Zaccaria 2

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 POI io alzai gli occhi, e riguardai; ed ecco un uomo, che avea in mano una cordicella da misurare.	1 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. It was this: There were four horns.
2 Ed io gli dissi: Dove vai? Ed egli mi disse: Io vo a misurar Gerusalemme, per veder qual sia la sua larghezza, e quale la sua lunghezza.	2 I said to the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these?' He said to me, 'These are the horns whichscattered Judah (Israel) and Jerusalem.'
3 Ed ecco, l’Angelo che parlava meco uscì; e un altro Angelo gli uscì incontro.	3 Yahweh then showed me four smiths.
4 Ed egli gli disse: Corri, parla a quel giovane, dicendo: Gerusalemme sarà abitata per villate; per la moltitudine degli uomini, e delle bestie, che saranno in mezzo di lei.	4 And I said, 'What are these coming to do?' He said to me, '(Those horns scattered Judah so completelythat no one dared to raise his head; but) these have come to terrify them, to throw down the horns of the nationswho raised their horns over the land of Judah to scatter it.'
5 Ed io le sarò, dice il Signore, un muro di fuoco d’intorno, e sarò per gloria in mezzo di lei	5 Then, raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a man with a measuring line in his hand.
6 Oh! oh! fuggite dal paese di Settentrione, dice il Signore; perciocchè io vi ho sparsi per li quattro venti del cielo, dice il Signore.	6 I asked him, 'Where are you going?' He said, 'To measure Jerusalem, to calculate her width and length.'
7 O Sion, scampa; tu, che abiti con la figliuola di Babilonia.	7 And then, while the angel who was talking to me walked away, another angel came out to meet him.
8 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Dietro alla gloria! Egli mi ha mandato contro alle genti che vi hanno spogliati; perciocchè chi vi tocca, tocca la pupilla dell’occhio suo.	8 He said to him, 'Run, and tell that young man this, "Jerusalem is to remain unwal ed, because of the great number of men and cattle inside.
9 Perciocchè, ecco, io levo la mano contro a loro, ed esse saranno in preda a’ lor servi; e voi conoscerete che il Signor degli eserciti mi ha mandato	9 For I -- Yahweh declares -- shal be a wall of fire al round her and I shal be the Glory within her." '
10 Giubila, e rallegrati, figliuola di Sion; perciocchè ecco, io vengo, ed abiterò in mezzo di te, dice il Signore.	10 Look out! Look out! Flee from the land of the north -- Yahweh declares- for I have scattered you to thefour winds of heaven -- Yahweh declares.
11 E molte nazioni si aggiungeranno al Signore in quel giorno, e mi saranno per popolo; ed io abiterò in mezzo di te, e tu conoscerai che il Signore degli eserciti mi ha mandato a te.	11 Look out! Make your escape, Zion, now living with the daughter of Babylon!
12 E il Signore possederà Giuda, per sua parte, nella terra santa; ed eleggerà ancora Gerusalemme.	12 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this, since the Glory commissioned me, about the nations who plunderedyou, 'Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.
13 Silenzio, ogni carne, per la presenza del Signore; perciocchè egli si è destato dalla stanza della sua santità	13 Now look, I shal wave my hand over them and they wil be plundered by those whom they haveenslaved.' Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me!
	14 Sing, rejoice, daughter of Zion, for now I am coming to live among you -Yahweh declares!
	15 And on that day many nations will be converted to Yahweh. Yes, they wil become his people, and theywil live among you. Then you wil know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you!
	16 Yahweh wil take possession of Judah, his portion in the Holy Land, and again make Jerusalem hischoice.
	17 Let al people be silent before Yahweh, now that he is stirring from his holy Dwel ing!
