1 Then the princes of the families of Levi came to Eleazar the priest, and to Josue the son of Nun, and to the princes of the kindreds of all the tribes of the children of Israel:	1 - I capi delle famiglie di Levi si presentarono al sacerdote Eleazaro, a Giosuè figlio di Nun e ai capi di famiglia delle tribù dei figli d'Israele
2 And they spoke to them in Silo in the land of Chanaan, and said: The Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, that cities should be given us to dwell in, and their suburbs to feed our cattle.	2 e a loro parlarono in Silo, nella terra di Canaan, in questi termini: «Il Signore comandò per mezzo di Mosè che ci fossero date delle città da abitare coi loro sobborghi per pascere il bestiame».
3 And the children of Israel gave out of their possessions according to the commandment of the Lord, cities and their suburbs.	3 E i figli d'Israele diedero [ai leviti] delle loro proprietà, secondo il comando del Signore, città e sobborghi.
4 And the lot came out for the family of Caath of the children of Aaron the priest out of the tribes of Juda, and of Simeon, and of Benjamin, thirteen cities.	4 Si tirò a sorte per la famiglia di Caat, e ai figli di Aronne sommo sacerdote, furono assegnate tredici città fra le tribù di Giuda, di Simeone e di Beniamino;
5 And to the rest of the children of Caath, that is, to the Levites, who remained, out of the tribes of Ephraim, and of Dan, and the half tribe of Manasses, ten cities.	5 mentre agli altri figli di Caat, cioè agli altri leviti furono assegnate dieci città delle tribù di Efraim, di Dan e della metà della tribù di Manasse.
6 And the lot came out to the children of Gerson, that they should take of the tribes of Issachar and of Aser and of Nephtali, and of the half tribe of Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.	6 Ai figli di Gerson vennero assegnate in sorte tredici città delle tribù d'Issacar, di Aser, di Neftali e della metà della tribù di Manasse in Basan.
7 And to the sons of Merari by their kindreds, of the tribes of Ruben and or Cad and of Zabulon, twelve cities.	7 Ai figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie, furono assegnate dodici città delle tribù di Ruben, di Gad e di Zabulon.
8 And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, giving to every one by lot.	8 I figli d'Israele diedero così ai leviti le città e i loro sobborghi, secondo il comando dato dal Signore per mezzo di Mosè, assegnandole a ciascuno secondo la sorte.
9 Of the tribes of the children of Juda and of Simeon Josue gave cities: whose names are these,	9 Della tribù dei figli di Giuda e di Simeone diede Giosuè le città che portano i seguenti nomi.
10 To the sons of Aaron, of the families of Caath of the race of Levi (for the first lot came out for them)	10 Per i figli di Aronne, secondo le loro famiglie, appartenenti alla discendenza del levita Caat (ai quali fu assegnata dalla sorte la prima parte)
11 The city of Arbe the father of Enac, which is called Hebron, in the mountain of Juda, and the suburbs thereof round about.	11 vennero date Cariatarbe, del padre di Enac, che è detto Ebron, tra le montagne di Giuda, unitamente ai sobborghi circostanti;
12 But the fields and the villages thereof he had given to Caleb the son of Jephone for his possession.	12 mentre i campi e i villaggi di esso eran stati dati in possesso a Caleb figlio di Jefone.
13 He gave therefore to the children of Aaron the priest, Hebron a city of refuge, and the suburbs thereof: and Lobna with the suburbs thereof,	13 Diede quindi ai figli del sacerdote Aronne: Ebron, città di rifugio e i suoi sobborghi, Lobna coi suoi sobborghi,
14 And Jether and Estemo,	14 Jeter, Estemo,

16 And Ain, and Jeta, and Bethsames, with their suburbs : nine cities out of the two tribes, as hath been said.	16 Ain, Jeta, Betsames coi loro sobborghi; nove città appartenenti, come fu detto, a due tribù;
17 And out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, Gabaon, and Gabae,	17 mentre della tribù dei figli di Beniamino furono assegnate Gabaon, Gabae,
18 And Anathoth and Almon, with their suburbs: four cities.	18 Anatot e Almon coi loro sobborghi: quattro città.
19 All the cities together of the children of Aaron the priest, were thirteen, with their suburbs.	19 In tutto pei figli di Aronne [vennero assegnate] tredici città coi loro sobborghi.
20 And to the rest of the families of the children of Caath of the race of Levi was given this possession.	20 Al rimanente delle famiglie dei figli di Caat di genere levitico fu dato questo possedimento;
21 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Sichem one of the cities of refuge, with the suburbs thereof in mount Ephraim, and Cater,	21 della tribù di Efraim la città di rifugio Sichem co' suoi dintorni, situata tra i monti di Efraim, e di più Gazer,
22 And Cibsaim, and Beth-horon, with their suburbs, four cities.	22 Cibsaim e Betoron coi loro sobborghi: in tutto quattro città.
23 And of the tribe of Dan, Eltheco and Gabathon,	23 Della tribù di Dan: Elteco, Gabaton,
24 And Aialon and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, four cities.	24 Aialon e Getremmon coi loro sobborghi: in tutto quattro città;
25 And of the half tribe of Manasses, Thanac and Gethremmon, with their suburbs, two cities.	25 mentre della mezza tribù di Manasse furono assegnate le città di Tanac e di Getremmon coi loro sobborghi: due città.
26 All the cities were ten, with their suburbs, which were given to the children of Caath, of the inferior degree.	26 In tutto vennero assegnate ai figli di Caat, di grado inferiore, dieci città coi loro sobborghi.
27 To the children of Gerson also of the race of Levi out of the half tribe of Manasses, Gaulon in Basan, one of the cities of refuge, and Bosra, with their suburbs, two cities.	27 Anche ai figli di Gerson della tribù levitica furono date della mezza tribù di Manasse la città di rifugio Gaulon in Basan, e Bosra coi loro sobborghi: due città;
28 And of the tribe of Issachar, Cesion, and Dabereth,	28 della tribù di Issacar: Cesion, Daberet,
29 And Jaramoth, and Engannim, with their suburbs, four cities.	29 Jaramot ed Engannim coi loro sobborghi: quattro città;

31 ,31And Helcath, and Rohob, with their suburbs, four cities.	31 Elcat e Roob coi loro sobborghi: quattro città;
32 Of the tribe also of Nephtali, Cedes in Galilee, one of the cities of refuge: and Hammoth Dor, and Carthan, with their suburbs, three cities.	32 mentre della tribù di Neftali furono assegnate Cedes in Galilea, città di rifugio, Ammot Dor e Cartan coi loro sobborghi: tre città.
33 All the cities of the families of Gerson, were thirteen, with their suburbs.	33 In tutto le città coi loro sobborghi appartenenti alle famiglie di Gerson furono tredici.
34 And to the children of Merari, Levites of the inferior degree, by their families were given of the tribe of Zabulon, Jecnam and Cartha,	34 Ai figli di Merari, leviti di grado inferiore, furono assegnate, secondo le loro famiglie, della tribù di Zabulon: Jecnam, Carta,
35 And Damna and Naalol, four cities with their suburbs;	35 Damma e Naalol: quattro città coi loro sobborghi;
36 Of the tribe of Ruben beyond the Jordan over against Jericho, Bosor in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Miser and Jaser and Jethson and Mephaath, four cities with their suburbs.	36 della tribù di Ruben al di là del Giordano di fronte a Gerico: Bosor, città di rifugio posta nel deserto, Misor, Jaser, Jetson e Mefaat: quattro città coi loro sobborghi,
37 Of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Galaad, one of the cities of refuge, and Manaim and Hesebon and Jaser, four cities with their suburbs.	37 mentre nella tribù di Gad vennero assegnate Ramot in Galaad, città di rifugio, Manaim, Esebon e Jaser: quattro città coi loro sobborghi.
38 All the cities of the children of Merari by their families and kindreds, were twelve.	38 In tutto le città dei figli di Merari, secondo le loro famiglie e parentele furono dodici.
39 So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight,	39 In tutto pertanto le città dei leviti in mezzo ai possedimenti dei figli d'Israele furono quarantotto
40 With their suburbs, each distributed by the families.	40 coi loro sobborghi ed erano distribuite tra le singole famiglie.
41 And the Lord God gave to Israel all the land that he had sworn to give to their fathers: and they possessed it and dwelt in it.	41 Così il Signore Iddio diede ad Israele tutte le terre che aveva giurato ai padri di dare loro ed essi le possedettero e vi abitarono,
42 And he gave them peace from all nations round about: and none of their enemies durst stand against them, but were brought under their dominion.	42 e venne da Dio concessa la pace con tutte le nazioni circostanti e nessuno dei nemici ardì resistere ad essi, ma tutti furon loro assoggettati.
43 Not so much as one word, which he had promised to perform unto them, was made void, but all came to pass.	43 Neppur una delle parole che Dio aveva dette andò a vuoto, ma tutte si avverarono.
