Psalms 85

DOUAI-RHEIMS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core, a psalm.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Yahweh, you are gracious to your land, you bringback the captives of Jacob,
2 Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob.	2 you take away the guilt of your people, you blot out al their sin.Pause
3 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins.	3 You retract al your anger, you renounce the heat of your fury.
4 Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou best turned away from the wrath of thy indignation.	4 Bring us back, God our Saviour, appease your indignation against us!
5 Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us.	5 Wil you be angry with us for ever? Wil you prolong your wrath age after age?
6 Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation?	6 Wil you not give us life again, for your people to rejoice in you?
7 Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee.	7 Show us, Lord, your faithful love, grant us your saving help.
8 Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation.	8 I am listening. What is God's message? Yahweh's message is peace for his people, for his faithful, ifonly they renounce their folly.
9 I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart.	9 His saving help is near for those who fear him, his glory wil dwel in our land.
10 Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him: that glory may dwell in our land.	10 Faithful Love and Loyalty join together, Saving Justice and Peace embrace.
11 Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed.	11 Loyalty wil spring up from the earth, and Justice wil lean down from heaven.
12 Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven.	12 Yahweh will himself give prosperity, and our soil wil yield its harvest.
13 For the Lord will give goodness: and our earth shall yield her fruit.	13 Justice will walk before him, treading out a path.
14 Justice shall walk before him: and shall set his steps in the way.
