1 ORA, quando Giosuè fu diventato vecchio ed attempato, il Signore disse: Tu sei diventato vecchio ed attempato, e vi resta ancora molto gran paese a conquistare.	1 Joshua was old and advanced in age, and the Lord said to him: “You have grown old, and are aged, and a very wide land remains, which has not yet been divided by lot,
2 Quest’è il paese che resta: tutte le contrade de’ Filistei, e tutto il paese de’ Ghesuriti;	2 specifically, all of Galilee, Philistia, and all of Geshur;
3 da Sihor, che è a fronte all’Egitto, fino a’ confini di Ecron, verso Settentrione, il paese è riputato de’ Cananei; cioè: i cinque principati de’ Filistei, quel di Gaza, quel di Asdod, quel di Ascalon, quel di Gat, e quel di Ecron, e gli Avvei;	3 from the muddy river, which irrigates Egypt, as far as the border of Ekron toward the north, the land of Canaan, which is divided among the rulers of Philistia: the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkelonites, the Gathites, and the Ekronites;
4 dal Mezzodì, tutto il paese de’ Cananei, e Meara, che è de’ Sidonii, fino ad Afec, fino a’ confini degli Amorrei;	4 truly, to the south are the Hivites, all the land of Canaan, and Mearah of the Sidonians, as far as Aphek and the borders of the Amorite
5 e il paese de’ Ghiblei, e tutto il Libano, dal Sol levante, da Baal-gad, che è sotto il monte di Hermon, fino all’entrata di Hamat;	5 and his confines; also, the region of Lebanon toward the east, from Baalgad, under mount Hermon, until you enter into Hamath;
6 tutti gli abitanti del monte, dal Libano fino alle Acque calde; e tutti i Sidonii. Io li caccerò dal cospetto dei figliuoli d’Israele; spartisci pur questo paese a sorte ad Israele per eredità, come io t’ho comandato	6 all who live in the mountains from Lebanon, as far as the waters of Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am the One who will wipe them out, before the face of the sons of Israel. Therefore, let their land become a part of the inheritance of Israel, just as I have instructed you.
7 Ora dunque spartisci questo paese a nove tribù, e alla metà della tribù di Manasse, in eredità.	7 And now, divide the land as a possession to the nine tribes, and to the one half tribe of Manasseh.”
8 I Rubeniti, e i Gaditi, con l’altra metà della tribù di Manasse, hanno ricevuta la loro eredità, la quale Mosè ha data loro, di là dal Giordano, verso Oriente; secondo che Mosè, servitor del Signore, l’ha data loro;	8 With them, Reuben and Gad have possessed the land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, delivered to them beyond the river Jordan, on the eastern side:
9 da Aroer, che è in sulla riva del torrente di Arnon, e la città che è in mezzo del torrente, e tutta la pianura di Medeba, fino a Dibon;	9 from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon and in the midst of the valley, and all the plains of Medeba, as far as Dibon;
10 e tutte le città di Sihon, re degli Amorrei, il qual regnò in Hesbon, fino a’ confini dei figliuoli di Ammon;	10 and all the cities of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, even to the borders of the sons of Ammon;
11 e Galaad, e le contrade de’ Ghesuriti, e de’ Maacatiti, e tutto il monte di Hermon, e tutto Basan, fino a Salca;	11 and Gilead, as well as the borders of Geshur and Maacati, and all of mount Hermon, and all of Bashan, as far as Salecah;
12 tutto il regno d’Og in Basan, il qual regnò in Astarot, e in Edrei, ed era restato del rimanente dei Rafei; Mosè percosse questi re, e li scacciò.	12 the entire kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned at Ashtaroth and Edrei, (he was among the last of the Rephaim). And Moses struck and destroyed them.
13 Or i figliuoli d’Israele non cacciarono i Ghesuriti, nè i Maacatiti; anzi i Ghesuriti ed i Maacatiti son dimorati per mezzo Israele fino al dì d’oggi.	13 And the sons of Israel were not willing to destroy Geshur and Maacati, and so they have lived in the midst of Israel, even to the present day.
14 Solo alla tribù di Levi Mosè non diede alcuna eredità; i sacrificii da ardere del Signore Iddio d’Israele son la sua eredità, come egli ne ha parlato.	14 But to the tribe of Levi, he did not give a possession. Instead, the sacrifices and victims of the Lord, the God of Israel, these are his inheritance, just as he spoke to him.
15 Mosè adunque diede eredità alla tribù de’ figliuoli di Ruben, secondo le lor nazioni.	15 Therefore, Moses gave a possession to the tribe of the sons of Reuben, according to their families.
16 E i lor confini furono da Aroer, che è in su la riva del torrente di Arnon, e la città che è in mezzo del torrente, e tutta la pianura fino a Medeba;	16 And their border was from Aroer, which is situated on the bank of the torrent Arnon, and in the midst of the valley of the same torrent, with all the flatlands that lead to Medeba;
17 Hesbon, e tutte le sue città che son nella pianura; Dibon, e Bamot-baal, e Bet-baal-meon;	17 and Heshbon, and all their villages, which are in the plains; also Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and the town of Baalmeon,
18 e Iasa, e Chedemot, e Mefaat;	18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,
19 e Chiriataim, e Sibma, e Seret-sahar, nel monte della valle;	19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the mountain of the steep valley;
20 e Bet-peor, e Asdot-pisga, e Bet-iesimot;	20 Bethpeor, and the descending slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;
21 e tutte le città della pianura, e tutto il regno di Sihon, re degli Amorrei, che avea regnato in Hesbon, il qual Mosè percosse, insieme co’ principi di Madian, Evi, e Rechem, e Sur, e Hur, e Reba, ch’erano principi vassalli di Sihon, e abitavano nel paese.	21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdoms of Sihon, the king of the Amorites, who reigned at Heshbon, whom Moses struck down with the leaders of Midian: Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, the commanders of Sihon, inhabitants of the land.
22 I figliuoli d’Israele uccisero ancora con la spada Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, indovino, insieme con gli altri uccisi d’infra i Madianiti.	22 And the sons of Israel killed Balaam, the son of Beor, the seer, with the sword, along with the others who were slain.
23 E i confini de’ figliuoli di Ruben furono il Giordano e i confini. Questa fu l’eredità de’ figliuoli di Ruben, secondo le lor nazioni, cioè: quelle città e le lor villate.	23 And the river Jordan was made the border of the sons of Reuben; this is the possession of the Reubenites, by their families, in cities and villages.
24 Mosè diede ancora eredità alla tribù di Gad, a’ figliuoli di Gad, secondo le lor nazioni.	24 And Moses gave to the tribe of Gad and his sons, by their families, a possession, of which this is the division:
25 E la lor contrada fu Iaser, e tutte le città di Galaad, e la metà del paese de’ figliuoli di Ammon, fino ad Aroer, che è a fronte a Rabba;	25 the border of Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and one half part of the land of the sons of Ammon, as far as Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah;
26 e da Hesbon fino a Ramatmispe, e Betonim; e da Mahanaim fino a’ confini di Debir;	26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath, Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim as far as the borders of Debir;
27 e nella valle, Bet-haram, e Bet-nimra, e Succot, e Safon, il rimanente del regno di Sihon, re di Hesbon; lungo il Giordano e i confini, infino all’estremità del mare di Chinneret, di là dal Giordano, verso Oriente.	27 also, in the valley Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the remaining part of the kingdom of Sihon, the king of Heshbon; the limit of this also is the Jordan, as far as the furthest part of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan on the eastern side.
28 Questa fu l’eredità dei figliuoli di Gad, secondo le lor nazioni, cioè: quelle città e le lor villate.	28 This is the possession of the sons of Gad, by their families, in their cities and villages.
29 Mosè diede ancora eredità alla metà della tribù di Manasse: quella fu per la metà della tribù de’ figliuoli di Manasse, secondo le lor nazioni.	29 He also gave, to the one half tribe of Manasseh and to his sons, a possession according to their families,
30 La lor contrada fu da Mahanaim, tutto Basan, tutto il regno d’Og, re di Basan, e tutte le villate di Iair, che sono in Basan, che sono sessanta terre;	30 the beginning of which is this: from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Og, the king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty towns;
31 e la metà di Galaad, e Astarot, ed Edrei, città del regno d’Og, in Basan. Tutto ciò fu dato a’ figliuoli di Machir, figliuolo di Manasse, cioè: alla metà de’ figliuoli di Machir, secondo le lor nazioni.	31 and one half part of Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, to the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, to one half part of the sons of Machir, according to their families.
32 Queste son le contrade che Mosè diede per eredità, nelle campagne di Moab, di là dal Giordano di Gerico, verso Oriente.	32 Moses divided this possession, in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, opposite Jericho on the eastern side.
33 Ma egli non diede alcuna eredità ai figliuoli di Levi; il Signore Iddio d’Israele è la loro eredità, come egli ne ha lor parlato	33 But to the tribe of Levi he did not give a possession. For the Lord, the God of Israel, is himself their possession, just as he spoke to him.
