Psalms 141

1 LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.	1 Salmo di intelligenza di Davidde, quand' era nella spelonca. Orazione. Alzai il suono delle mie grida al Signore: alzai la mia voce per chieder soccorso al Signore:
2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.	2 Spando dinanzi a lui la mia orazione: ed espongo a' suoi occhi la mia tribolazione.
3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.	3 Mentre vien meno in me il mio spirito, e le mie vie son conosciute da te.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.	4 In questa via, per cui io camminava, hanno occultato per me il laccio.
5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.	5 Me ne stava pensoso mirando a destra, e non era chi avesse di me conoscenza.
6 When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.	6 Ogni scampo mi è tolto, e non havvi chi abbia pensiero dell'anima mia.
7 Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.	7 Alzai le mie grida a te, o Signore: dissi: Tu se' mia speranza, mia porzione nella terra de' vivi.
8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.	8 Da udienza alle mie suppliche, perch'io son formisura umiliato.
9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.	9 Liberami da coloro, che mi perseguitano, perché sono più forti di me.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.	10 Traggi dal carcere l'anima mia, affinchè io dia lode al tuo nome: i giusti stanno aspettando il momento, in cui tu mi sarai propizio.
