Isaías 24

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Miren, el Señor arrasa la tierra y la deja desierta, trastorna su faz y dispersa a sus habitantes.	1 See how Yahweh lays the earth waste, makes it a desert, buckles its surface, scatters its inhabitants,
2 Correrán la misma suerte tanto el pueblo como el sacerdote, el esclavo como su señor, la esclava como su señora, el comprador como el vendedor, el que pide prestado como el que presta, el acreedor como el deudor.	2 priest and people alike, master and slave, mistress and maid, seller and buyer, lender and borrower,creditor and debtor.
3 La tierra es arrasada, sí, arrasada, saqueada por completo, porque el Señor ha pronunciado esta palabra.	3 Ravaged, ravaged the earth wil be, despoiled, despoiled, for Yahweh has uttered this word.
4 La tierra está de duelo, desfallece, el mundo se marchita, desfallecen las alturas junto con la tierra.	4 The earth is mourning, pining away, the pick of earth's people are withering away.

6 Por eso la Maldición devora la tierra y sus habitantes soportan la pena; por eso se consumen los habitantes de la tierra y no quedan más que unos pocos.	6 That is why the curse has consumed the earth and its inhabitants pay the penalty, that is why theinhabitants of the earth have been burnt up and few people are left.
7 El vino nuevo está de duelo, la viña desfallece, gimen los que estaban alegres.	7 The new wine is mourning, the vine is withering away, the once merry-hearted are sighing.

11 Se pide vino a gritos por las calles, se ha apagado toda alegría, ha sido desterrada la alegría del país.	11 People shout in the streets to try to get wine; al joy has vanished, happiness has been banished fromthe country.
12 No queda más que desolación en la ciudad, la puerta ha sido rota a pedazos.	12 Nothing but rubble in the city, the gate has col apsed in ruins.
13 Sí, en medio de la tierra, entre las naciones, sucederá lo que pasa con el olivo, cuando se bajan a golpes las aceitunas, o cuando todavía quedan unos racimos, una vez acababa la vendimia.	13 For at the heart of earth's life, among the peoples, it is as at the beating of the olive trees, as at thegleaning of the grapes when the grape harvest is over.
14 Ellos elevan la voz, gritan de alegría, aclaman desde el poniente la majestad del Señor.	14 They raise their voices, shouting for joy, in Yahweh's honour they shout from the west.
15 Por eso en el oriente se glorifica al Señor, y en las costas del mar, el nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel.	15 'Yes, in the east, give glory to Yahweh, in the islands of the sea, to the name of Yahweh, God ofIsrael!'
16 Desde el confín de la tierra oímos cantar: «¡Gloria al Justo!».	16 We have heard psalms from the remotest parts of earth, 'Glory to the Upright One!' But I thought,'What an ordeal, what an ordeal! What misery for me!' The traitors have betrayed, the traitors have acted mosttreacherously.
17 ¡Terror, fosa y red, contra ti, habitante de la tierra!	17 Fear, the pit and the snare for you, inhabitants of the city!
18 El que huya del grito del terror, caerá en la fosa; el que suba del fondo de la fosa quedará atrapado en la red. Porque están abiertas las compuertas de lo alto y tiemblan los cimientos de la tierra.	18 And whoever flees from the cry of fear wil fal into the pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will becaught in the snare. Yes, the sluice-gates above are open, the foundations of the earth are quaking.
19 ¡La tierra se quiebra, se resquebraja, la tierra se parte, se parte en pedazos, se mueve, se conmueve la tierra!	19 A cracking, the earth cracks open, a jolting, the earth gives a jolt, a lurching, the earth lurchesbackwards and forwards.

21 Aquel día, el Señor pedirá cuenta al ejército de lo alto, en la altura, y a los reyes de la tierra, sobre la tierra.	21 When that day comes, Yahweh wil punish the armies of the sky above and on earth the kings of theearth;
22 Ellos serán reunidos, reunidos en un calabozo, recluidos en una prisión, y después de muchos días tendrán que dar cuenta.	22 they wil be herded together, herded together like prisoners in a dungeon and shut up in gaol, and,after long years, punished.
23 La luna se sonrojará y el sol se avergonzará, porque reinará el Señor de los ejércitos sobre el monte Sión y en Jerusalén, ante sus ancianos resplandecerá la Gloria.	23 The moon will be confused and the sun ashamed, for Yahweh Sabaoth is king on Mount Zion and inJerusalem, and the Glory will radiate on their elders.
