KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan,1 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, the headland of Pisgah which faces Jericho, and the LORD showed him all the land-Gilead, and as far as Dan,
And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea,2 all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,
And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar.3 the Negeb, the circuit of the Jordan with the lowlands at Jericho, city of palms, and as far as Zoar.
And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.4 The LORD then said to him, "This is the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that I would give to their descendants. I have let you feast your eyes upon it, but you shall not cross over."
So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD.5 So there, in the land of Moab, Moses, the servant of the LORD, died as the LORD had said;
And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day.6 and he was buried in the ravine opposite Beth-peor in the land of Moab, but to this day no one knows the place of his burial.
And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were undimmed and his vigor unabated.
And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.8 For thirty days the Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab, till they had completed the period of grief and mourning for Moses.
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.9 Now Joshua, son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom, since Moses had laid his hands upon him; and so the Israelites gave him their obedience, thus carrying out the LORD'S command to Moses.
And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,10 Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.
In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,11 He had no equal in all the signs and wonders the LORD sent him to perform in the land of Egypt against Pharaoh and all his servants and against all his land,
And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.12 and for the might and the terrifying power that Moses exhibited in the sight of all Israel.
