EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Después de esto, David derrotó a los filisteos y los sometió, despojándolos de Gat y sus poblados.	1 After this David defeated the Philistines and subdued them. From the grip of the Philistines he wrestedGath and its dependencies.
2 También derrotó a los moabitas, y estos pasaron a ser vasallos de David, sometidos a tributo.	2 He also defeated the Moabites; the Moabites became David's subjects and paid him tribute.
3 David derrotó a Hadadézer, rey de Sobá, cuando este iba establecer su dominio sobre el río Eufrates.	3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, which lies in the direction of Hamath, when the lattermounted an expedition to assert his rule on the River Euphrates.
4 Capturó mil carros, siete mil soldados de caballería y veinte mil hombres de a pie, y mutiló todos los caballos de los carros de guerra, reservándose sólo cien.	4 David captured one thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiersfrom him; David hamstrung al the chariot teams, keeping only a hundred of them.
5 Los arameos de Damasco acudieron en auxilio de Hadadézer, pero David derrotó a veintidós mil de esos arameos.	5 The Aramaeans of Damascus came to the help of Hadadezer king of Zobah, but David kil ed twenty-two thousand of the Aramaeans.
6 Luego puso gobernadores en Aram de Damasco, y los arameos pasaron a ser vasallos de David, sometidos a tributo. El Señor daba la victoria a David en todas sus campañas.	6 David then imposed governors in Aram of Damascus, and the Aramaeans became David's subjectsand paid him tribute. Wherever David went, Yahweh gave him victory.
7 David se apoderó de los escudos de oro que llevaban los oficiales de Hadadézer, y se los llevó a Jerusalén.	7 David took the golden shields carried by Hadadezer's guards and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 De Tibjat y de Cun, ciudades de Hadadézer, David trajo una enorme cantidad de bronce, con el que Salomón hizo el Mar de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de bronce.	8 From Tibhath and from Cun, towns belonging to Hadadezer, David captured a great quantity ofbronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pil ars and the bronze implements.

10 le envió a su hijo Hadoram para saludarlo y felicitarlo por haber hecho la guerra y derrotado a Hadadézer, ya que este era su rival. Además, le envió toda clase de objetos de plata, oro y bronce,	10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him on having made war onHadadezer and on having defeated him, since Hadadezer was at war with Tou. He also sent al sorts of objectsmade of gold, silver and bronze,
11 y David consagró también esos objetos, como lo había hecho con la plata y el oro que había traído de todas las naciones: de Edom, de Moab, de los amonitas, de los filisteos y de Amalec.	11 which King David also consecrated to Yahweh, as wel as the silver and gold which he had leviedfrom al the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines and Amalek.
12 Abisai, hijo de Seruiá, derrotó a dieciocho mil edomitas en el valle de la Sal.	12 Abishai son of Zeruiah defeated the Edomites in the Val ey of Salt -- eighteen thousand of them.
13 Luego puso gobernadores en Edom y todos los edomitas pasaron a ser vasallos de David. El Señor daba la victoria a David en todas sus campañas.	13 He stationed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's subjects. Wherever Davidwent, Yahweh gave him victory.
14 David reinó sobre todo Israel, y administraba el derecho y la justicia a todo su pueblo.	14 David ruled over all Israel, administering law and justice to al his people.
15 Joab, hijo de Seruiá, era el comandante del ejército; Josafat, hijo de Ajilud, el heraldo;	15 Joab son of Zeruiah was in command of the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was herald;
16 Sadoc, hijo de Ajitub, y Ajimélec, hijo de Abiatar, eran sacerdotes; Sausá, el secretario;	16 Zadok son of Ahitub and Abiathar son of Ahimelech were priests; Shusha was secretary;
17 Benaías, hijo de Iehoiadá, comandaba a los queretos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los principales al lado del rey.	17 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was in command of the Cherethites and Pelethites; David's sons took firstplace after the king.
