Isaías 66

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Así habla el Señor: El cielo es mi trono y la tierra, el estrado de mis pies. ¿Qué casa podrán edificarme ustedes y dónde estará el lugar de mi reposo?	1 Thus says the LORD: The heavens are my throne, the earth is my footstool. What kind of house can you build for me; what is to be my resting place?
2 Todo esto lo hizo mi mano y todo me pertenece –oráculo del Señor–. Aquel hacia quien vuelvo la mirada es el pobre, de espíritu acongojado, que se estremece ante mis palabras.	2 My hand made all these things when all of them came to be, says the LORD. This is the one whom I approve: the lowly and afflicted man who trembles at my word.
3 Se inmola un buey, y se mata a un hombre, se sacrifica un cordero, y se desnuca un perro, se presenta una oblación, y se ofrece sangre de cerdo, se quema un memorial de incienso, y se bendice una iniquidad. Porque ellos han elegido sus propios caminos y se complacen en sus ídolos,	3 Merely slaughtering an ox is like slaying a man; sacrificing a lamb, like breaking a dog's neck; Bringing a cereal offering, like offering swine's blood; burning incense, like paying homage to an idol. Since these have chosen their own ways and taken pleasure in their own abominations,
4 también yo elegiré sus desgracias y les enviaré lo que más temen. Yo llamé, y nadie respondió, hablé, y ellos no escucharon, sino que hicieron lo que me desagrada y eligieron lo que yo no quiero.	4 I in turn will choose ruthless treatment for them and bring upon them what they fear. Because, when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one listened; Because they did what was evil in my sight, and chose what gave me displeasure,
5 ¡Escuchen la palabra del Señor, ustedes que se estremecen ante su palabra! Dicen sus hermanos, los que tienen odio contra ustedes y los rechazan a causa de mi Nombre: «Que el Señor manifieste su gloria, así veremos la alegría de ustedes». Pero son ellos los que se avergonzarán.	5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: Your brethren who, because of my name, hate and reject you, say, "Let the LORD show his glory that we may see your joy"; but they shall be put to shame.
6 Una voz retumba desde la ciudad, una voz sale del Templo: es la voz del Señor que retribuye a sus enemigos.	6 A sound of roaring from the city, a sound from the temple, The sound of the LORD repaying his enemies their deserts!
7 Antes de las contracciones, ella dio a luz; antes de que le llegaran los dolores, dio a luz un hijo varón.	7 Before she comes to labor, she gives birth; Before the pains come upon her, she safely delivers a male child.
8 ¿Quién oyó jamás algo semejante, quién ha visto una cosa igual? ¿Se da a luz un país en un solo día? ¿Se hace nacer una nación de una sola vez? Pero Sión, apenas sintió los dolores, ha dado a luz a sus hijos.	8 Who ever heard of such a thing, or saw the like? Can a country be brought forth in one day, or a nation be born in a single moment? Yet Zion is scarcely in labor when she gives birth to her children.
9 ¿Acaso yo abriré la matriz y no haré dar a luz?, dice el Señor ¿Acaso la voy a cerrar, yo que hago nacer?, dice tu Dios.	9 Shall I bring a mother to the point of birth, and yet not let her child be born? says the LORD; Or shall I who allow her to conceive, yet close her womb? says your God.
10 ¡Alégrense con Jerusalén y regocíjense a causa de ella, todos los que la aman! ¡Compartan su mismo gozo los que estaban de duelo por ella,	10 Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her, all you who love her; Exult, exult with her, all you who were mourning over her!
11 para ser amamantados y saciarse en sus pechos consoladores, para gustar las delicias de sus senos gloriosos!	11 Oh, that you may suck fully of the milk of her comfort, That you may nurse with delight at her abundant breasts!
12 Porque así habla el Señor: Yo haré correr hacia ella la prosperidad como un río, y la riqueza de las naciones como un torrente que se desborda. Sus niños de pecho serán llevados en brazos y acariciados sobre las rodillas.	12 For thus says the LORD: Lo, I will spread prosperity over her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent. As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms, and fondled in her lap;
13 Como un hombre es consolado por su madre, así yo los consolaré a ustedes, y ustedes serán consolados en Jerusalén.	13 As a mother comforts her son, so will I comfort you; in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.
14 Al ver esto, se llenarán de gozo, y sus huesos florecerán como la hierba. La mano del Señor se manifestará a sus servidores, y a sus enemigos, su indignación.	14 When you see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bodies flourish like the grass; The LORD'S power shall be known to his servants, but to his enemies, his wrath.
15 Porque ya viene el Señor en medio del fuego –sus carros son como un torbellino– para descargar su ira con furor y sus amenazas con las llamas del fuego.	15 Lo, the LORD shall come in fire, his chariots like the whirlwind, To wreak his wrath with burning heat and his punishment with fiery flames.
16 Porque el Señor entra en juicio con todos los vivientes por el fuego y por su espada, y serán numerosas las víctimas del Señor.	16 For the LORD shall judge all mankind by fire and sword. and many shall be slain by the LORD.
17 Los que santifican y se purifican para entrar en los jardines, detrás de uno que va en el medio; los que comen carne de cerdo, animales inmundos y ratas, serán aniquilados todos juntos –oráculo del Señor– con sus obras y sus pensamientos.	17 They who sanctify and purify themselves to go to the groves, as followers of one who stands within, they who eat swine's flesh, loathsome things and mice, shall all perish with their deeds and their thoughts, says the LORD.
18 Entonces, yo mismo vendré a reunir a todas las naciones y a todas las lenguas, y ellas vendrán y verán mi gloria.	18 I come to gather nations of every language; they shall come and see my glory.
19 Yo les daré una señal, y a algunos de sus sobrevivientes los enviaré a las naciones: a Tarsis, Put, Lud, Mésec, Ros, Tubal y Javán, a las costas lejanas que no han oído hablar de mí ni han visto mi gloria. Y ellos anunciarán mi gloria a las naciones.	19 I will set a sign among them; from them I will send fugitives to the nations: to Tarshish, Put and Lud, Mosoch, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have never heard of my fame, or seen my glory; and they shall proclaim my glory among the nations.
20 Ellos traerán a todos los hermanos de ustedes, como una ofrenda al Señor, hasta mi Montaña santa de Jerusalén. Los traerán en caballos, carros y literas, a lomo de mulas o en dromedarios –dice el Señor– como los israelitas llevan la ofrenda a la Casa del Señor en un recipiente puro.	20 They shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, on horses and in chariots, in carts, upon mules and dromedaries, to Jerusalem, my holy mountain, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their offering to the house of the LORD in clean vessels.
21 Y también de entre ellos tomaré sacerdotes y levitas, dice el Señor.	21 Some of these I will take as priests and Levites, says the LORD.
22 Porque así como permanecen delante de mí el cielo nuevo y la tierra nueva que yo haré –oráculo del Señor–, así permanecerán la raza y el nombre de ustedes.	22 As the new heavens and the new earth which I will make Shall endure before me, says the LORD, so shall your race and your name endure.
23 De luna nueva en luna nueva y de sábado en sábado, todos vendrán a postrarse delante de mí, dice el Señor.	23 From one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, All mankind shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.
24 Y al salir, se verán los despojos de los hombres que se han rebelado contra mi, porque su gusano no morirá, su fuego no se extinguirá y serán algo horrible para todos los vivientes.	24 They shall go out and see the corpses of the men who rebelled against me; Their worm shall not die, nor their fire be extinguished; and they shall be abhorrent to all mankind.
