DIODATINEW JERUSALEM
ORA, passato il sabato, Maria Maddalena, e Maria madre di Giacomo, e Salome, avendo comperati degli aromati, per venire ad imbalsamar Gesù,1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spiceswith which to go and anoint him.
And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun hadrisen.
They had been saying to one another, 'Who wil rol away the stone for us from the entrance to thetomb?'
E riguardando, vedono che la pietra era stata rotolata, perciocchè era molto grande.4 But when they looked they saw that the stone -- which was very big -- had already been rol ed back.
On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right-hand side, and theywere struck with amazement.
But he said to them, 'There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, whowas crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him.
Ma andate, e dite a’ suoi discepoli ed a Pietro, ch’egli va innanzi a voi in Galilea; quivi lo vedrete, come egli vi ha detto.7 But you must go and tel his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you wil see him, just as he told you." '
And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits;and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
OR Gesù, essendo risuscitato la mattina del primo giorno della settimana, apparve prima a Maria Maddalena, della quale avea cacciati sette demoni.9 Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala fromwhom he had cast out seven devils.
Ed ella andò, e l’annunziò a coloro ch’erano stati con lui, i quali facevan cordoglio, e piangevano.10 She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, andtold them.
Ed essi, udito ch’egli viveva, e ch’era stato veduto da lei, nol credettero.11 But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.
After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into thecountry.
E quelli andarono, e l’annunziarono agli altri; ma quelli ancora non credettero13 These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.
Ultimamente, apparve agli undici, mentre erano a tavola; e rimproverò loro la loro incredulità, e durezza di cuore; perciocchè non avean creduto a coloro che l’avean veduto risuscitato.14 Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them fortheir incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
Ed egli disse loro: Andate per tutto il mondo, e predicate l’evangelo ad ogni creatura.15 And he said to them, 'Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to al creation.
Chi avrà creduto, e sarà stato battezzato, sarà salvato; ma chi non avrà creduto sarà condannato.16 Whoever believes and is baptised wil be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Or questi segni accompagneranno coloro che avranno creduto: Cacceranno i demoni nel mio nome; parleranno nuovi linguaggi;17 These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they wil cast out devils; theywil have the gift of tongues;
torranno via i serpenti; ed avvegnachè abbiano bevuta alcuna cosa mortifera, quella non farà loro alcun nocimento; metteranno le mani sopra gl’infermi, ed essi staranno bene18 they wil pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they wil laytheir hands on the sick, who wil recover.'
And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the righthand of God he took his place,
Ed essi, essendo usciti, predicarono in ogni luogo, operando insieme il Signore, e confermando la parola per i segni che seguivano20 while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word bythe signs that accompanied it.
