Hosea 6

1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.	1 Nella loro tribolazione si alzeran subito per tornare a me. Su via torniamo al Signore:
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.	2 lui, che ci ha feriti, ci guarirà; ci ha percossi e ci curerà;
3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.	3 dopo due giorni ci farà rivivere, il terzo giorno ci farà risuscitare, e noi vivremo dinanzi a lui. Lo conosceremo, lo impareremo a conoscere il Signore. La sua venuta è preparata come quella dell'aurora, e verrà a noi come la pioggia di primavera e di autunno.
4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.	4 Che devo farti, o Efraim? Che devo farti, o Giuda? La vostra bontà è come nuvola, mattutina, come rugiada che al mattino sparisce.
5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.	5 Per questo io li feci in pezzi coi miei profeti, li uccisi colle parole della mia bocca. E la tua condanna verrà fuori come la luce,
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.	6 perchè io voglio la misericordia e non il sacrifizio, la conoscenza di Dio più degli olocausti.
7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.	7 Ma essi come Adamo han violato il mio patto, han prevaricato contro di me.
8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.	8 Galaad, città di fabbricatori d'idoli, è distrutta pel sangue,
9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.	9 e come le fauci dei ladroni s'è unita ai sacerdoti che per la via uccidon quindi chi vengon da Sichem, perchè si son dati al delitto.
10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.	10 Orribili cose ho viste nella casa d'Israele: ivi le fornicazioni d'Efraim: Israele s'è contaminato.
11 Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.	11 Ed anche tu, o Giuda, preparati la messe, per quando io ricondurrò gli schiavi del mio popolo.
