Tobías 11

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM

9 La madre corrió a echarse al cuello de su hijo, diciéndole: «¡Ahora sí que puedo morir, porque te he vuelto a ver, hijo mío!». Y se puso a llorar.	9 The mother ran forward and threw her arms round her son's neck. 'Now I can die,' she said, 'I haveseen you again.' And she wept.
10 Tobit también se levantó y, tropezando, salió por la puerta del patio. Tobías corrió hacia él,	10 Tobit rose to his feet and stumbled across the courtyard through the door. Tobias came on towardshim
11 con la hiel del pez en su mano; le sopló en los ojos y, sosteniéndolo, le dijo: «¡Animo, padre!». Después le aplicó el remedio y se lo frotó.	11 (he had the fish's gal in his hand). He blew into his eyes and said, steadying him, 'Take courage,father!' With this he applied the medicine, left it there a while,
12 Luego le sacó con ambas manos las escamas de los ojos.	12 then with both hands peeled away a filmy skin from the corners of his eyes.
13 Entonces su padre lo abrazó llorando y le dijo: «¡Te veo, hijo mío, luz de mis ojos!».	13 Then his father fel on his neck
14 Y añadió: «¡Bendito sea Dios! ¡Bendito sea su gran Nombre! ¡Benditos sean todos sus santos ángeles! ¡Que su gran Nombre esté sobre nosotros! benditos sean los ángeles por todos los siglos!	14 and wept. He exclaimed, 'I can see you, my son, the light of my eyes!' And he said: Blessed be God!Blessed be his great name! Blessed be all his holy angels! Blessed be his great name for evermore!
15 Porque él me había herido, pero tuvo compasión de mí, y ahora veo a mi hijo Tobías». Tobías entró en la casa, lleno de gozo y bendiciendo a Dios en alta voz. Luego informó a su padre sobre el buen resultado del viaje: le contó cómo había recuperado el dinero y cómo se había casado con Sara, hija de Ragüel. Y añadió: «Llegará de un momento a otro, porque está a las puertas de Nínive».	15 For, having afflicted me, he has had pity on me and now I see my son Tobias! Tobias went indoors,joyfully blessing God at the top of his voice. Then he told his father everything; how his journey had beensuccessful and he had brought the silver back; how he had married Sarah the daughter of Raguel; how she wasfol owing him now, close behind, and could not be far from the gates of Nineveh.
16 Tobit salió al encuentro de su nuera hasta las puertas de Nínive, bendiciendo a Dios lleno de alegría. Al verlo caminar con todo su vigor, sin la ayuda de nadie, los habitantes de Nínive quedaron maravillados. Tobit proclamaba delante de todos que Dios había tenido misericordia de él y le había devuelto la vista.	16 Tobit set off to the gates of Nineveh to meet his daughter-in-law, giving joyful praise to God as hewent. When the people of Nineveh saw him walking without a guide and stepping forward as briskly as of old,they were astonished.
17 Después se acercó a Sara, la esposa de su hijo Tobías, y la bendijo, diciendo: «¡Bienvenida, hija mía! ¡Bendito sea Dios, que te trajo hasta nosotros! ¡Bendito sea tu padre, bendito sea mi hijo Tobías, y bendita seas tú, hija mía! ¡Entra en tu casa con gozo y bendición!».	17 Tobit described to them how God had taken pity on him and had opened his eyes. Then Tobit metSarah the bride of his son Tobias, and blessed her in these words. 'Welcome, daughter! Blessed be your God forsending you to us, my daughter. Blessings on your father, blessings on my son Tobias, blessings on yourself,my daughter. Welcome now to your own house in joyfulness and in blessedness. Come in, my daughter.' Thatday brought joy to the Jews of Nineveh,
18 Ese fue un gran día de fiesta para todos los judíos de Nínive, y los sobrinos de Tobit, Ajicar y Nadab, vinieron a compartir su alegría.	18 and his cousins Ahikar and Nadab came to share in Tobit's happiness.
