1 Wisdom reacheth from one end to another mightily: and sweetly doth she order all things.	1 Se despliega vigorosamente de un confín al otro del mundo y gobierna de excelente manera el universo.
2 I loved her, and sought her out from my youth, I desired to make her my spouse, and I was a lover of her beauty.	2 Yo la amé y la pretendí desde mi juventud; me esforcé por hacerla esposa mía y llegué a ser un apasionado de su belleza.
3 In that she is conversant with God, she magnifieth her nobility: yea, the Lord of all things himself loved her.	3 Realza su nobleza por su convivencia con Dios, pues el Señor de todas las cosas la amó.
4 For she is privy to the mysteries of the knowledge of God, and a lover of his works.	4 Pues está iniciada en la ciencia de Dios y es la que elige sus obras.
5 If riches be a possession to be desired in this life; what is richer than wisdom, that worketh all things?	5 Si en la vida la riqueza es una posesión deseable, ¿qué cosa más rica que la Sabiduría que todo lo hace?
6 And if prudence work; who of all that are is a more cunning workman than she?	6 Si la inteligencia es creadora, ¿quién sino la Sabiduría es el artífice de cuanto existe?
7 And if a man love righteousness her labours are virtues: for she teacheth temperance and prudence, justice and fortitude: which are such things, as en can have nothing more profitable in their life.	7 ¿Amas la justicia? Las virtudes son sus empeños, pues ella enseña la templanza y la prudencia, la justicia y la fortaleza: lo más provechoso para el hombre en la vida.
8 If a man desire much experience, she knoweth things of old, and conjectureth aright what is to come: she knoweth the subtilties of speeches, and can expound dark sentences: she foreseeth signs and wonders, and the events of seasons and times.	8 ¿Deseas además gran experiencia? Ella conoce el pasado y conjetura el porvenir, sabe interpretar las máximas y resolver los enigmas, conoce de antemano las señales y los prodigios, así como la sucesión de épocas y tiempos.
9 Therefore I purposed to take her to me to live with me, knowing that she would be a counsellor of good things, and a comfort in cares and grief.	9 Decidí, pues, tomarla por compañera de mi vida, sabiendo que me sería una consejera para el bien y un aliento en las preocupaciones y penas:
10 For her sake I shall have estimation among the multitude, and honour with the elders, though I be young.	10 «Tendré gracias a ella gloria entre la gente, y, aunque joven, honor ante los ancianos.
11 I shall be found of a quick conceit in judgment, and shall be admired in the sight of great men.	11 Apareceré agudo en el juicio y en presencia de los poderosos seré admirado.
12 When I hold my tongue, they shall bide my leisure, and when I speak, they shall give good ear unto me: if I talk much, they shall lay their hands upon their mouth.	12 Si callo, esperarán; si hablo, prestarán atención; si me alargo hablando, pondrán la mano en su boca.
13 Moreover by the means of her I shall obtain immortality, and leave behind me an everlasting memorial to them that come after me.	13 Gracias a ella tendré la inmortalidad y dejaré recuerdo eterno a los que después de mí vengan.
14 I shall set the people in order, and the nations shall be subject unto me.	14 Gobernaré a los pueblos, y las naciones me estarán sometidas.
15 Horrible tyrants shall be afraid, when they do but hear of me; I shall be found good among the multitude, and valiant in war.	15 Oyendo hablar de mí, soberanos terribles temerán. Me mostraré bueno entre las multitudes y valiente en la guerra.
16 After I am come into mine house, I will repose myself with her: for her conversation hath no bitterness; and to live with her hath no sorrow, but mirth and joy.	16 Vuelto a casa, junto a ella descansaré, pues no causa amargura su compañía ni tristeza la convivencia con ella, sino satisfacción y alegría».
17 Now when I considered these things in myself, and pondered them in my heart, how that to be allied unto wisdom is immortality;	17 Pensando esto conmigo mismo y considerando en mi corazón que se encuentra la inmortalidad en emparentar con la Sabiduría,
18 And great pleasure it is to have her friendship; and in the works of her hands are infinite riches; and in the exercise of conference with her, prudence; and in talking with her, a good report; I went about seeking how to take her to me.	18 en su amistad un placer bueno, en los trabajos de sus manos inagotables riquezas, prudencia en cultivar su trato y prestigio en conversar con ella, por todos los medios buscaba la manera de hacérmela mía.
19 For I was a witty child, and had a good spirit.	19 Era yo un muchacho de buen natural, me cupo en suerte un alma buena,
20 Yea rather, being good, I came into a body undefiled.	20 o más bien, siendo bueno, vine a un cuerpo incontaminado;
21 Nevertheless, when I perceived that I could not otherwise obtain her, except God gave her me; and that was a point of wisdom also to know whose gift she was; I prayed unto the Lord, and besought him, and with my whole heart I said,	21 pero, comprendiendo que no podría poseer la Sabiduría si Dios no me la daba, - y ya era un fruto de la prudencia saber de quién procedía esta gracia - recurrí al Señor y le pedí, y dije con todo mi corazón:
