1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.	1 Rúbennek, Izrael elsőszülöttjének fiai: – ő volt ugyanis elsőszülöttje, de minthogy meggyalázta atyja ágyát, elsőszülöttségét Józsefnek, Izrael fiának fiai kapták meg s ő nem számított elsőszülöttnek,
2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)	2 hanem Júda lett a legerősebb a testvérei között s az ő törzséből származtak a fejedelmek, az elsőszülöttség pedig Józsefnek jutott. –
3 The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hannoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.	3 Tehát Rúbennek, Izrael elsőszülöttjének fiai Énok, Fállu, Eszron és Kármi voltak.
4 The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,	4 Joel fiai voltak : az ő fia, Sámia, akinek fia Góg, akinek fia Szemei,
5 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,	5 akinek fia Míka, akinek fia Reja, akinek fia Baál,
6 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.	6 akinek fia Beéra, akit Tiglatpilezer, az asszírok királya fogságba vitt és aki Rúben törzsének egyik fejedelme volt. –
7 And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, were the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,	7 Testvéreinek s egész nemzetségének, amikor családjaik szerint összeírták őket, fejedelmei a következők voltak: Jejél, Zakariás,
8 And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon:	8 továbbá Bála, annak az Atáznak a fia, aki Sammának, Joel fiának volt a fia. Ő Ároertől egészen Nébóig és Beelmeonig lakott,
9 And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.	9 kelet felé pedig az Eufrátesz folyóig terjedő puszta bejáratáig telepedett le. Nagyszámú barmuk volt ugyanis Gileád földjén,
10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.	10 és Saul napjaiban hadat indítottak az agariták ellen. Miután ezeket megölték, helyettük ők laktak sátraikban, a Gileádtól keletre eső egész vidéken.
11 And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:	11 Gád fiai pedig velük szemben, Básán földjén, Szelkáig telepedtek le.
12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.	12 Joel volt a fő, Sáfán a második, majd Jánáj és Sáfát következett Básánban.
13 And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.	13 Testvéreik, családjaik szerint a következők voltak: Mikaél, Mesullám, Sebe, Jóráj, Jákán, Zíe és Héber: hét.
14 These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;	14 Ezek voltak Abihail fiai, aki Húrinak volt a fia, aki meg Járának a fia, aki meg Gileádnak a fia, aki meg Mikaélnek a fia, aki meg Jesesinek a fia, aki meg Jeddónak a fia, aki meg Búznak a fia.
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.	15 Ahi, Abiel, Gúni fiának a fia volt a családfő.
16 And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.	16 Gileádot, Básánt, ennek falvait, meg Sáron valamennyi legelővidékét lakták egészen a határokig.
17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.	17 Mindezeket Jótámnak, Júda királyának napjaiban és Jeroboámnak, Izrael királyának napjaiban írták össze.
18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.	18 Rúbennek, Gádnak és Manassze fél törzsének a fiai közül negyvennégyezer-hétszázhatvan harcos, pajzs- és kardviselő, íjász, harcban jártas férfi hadba vonult és
19 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.	19 hadat indított az agariták ellen. Erre az ituriták meg Náfis és Nódáb
20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.	20 segítséget nyújtottak azoknak. Mindazonáltal az agariták és mindazok, akik velük tartottak, a kezükbe jutottak, mert ők segítségül hívták Istent, amikor harcoltak, s Ő meghallgatta őket, mivel benne bíztak.
21 And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.	21 El is fogtak mindent, ami azoké volt: ötvenezer tevét, kétszázötvenezer juhot, kétezer szamarat és százezer embert,
22 For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.	22 sebesülten pedig sokan hullottak el, mert az Úr harcolt velük. Így ők laktak ott helyettük egészen fogságba hurcolásukig.
23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.	23 Manassze fél törzsének fiai a Básán határaitól a Baál-Hermonig és a Szánirig terjedő földet meg a Hermon hegyet lakták, mivel igen sokan voltak.
24 And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.	24 A családok fejei a következők voltak: Éfer, Jesi, Eliél, Ezriél, Jirmeja, Hodavja és Jahdiél. Ők igen vitéz és hatalmas emberek és neves fejedelmek voltak családjaikban.
25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.	25 Elhagyták azonban atyáik Istenét s parázna módra az ország azon népeinek istenei után jártak, amelyeket Isten eltávolított előlük.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.	26 Erre Izrael Istene felingerelte ellenük Fúlnak, az asszírok királyának lelkét és Tiglatpilezernek, Asszúr királyának lelkét s az fogságba vitte Rúbent, Gádot és Manassze törzsének felét s Láhelába, meg a Háborhoz és Árába meg Gózán folyójához vitette őket, s ott is vannak mind a mai napig.
	27 Lévi fiai Gerson, Kaát és Merári.
	28 Kaát fiai Amrám, Jichár, Hebron és Oziel,
	29 Amrám fiai Áron, Mózes és Mirjám. Áron fiai Nádáb, Ábiu, Eleazár és Itamár voltak.
	30 Eleazár Fineeszt nemzette, Fineesz Abisuét nemzette,
	31 Abisue Bokkit nemzette, Bokki Ózit nemzette,
	32 Ózi Zaráját nemzette, Zarája Merajótot nemzette,
	33 Merajót Amarját nemzette, Amarja Ahitóbot nemzette,
	34 Ahitób Szádokot nemzette, Szádok Ahimaászt nemzette,
	35 Ahimaász Azarját nemzette, Azarja Johanánt nemzette,
	36 Johanán Azarját nemzette – ő az, aki a papságot viselte abban a házban, amelyet Salamon Jeruzsálemben építtetett –
	37 Azarja Amarját nemzette, Amarja Ahitóbot nemzette,
	38 Ahitób Szádokot nemzette, Szádok Sallumot nemzette,
	39 Sallum Helkiját nemzette, Helkija Azarját nemzette,
	40 Azarja Száraját nemzette, Száraja Joszedeket nemzette.
	41 Joszedek eltávozott, amikor az Úr fogságba vitette Júdát és Jeruzsálemet Nebukadnezár által.
