LXX	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην εν τη ερημω σινα εν τω ετει τω δευτερω εξελθοντων αυτων εκ γης αιγυπτου εν τω μηνι τω πρωτω λεγων	1 In the first month of the year following their departure from the land of Egypt, the Lord said to Moses in the desert of Sinai,
2 ειπον και ποιειτωσαν οι υιοι ισραηλ το πασχα καθ' ωραν αυτου	2 "Tell the Israelites to celebrate the Passover at the prescribed time.
3 τη τεσσαρεσκαιδεκατη ημερα του μηνος του πρωτου προς εσπεραν ποιησεις αυτο κατα καιρους κατα τον νομον αυτου και κατα την συγκρισιν αυτου ποιησεις αυτο	3 The evening twilight of the fourteenth day of this month is the prescribed time when you shall celebrate it, observing all its rules and regulations."
4 και ελαλησεν μωυσης τοις υιοις ισραηλ ποιησαι το πασχα	4 Moses, therefore, told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover.
5 εναρχομενου τη τεσσαρεσκαιδεκατη ημερα του μηνος εν τη ερημω του σινα καθα συνεταξεν κυριος τω μωυση ουτως εποιησαν οι υιοι ισραηλ	5 And they did so, celebrating the Passover in the desert of Sinai during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of the first month, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
6 και παρεγενοντο οι ανδρες οι ησαν ακαθαρτοι επι ψυχη ανθρωπου και ουκ ηδυναντο ποιησαι το πασχα εν τη ημερα εκεινη και προσηλθον εναντιον μωυση και ααρων εν εκεινη τη ημερα	6 There were some, however, who were unclean because of a human corpse and so could not keep the Passover that day. These men came up to Moses and Aaron that same day
7 και ειπαν οι ανδρες εκεινοι προς αυτον ημεις ακαθαρτοι επι ψυχη ανθρωπου μη ουν υστερησωμεν προσενεγκαι το δωρον κυριω κατα καιρον αυτου εν μεσω υιων ισραηλ	7 and said, "Although we are unclean because of a corpse, why should we be deprived of presenting the LORD'S offering at its proper time along with the other Israelites?"
8 και ειπεν προς αυτους μωυσης στητε αυτου και ακουσομαι τι εντελειται κυριος περι υμων	8 Moses answered them, "Wait until I learn what the LORD will command in your regard."
9 και ελαλησεν κυριος προς μωυσην λεγων	9 The LORD then said to Moses:
10 λαλησον τοις υιοις ισραηλ λεγων ανθρωπος ανθρωπος ος εαν γενηται ακαθαρτος επι ψυχη ανθρωπου η εν οδω μακραν υμιν η εν ταις γενεαις υμων και ποιησει το πασχα κυριω	10 "Speak to the Israelites and say: If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean because of a corpse, or if he is absent on a journey, he may still keep the LORD'S Passover.
11 εν τω μηνι τω δευτερω εν τη τεσσαρεσκαιδεκατη ημερα το προς εσπεραν ποιησουσιν αυτο επ' αζυμων και πικριδων φαγονται αυτο	11 But he shall keep it in the second month, during the evening twilight of the fourteenth day of that month, eating it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs,
12 ου καταλειψουσιν απ' αυτου εις το πρωι και οστουν ου συντριψουσιν απ' αυτου κατα τον νομον του πασχα ποιησουσιν αυτο	12 and not leaving any of it over till morning, nor breaking any of its bones, but observing all the rules of the Passover.
13 και ανθρωπος ος εαν καθαρος η και εν οδω μακρα ουκ εστιν και υστερηση ποιησαι το πασχα εξολεθρευθησεται η ψυχη εκεινη εκ του λαου αυτης οτι το δωρον κυριω ου προσηνεγκεν κατα τον καιρον αυτου αμαρτιαν αυτου λημψεται ο ανθρωπος εκεινος	13 However, anyone who is clean and not away on a journey, who yet fails to keep the Passover, shall be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD'S offering at the prescribed time. That man shall bear the consequences of his sin.
14 εαν δε προσελθη προς υμας προσηλυτος εν τη γη υμων και ποιησει το πασχα κυριω κατα τον νομον του πασχα και κατα την συνταξιν αυτου ποιησει αυτο νομος εις εσται υμιν και τω προσηλυτω και τω αυτοχθονι της γης	14 "If an alien who lives among you wishes to keep the LORD'S Passover, he too shall observe the rules and regulations for the Passover. You shall have the same law for the resident alien as for the native of the land."
15 και τη ημερα η εσταθη η σκηνη εκαλυψεν η νεφελη την σκηνην τον οικον του μαρτυριου και το εσπερας ην επι της σκηνης ως ειδος πυρος εως πρωι	15 On the day when the Dwelling was erected, the cloud covered the Dwelling, the tent of the commandments; but from evening until morning it took on the appearance of fire over the Dwelling.
16 ουτως εγινετο δια παντος η νεφελη εκαλυπτεν αυτην ημερας και ειδος πυρος την νυκτα	16 It was always so: during the day the Dwelling was covered by the cloud, which at night had the appearance of fire.
17 και ηνικα ανεβη η νεφελη απο της σκηνης και μετα ταυτα απηραν οι υιοι ισραηλ και εν τω τοπω ου αν εστη η νεφελη εκει παρενεβαλον οι υιοι ισραηλ	17 Whenever the cloud rose from the tent, the Israelites would break camp; wherever the cloud came to rest, they would pitch camp.
18 δια προσταγματος κυριου παρεμβαλουσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ και δια προσταγματος κυριου απαρουσιν πασας τας ημερας εν αις σκιαζει η νεφελη επι της σκηνης παρεμβαλουσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ	18 At the bidding of the LORD the Israelites moved on, and at his bidding they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the Dwelling, they remained in camp.
19 και οταν εφελκηται η νεφελη επι της σκηνης ημερας πλειους και φυλαξονται οι υιοι ισραηλ την φυλακην του θεου και ου μη εξαρωσιν	19 Even when the cloud tarried many days over the Dwelling, the Israelites obeyed the LORD and would not move on;
20 και εσται οταν σκεπαση η νεφελη ημερας αριθμω επι της σκηνης δια φωνης κυριου παρεμβαλουσιν και δια προσταγματος κυριου απαρουσιν	20 yet sometimes the cloud was over the Dwelling only for a few days. It was at the bidding of the LORD that they stayed in camp, and it was at his bidding that they departed.
21 και εσται οταν γενηται η νεφελη αφ' εσπερας εως πρωι και αναβη η νεφελη το πρωι και απαρουσιν ημερας η νυκτος	21 Sometimes the cloud remained there only from evening until morning; and when it rose in the morning, they would depart. Or if the cloud lifted during the day, or even at night, they would then set out.
22 μηνος ημερας πλεοναζουσης της νεφελης σκιαζουσης επ' αυτης παρεμβαλουσιν οι υιοι ισραηλ και ου μη απαρωσιν	22 Whether the cloud tarried over the Dwelling for two days or for a month or longer, the Israelites remained in camp and did not depart; but when it lifted, they moved on.
23 οτι δια προσταγματος κυριου απαρουσιν την φυλακην κυριου εφυλαξαντο δια προσταγματος κυριου εν χειρι μωυση	23 Thus, it was always at the bidding of the LORD that they encamped, and at his bidding that they set out; ever heeding the charge of the LORD, as he had bidden them through Moses.
