Psalms 11

1 In the LORD put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?	1 (Per la fine. Per Voltava. Salmo di David).
2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.	2 Salvami, o Signore, perchè gli uomini pii sono spariti, e la sincerità è venuta meno tra i figli degli uomini.
3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?	3 Ognuno dice menzogne al suo prossimo; con labbra ingannatrici parlano, con doppiezza di cuore.
4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.	4 Il Signore stermini tutte le labbra ingannatrici e la lingua arrogante,
5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.	5 Quelli che dicono: « Renderemo potente la nostra lingua, le nostre labbra sono in nostro potere: chi è che ci possa comandare? »
6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.	6 Per la miseria degli afflitti e il gemito dei poveri, ora mi levo su io, dice il Signore, gli assicurerò la salvezza, agirò liberamente in suo favore ».
7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.	7 Le parole del Signore sono parole sincere, argento passato pel fuoco, purificato nel crogiolo di terra, raffinato sette volte.
	8 Tu, o Signore, ci salverai, ci preserverai da tal genia in eterno.
	9 Gli empi vanno in giro all'intorno; secondo la tua altissima sapienza hai moltiplicati i figli degli uomini.
