1 Toda sabiduría viene del Señor, y está con él para siempre.	1 All wisdom comes from the LORD and with him it remains forever.
2 ¿Quién puede contar la arena de los mares, las gotas de la lluvia y los días de la eternidad?	2 The sand of the seashore, the drops of rain, the days of eternity: who can number these?
3 ¿Quién puede medir la altura del cielo, la extensión de la tierra, el abismo y la sabiduría?	3 Heaven's height, earth's breadth, the depths of the abyss: who can explore these?
4 Antes que todas las cosas fue creada la sabiduría y la inteligencia previsora, desde la eternidad.	4 Before all things else wisdom was created; and prudent understanding, from eternity.
5 El manantial de la sabiduría es la palabra de Dios en las alturas, y sus canales son los mandamientos eternos.	5 To whom has wisdom's root been revealed? Who knows her subtleties?
6 ¿A quién fue revelada la raíz de la sabiduría y quién conoció sus secretos designios?	6 There is but one, wise and truly awe-inspiring, seated upon his throne:
7 ¿A quién se le manifestó la ciencia de la sabiduría y quién comprendió la diversidad de sus caminos?	7 It is the LORD; he created her, has seen her and taken note of her.
8 Sólo uno es sabio, temible en extremo: el Señor, que está sentado en su trono.	8 He has poured her forth upon all his works, upon every living thing according to his bounty; he has lavished her upon his friends.
9 El mismo la creó, la vio y la midió, y la derramó sobre todas sus obras:	9 Fear of the LORD is glory and splendor, gladness and a festive crown.
10 la dio a todos los hombres, según su generosidad, y la infundió abundantemente en aquellos que lo aman.	10 Fear of the LORD warms the heart, giving gladness and joy and length of days.
11 El temor del Señor es gloria y motivo de orgullo, es gozo y corona de alegría.	11 He who fears the LORD will have a happy end; even on the day of his death he will be blessed.
12 El temor del Señor deleita el corazón, da gozo, alegría y larga vida.	12 The beginning of wisdom is fear of the LORD, which is formed with the faithful in the womb.
13 Todo terminará bien para el que teme al Señor, él será bendecido en el día de su muerte.	13 With devoted men was she created from of old, and with their children her beneficence abides.
14 El principio de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor: ella es creada junto con los fieles en el seno materno.	14 Fullness of wisdom is fear of the LORD; she inebriates men with her fruits.
15 Anidó entre los hombres para siempre y permanecerá fielmente con su descendencia.	15 Her entire house she fills with choice foods, her granaries with her harvest.
16 La plenitud de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor y ella los embriaga con sus frutos:	16 Wisdom's garland is fear of the LORD, with blossoms of peace and perfect health.
17 les colma la casa de bienes preciosos y con sus productos llena sus graneros.	17 Knowledge and full understanding she showers down; she heightens the glory of those who possess her.
18 La corona de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor: ella hace florecer el bienestar y la buena salud.	18 The root of wisdom is fear of the LORD; her branches are length of days.
19 El Señor la vio y la midió, hizo llover la ciencia y el conocimiento, y exaltó la gloria de los que la poseen.	19 One cannot justify unjust anger; anger plunges a man to his downfall.
20 La raíz de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor y sus ramas son una larga vida.	20 A patient man need stand firm but for a time, and then contentment comes back to him.
21 El temor del Señor aleja los pecados: el que persevera en él aparta la ira divina.	21 For a while he holds back his words, then the lips of many herald his wisdom.
22 Un arrebato indebido no puede justificarse, porque el ímpetu de la pasión lleva a la propia ruina.	22 Among wisdom's treasures is the paragon of prudence; but fear of the LORD is an abomination to the sinner.
23 El hombre paciente soporta hasta el momento oportuno, pero al fin se llenará de gozo:	23 If you desire wisdom, keep the commandments, and the LORD will bestow her upon you;
24 él reserva sus palabras hasta el momento oportuno, y los sabios de muchos proclamarán su inteligencia.	24 For fear of the LORD is wisdom and culture; loyal humility is his delight.
25 En los tesoros de la sabiduría están los enigmas de la ciencia, pero el pecador aborrece la religiosidad.	25 Be not faithless to the fear of the LORD, nor approach it with duplicity of heart.
26 Si deseas la sabiduría, observa los mandamientos, y el Señor te la dará abundantemente.	26 Play not the hypocrite before men; over your lips keep watch.
27 Porque el temor del Señor es sabiduría e instrucción: a él le agradan la fidelidad y la mansedumbre.	27 Exalt not yourself lest you fall and bring upon you dishonor;
28 No seas reacio al temor del Señor ni te acerques a él con doblez de corazón.	28 For then the LORD will reveal your secrets and publicly cast you down,
29 No seas hipócrita delante de los hombres y presta atención a tus palabras.	29 Because you approached the fear of the LORD with your heart full of guile.
30 No te exaltes a ti mismo, no sea que caigas y atraigas sobre ti el deshonor: el Señor revelará tus secretos y te humillará en medio de la asamblea, por no haberte acercado al temor del Señor y porque tu corazón está lleno de falsedad.
