1 And after six days Jesus taketh unto him Peter and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart:	1 Seis días después, toma Jesús consigo a Pedro, a Santiago y a su hermano Juan, y los lleva aparte, a un monte alto.
2 And he was transfigured before them. And his face did shine as the sun: and his garments became white as snow.	2 Y se transfiguró delante de ellos: su rostro se puso brillante como el sol y sus vestidos se volvieron blancos como la luz.
3 And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elias talking with him.	3 En esto, se les aparecieron Moisés y Elías que conversaban con él.
4 And Peter answering, said to Jesus: Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.	4 Tomando Pedro la palabra, dijo a Jesús: «Señor, bueno es estarnos aquí. Si quieres, haré aquí tres tiendas, una para ti, otra para Moisés y otra para Elías».
5 And as he was yet speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.	5 Todavía estaba hablando, cuando una nube luminosa los cubrió con su sombra y de la nube salía una voz que decía: «Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien me complazco; escuchadle».
6 And the disciples hearing, fell upon their face, and were very much afraid.	6 Al oír esto los discípulos cayeron rostro en tierra llenos de miedo.
7 And Jesus came and touched them: and said to them, Arise, and fear not.	7 Mas Jesús, acercándose a ellos, los tocó y dijo: «Levantaos, no tengáis miedo».
8 And they lifting up their eyes saw no one but only Jesus.	8 Ellos alzaron sus ojos y ya no vieron a nadie más que a Jesús solo.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, till the Son of man be risen from the dead.	9 Y cuando bajaban del monte, Jesús les ordenó: «No contéis a nadie la visión hasta que el Hijo del hombre haya resucitado de entre los muertos».
10 And his disciples asked him, saying: Why then do the scribes say that Elias must come first?	10 Sus discípulos le preguntaron: «¿Por qué, pues, dicen los escribas que Elías debe venir primero?»
11 But he answering, said to them: Elias indeed shall come, and restore all things.	11 Respondió él: «Ciertamente, Elías ha de venir a restaurarlo todo.
12 But I say to you, that Elias is already come, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they had a mind. So also the Son of man shall suffer from them.	12 Os digo, sin embargo: Elías vino ya, pero no le reconocieron sino que hicieron con él cuanto quisieron. Así también el Hijo del hombre tendrá que padecer de parte de ellos».
13 Then the disciples understood, that he had spoken to them of John the Baptist.	13 Entonces los discípulos comprendieron que se refería a Juan el Bautista.
14 And when he was come to the multitude, there came to him a man falling down on his knees before him, saying: Lord, have pity on my son, for he is a lunatic, and suffereth much: for he falleth often into the fire, and often into the water.	14 Cuando llegaron donde la gente, se acercó a él un hombre que, arrodillándose ante él,
15 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.	15 le dijo: «Señor, ten piedad de mi hijo, porque es lunático y está mal; pues muchas veces cae en el fuego y muchas en el agua.
16 Then Jesus answered and said: O unbelieving and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.	16 Se lo he presentado a tus discípulos, pero ellos no han podido curarle».
17 And Jesus rebuked him, and the devil went out of him, and the child was cured from that hour.	17 Jesús respondió: «¡Oh generación incrédula y perversa! ¿Hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo habré de soportaros? ¡Traédmelo acá!
18 Then came the disciples to Jesus secretly, and said: Why could not we cast him out?	18 Jesús le increpó y el demonio salió de él; y quedó sano el niño desde aquel momento.
19 Jesus said to them: Because of your unbelief. For, amen I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove from hence hither, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.	19 Entonces los discípulos se acercaron a Jesús, en privado, y le dijeron: «¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos expulsarle?
20 But this kind is not cast out but by prayer and fasting.	20 Díceles: «Por vuestra poca fe. Porque yo os aseguro: si tenéis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis a este monte: “Desplázate de aquí allá”, y se desplazará, y nada os será imposible».
21 And when they abode together in Galilee, Jesus said to them: The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
22 And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall rise again. And they were troubled exceedingly.	22 Yendo un día juntos por Galilea, les dijo Jesús: «El Hijo del hombre va a ser entregado en manos de los hombres;
23 And when they were come to Capharnaum, they that recieved the didrachmas, came to Peter and said to him: Doth not your master pay the didrachmas?	23 le matarán, y al tercer día resucitará». Y se entristecieron mucho.
24 He said: Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying: What is thy opinion, Simon? The kings of the earth, of whom do they receive tribute or custom? of their own children, or of strangers?	24 Cuando entraron en Cafarnaúm, se acercaron a Pedro los que cobraban el didracma y le dijeron: «¿No paga vuestro Maestro el didracma?»
25 And he said: Of strangers. Jesus said to him: Then the children are free.	25 Dice él: «Sí». Y cuando llegó a casa, se anticipó Jesús a decirle: «¿Qué te parece, Simón?; los reyes de la tierra, ¿de quién cobran tasas o tributo, de sus hijos o de los extraños?»
26 But that we may not scandalize them, go to the sea, and cast in a hook: and that fish which shall first come up, take: and when thou hast opened its mouth, thou shalt find a stater: take that, and give it to them for me and thee.	26 Al contestar él: «De los extraños», Jesús le dijo: «Por tanto, libres están los hijos.
