επιδεομενω και ου δωσεις αυτω και βοησεται κατα σου προς κυριον και εσται εν σοι αμαρτια μεγαλη9 Beware lest perhaps a wicked thought steal in upon thee, and thou say in thy heart: The seventh year of remission draweth nigh; and thou turn away thy eyes from thy poor brother, denying to lend him that which he asketh: lest he cry against thee to the Lord, and it become a sin unto thee.
διδους δωσεις αυτω και δανειον δανιεις αυτω οσον επιδεεται και ου λυπηθηση τη καρδια σου διδοντος σου αυτω οτι δια το ρημα τουτο ευλογησει σε κυριος ο θεος σου εν πασιν τοις εργοις και εν πασιν ου αν επιβαλης την χειρα σου10 But thou shalt give to him: neither shalt thou do any thing craftily in relieving his necessities: that the Lord thy God may bless thee at all times, and in all things to which thou shalt put thy hand.
ου γαρ μη εκλιπη ενδεης απο της γης δια τουτο εγω σοι εντελλομαι ποιειν το ρημα τουτο λεγων ανοιγων ανοιξεις τας χειρας σου τω αδελφω σου τω πενητι και τω επιδεομενω τω επι της γης σου11 There will not be wanting poor in the land of thy habitation: therefore I command thee to open thy hand to thy needy and poor brother, that liveth in the land.
εαν δε πραθη σοι ο αδελφος σου ο εβραιος η η εβραια δουλευσει σοι εξ ετη και τω εβδομω εξαποστελεις αυτον ελευθερον απο σου12 When thy brother a Hebrew man, or Hebrew woman is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free:
οταν δε εξαποστελλης αυτον ελευθερον απο σου ουκ εξαποστελεις αυτον κενον13 And when thou sendest him out free, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
εφοδιον εφοδιασεις αυτον απο των προβατων σου και απο του σιτου σου και απο της ληνου σου καθα ευλογησεν σε κυριος ο θεος σου δωσεις αυτω14 But shalt give him for his way out of thy flocks, and out of thy barnfloor, and thy winepress, wherewith the Lord thy God shall bless thee.
και μνησθηση οτι οικετης ησθα εν γη αιγυπτου και ελυτρωσατο σε κυριος ο θεος σου εκειθεν δια τουτο εγω σοι εντελλομαι ποιειν το ρημα τουτο15 Remember that thou also wast a bondservant in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God made thee free, and therefore I now command thee this.
εαν δε λεγη προς σε ουκ εξελευσομαι απο σου οτι ηγαπηκεν σε και την οικιαν σου οτι ευ αυτω εστιν παρα σοι16 But if he say: I will not depart: because he loveth thee, and thy house, and findeth that he is well with thee:
και λημψη το οπητιον και τρυπησεις το ωτιον αυτου προς την θυραν και εσται σοι οικετης εις τον αιωνα και την παιδισκην σου ποιησεις ωσαυτως17 Thou shalt take an awl, and bore through his ear in the door of thy house, and he shall serve thee for ever: thou shalt do in like manner to thy womanservant also.
ου σκληρον εσται εναντιον σου εξαποστελλομενων αυτων ελευθερων απο σου οτι εφετιον μισθον του μισθωτου εδουλευσεν σοι εξ ετη και ευλογησει σε κυριος ο θεος σου εν πασιν οις εαν ποιης18 Turn not away thy eyes from them when thou makest them tree: because he hath served thee six years according to the wages of a hireling: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the works that thou dost.
παν πρωτοτοκον ο εαν τεχθη εν τοις βουσιν σου και εν τοις προβατοις σου τα αρσενικα αγιασεις κυριω τω θεω σου ουκ εργα εν τω πρωτοτοκω μοσχω σου και ου μη κειρης το πρωτοτοκον των προβατων σου19 Of the firstlings, that come of thy herds and thy sheep, thou shalt sanctify to the Lord thy God whatsoever is of the male sex. Thou shalt not work with the firstling of a bullock, and thou shalt not shear the firstlings of thy sheep.
εναντι κυριου φαγη αυτο ενιαυτον εξ ενιαυτου εν τω τοπω ω εαν εκλεξηται κυριος ο θεος σου συ και ο οικος σου20 In the sight of the Lord thy God shalt thou eat them every year, in the place that the Lord shall choose, thou and thy house.
εαν δε η εν αυτω μωμος χωλον η τυφλον η και πας μωμος πονηρος ου θυσεις αυτο κυριω τω θεω σου21 But if it have a blemish, or be lame, or blind, or in any part disfigured or feeble, it shall not be sacrificed to the Lord thy God.
εν ταις πολεσιν σου φαγη αυτο ο ακαθαρτος εν σοι και ο καθαρος ωσαυτως εδεται ως δορκαδα η ελαφον22 But thou shalt eat it within the gates of thy city: the clean and the unclean shall eat them alike, as the roe and as the hart.
πλην το αιμα ου φαγεσθε επι την γην εκχεεις αυτο ως υδωρ23 Only thou shalt take heed not to eat their blood, but pour it out on the earth as water.
