Salmi 28

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Salmo di Davide IO grido a te, Signore; Rocca mia, non tacere, senza rispondermi; Che talora, se tu ti taci, Io non sia renduto simile a quelli che scendono nella fossa.	1 [Of David] To you, Yahweh, I cry, my rock, do not be deaf to me! If you stay silent I shall be like thosewho sink into oblivion.
2 Ascolta la voce delle mie supplicazioni, mentre io grido a te, Mentre io levo le mani verso l’oracolo della tua santità.	2 Hear the sound of my prayer when I cal upon you, when I raise my hands, Yahweh, towards your Holyof Holies.
3 Non istrascinarmi con gli empi, e con gli operatori d’iniquità, I quali parlano di pace co’ lor prossimi, Ma hanno della malizia nel cuore.	3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with evil-doers, who talk to their partners of peace withtreachery in their hearts.
4 Rendi loro secondo le loro opere, e secondo le malvagità de’ lor fatti; Rendi loro secondo le opere delle lor mani; Da’ loro la lor retribuzione.	4 Repay them as their deeds deserve, as befits their treacherous actions; as befits their handiworkrepay them, let their deserts fall back on themselves.
5 Perciocchè non considerano i fatti del Signore, Nè l’opere delle sue mani, Egli li distruggerà, e non li edificherà	5 They do not comprehend the deeds of Yahweh, the work of his hands. May he pul them down and notrebuild them!
6 Benedetto sia il Signore; Perciocchè egli ha udita la voce delle mie supplicazioni.	6 Blessed be Yahweh for he hears the sound of my prayer.
7 Il Signore è la mia forza ed il mio scudo; In lui si è confidato il mio cuore, ed io sono stato soccorso; Onde il mio cuore festeggia Ed io lo celebrerò co’ miei cantici.	7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield, in him my heart trusts. I have been helped; my body hasrecovered its vigour, with all my heart I thank him.
8 Il Signore è la forza del suo popolo, Ed è la fortezza delle salvazioni del suo unto.	8 Yahweh is the strength of his people, a safe refuge for his anointed.
9 Salva il tuo popolo, e benedici la tua eredità; E pascili, e innalzali in perpetuo	9 Save your people, bless your heritage, shepherd them and carry them for ever!
