Lettera agli Ebrei 13

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 L’amor fraterno dimori fra voi. Non dimenticate l’ospitalità;	1 Continue to love each other like brothers,
2 perciocchè per essa alcuni albergarono già degli angeli, senza saperlo.	2 and remember always to welcome strangers, for by doing this, some people have entertained angelswithout knowing it.
3 Ricordatevi de’ prigioni, come essendo lor compagni di prigione; di quelli che sono afflitti, come essendo ancora voi nel corpo.	3 Keep in mind those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them; and those who arebeing badly treated, since you too are in the body.
4 Il matrimonio e il letto immacolato sia onorevole fra tutti; ma Iddio giudicherà i fornicatori e gli adulteri.	4 Marriage must be honoured by al , and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexuallyimmoral and adulterers wil come under God's judgement.
5 Sieno i costumi vostri senza avarizia, essendo contenti delle cose presenti; perciocchè egli stesso ha detto: Io non ti lascerò, e non ti abbandonerò.	5 Put avarice out of your lives and be content with whatever you have; God himself has said: I shal notfail you or desert you,
6 Talchè possiam dire in confidanza: Il Signore è il mio aiuto; ed io non temerò ciò che mi può far l’uomo.	6 and so we can say with confidence: With the Lord on my side, I fear nothing: what can human beingsdo to me?
7 Ricordatevi de’ vostri conduttori, i quali vi hanno annunziata la parola di Dio; la cui fede imitate, considerando la fine della loro condotta.	7 Remember your leaders, who preached the word of God to you, and as you reflect on the outcome oftheir lives, take their faith as your model.
8 Gesù Cristo è lo stesso ieri, ed oggi, e in eterno.	8 Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and as he wil be for ever.
9 Non siate trasportati qua e là per varie e strane dottrine; perciocchè egli è bene che il cuor sia stabilito per grazia, non per vivande; dalle quali non han ricevuto alcun giovamento coloro che sono andati dietro ad esse.	9 Do not be led astray by al sorts of strange doctrines: it is better to rely on grace for inner strength thanon food, which has done no good to those who concentrate on it.
10 Noi abbiamo un altare, del qual non hanno podestà di mangiar coloro che servono al tabernacolo.	10 We have our own altar from which those who serve the Tent have no right to eat.
11 Perciocchè i corpi degli animali, il cui sangue è portato dal sommo sacerdote dentro al santuario per lo peccato, son arsi fuori del campo.	11 The bodies of the animals whose blood is taken into the sanctuary by the high priest for the rite ofexpiation are burnt outside the camp,
12 Perciò ancora Gesù, acciocchè santificasse il popolo per lo suo proprio sangue, ha sofferto fuor della porta.	12 and so Jesus too suffered outside the gate to sanctify the people with his own blood.
13 Usciamo adunque a lui fuor del campo, portando il suo vituperio.	13 Let us go to him, then, outside the camp, and bear his humiliation.
14 Perciocchè noi non abbiam qui una città stabile, anzi ricerchiamo la futura.	14 There is no permanent city for us here; we are looking for the one which is yet to be.
15 Per lui adunque offeriamo del continuo a Dio sacrificii di lode, cioè: il frutto delle labbra confessanti il suo nome.	15 Through him, let us offer God an unending sacrifice of praise, the fruit of the lips of those whoacknowledge his name.
16 E non dimenticate la beneficenza, e di far parte agli altri dei vostri beni; poichè per tali sacrificii si rende servigio grato a Dio.	16 Keep doing good works and sharing your resources, for these are the kinds of sacrifice that pleaseGod.
17 Ubbidite a’ vostri conduttori, e sottomettetevi loro; perchè essi vegliano per le anime vostre, come avendone a render ragione; acciocchè facciano questo con allegrezza, e non sospirando; perciocchè quello non vi sarebbe d’alcun utile	17 Obey your leaders and give way to them; they watch over your souls because they must give anaccount of them; make this a joy for them to do, and not a grief -- you yourselves would be the losers.
18 Pregate per noi; perciocchè noi ci confidiamo d’aver buona coscienza, desiderando di condurci onestamente in ogni cosa.	18 Pray for us; we are sure that our own conscience is clear and we are certainly determined to behavehonourably in everything we do.
19 E vie più vi prego di far questo, acciocchè più presto io vi sia restituito.	19 I ask you very particularly to pray that I may come back to you all the sooner.
20 OR l’Iddio della pace, che ha tratto da’ morti il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, il gran Pastor delle pecore, per il sangue del patto eterno,	20 I pray that the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd ofthe sheep, by the blood that sealed an eternal covenant,
21 vi renda compiuti in ogni buona opera, per far la sua volontà, operando in voi ciò ch’è grato nel suo cospetto, per Gesù Cristo; al qual sia la gloria ne’ secoli de’ secoli. Amen.	21 may prepare you to do his wil in every kind of good action; effecting in us al whatever is acceptableto himself through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
22 Ora, fratelli, comportate, vi prego, il ragionamento dell’esortazione; poichè io vi ho scritto brevemente.	22 I urge you, brothers, to take these words of encouragement kindly; that is why I have written to youbriefly.
23 Sappiate che il fratel Timoteo è liberato; col quale, se viene tosto, vi vedrò.	23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set free. If he arrives in time, he will be with mewhen I see you.
24 Salutate tutti i vostri conduttori, e tutti i santi. Quei d’Italia vi salutano.	24 Greetings to al your leaders and to al God's holy people. God's holy people in Italy send yougreetings.
25 La grazia sia con tutti voi. Amen	25 Grace be with you al .
