2 Crónicas 29

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ezequías tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Abía, hija de Zacarías.	1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for twenty-nine yearsin Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah.
2 Hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como David su padre.	2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his ancestor David had done.
3 En el año primero de su reinado, el primer mes, abrió las puertas de la Casa de Yahveh y las reparó.	3 In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the Temple of Yahweh, havingrepaired them.
4 Hizo venir a los sacerdotes y levitas, los reunió en la plaza oriental,	4 He then brought in the priests and the Levites, assembled them in the eastern square,
5 y les dijo: «¡Escuchadme, levitas! Santificaos ahora y santificad la Casa de Yahveh, el Dios de vuestros padres; y sacad fuera del santuario la inmundicia.	5 and said to them, 'Listen to me, Levites! First sanctify yourselves, then sanctify the Temple ofYahweh, God of your ancestors, and remove the filth from the sanctuary.
6 Porque nuestros padres han sido infieles haciendo lo malo a los ojos de Yahveh, nuestro Dios; le han abandonado, y apartando sus rostros de la Morada de Yahveh, le han vuelto la espalda.	6 Our ancestors were unfaithful, and did what is displeasing to Yahweh our God. They abandoned him,turned their faces away from Yahweh's home and turned their backs on him.
7 Hasta llegaron a cerrar las puertas del Vestíbulo, apagaron las lámparas, y no quemaron incienso ni ofrecieron holocaustos en el santuario al Dios de Israel.	7 They even closed the doors of the portico, put out the lamps and stopped burning incense and makingburnt offerings in the sanctuary of the God of Israel.
8 Por eso la ira de Yahveh ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y él los ha convertido en objeto de espanto, terror y rechifla, como lo estáis viendo con vuestros ojos.	8 This was why Yahweh's anger fel on Judah and Jerusalem and he made them an object of terror,astonishment and derision, as you can see for yourselves.
9 Por esto han caído a espada nuestros padres; y nuestros hijos, hijas y mujeres se hallan en cautividad.	9 Yes, our ancestors were put to the sword, and our sons, our daughters and our wives were takencaptive because of this.
10 Pero ahora he decidido en mi corazón hacer alianza con Yahveh, el Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros el furor de su ira.	10 I am now determined to make a covenant with Yahweh, God of Israel, so that his fierce anger mayturn away from us.
11 Hijos míos, no seáis ahora negligentes; porque Yahveh os ha elegido a vosotros para que estéis en su presencia y le sirváis para ser sus ministros y para quemarle incienso».	11 Now, my sons, do not be remiss, for Yahweh has chosen you to stand in his presence and serve himby conducting his worship and offering him incense.'
12 Levantáronse entonces los levitas Májat, hijo de Amasay, y Joel, hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de Quehat; Quis, hijo de Abdí, y Azarías, hijo de Yallelel, de los hijos de Merarí; Yoaj, hijo de Zimmá, y Eden, hijo de Yoaj, de los hijos de los guersonitas;	12 The Levites set about it -- Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah, from the Kohathites; Kishson of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehal el, from the Merarites; Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah, from theGershonites;
13 Simrí y Yeiel, de los hijos de Elisafán; Zacarías y Mattanías, de los hijos de Asaf;	13 Shimri and Jeuel, of the sons of Elizaphan; Zechariah and Mattaniah of the sons of Asaph;
14 Yejiel y Simí, de los hijos de Hemán; Semaías y Uzziel, de los hijos de Yedutún.	14 Jehiel and Shimei of the sons of Heman; Shemaiah and Uzziel of the sons of Jeduthun-
15 Estos reunieron a sus hermanos, se santificaron y vinieron a purificar la Casa de Yahveh, conforme al mandato del rey, según las palabras de Yahveh.	15 and gathered their brothers together; they sanctified themselves, and in obedience to the king'sorder, in accordance with the words of Yahweh, they came to purify the Temple of Yahweh.
16 Los sacerdotes entraron en el interior de la Casa de Yahveh para purificarla, y sacaron al atrio de la Casa de Yahveh todas las impurezas que encontraron en el santuario de Yahveh. Los levitas, por su parte, las amontonaron para llevarlas fuera, al torrente de Cedrón.	16 The priests went into the inner part of the Temple of Yahweh to purify it. They brought al the uncleanthings which they found in Yahweh's sanctuary, out into the court of the Temple of Yahweh, where the Levitescol ected them and took them out to the Kidron Val ey.
17 Comenzaron la consagración el día primero del primer mes, y el día octavo del mes llegaron al Vestíbulo de Yahveh; pasaron ocho días consagrando la Casa de Yahveh y el día dieciséis del mes primero habían acabado.	17 They began sanctifying on the first day of the first month, and by the eighth day of the month hadreached Yahweh's portico; thus they took eight days to sanctify the Temple of Yahweh, and by the sixteenth dayof the first month everything was finished.
18 Fueron luego a las habitaciones del rey Ezequías y le dijeron: «Hemos purificado toda la Casa de Yahveh, el altar del holocausto con todos sus utensilios, y la mesa de las filas de pan con todos sus utensilios.	18 They then waited on King Hezekiah and said, 'We have purified the whole Temple of Yahweh, thealtar of burnt offering with al its equipment and the table for the loaves of permanent offering with al theirequipment.
19 Hemos preparado y santificado todos los objetos que profanó el rey Ajaz durante su reinado con su infidelidad, y están ante el altar de Yahveh».	19 We have also got ready and sanctified al the equipment which King Ahaz in his infidelity hadremoved during his reign. It is al ready in front of Yahweh's altar.'
20 Entonces se levantó el rey Ezequías de mañana, reunió a los jefes de la ciudad y subió a la Casa de Yahveh	20 King Hezekiah lost no time but cal ed the officials of the city together and went up to the Temple ofYahweh.
21 Trajeron siete novillos, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos para el sacrificio por el pecado en favor del reino, del santuario y de Judá; y mandó a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, que ofreciesen holocaustos sobre el altar de Yahveh.	21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs and seven goats as a sin sacrifice for the royalhouse, for the sanctuary and for Judah, and he ordered the Aaronite priests to offer them on Yahweh's altar.
22 Inmolaron los novillos, y los sacerdotes recogieron la sangre y rociaron el altar; luego inmolaron los carneros y rociaron con su sangre el altar; degollaron igualmente los corderos y rociaron con la sangre el altar.	22 So they slaughtered the bul s and the priests took the blood and sprinkled it over the altar. They thenslaughtered the rams and sprinkled the blood over the altar; and they slaughtered the lambs and sprinkled theblood over the altar.
23 Acercaron después los machos cabríos por el pecado, ante el rey y la asamblea, y éstos pusieron las manos sobre ellos;	23 Then they brought the goats, the sacrifice for sin, before the king and the assembly who laid theirhands on them.
24 los sacerdotes los inmolaron y ofrecieron la sangre en sacrificio por el pecado junto al altar como expiación por todo Israel; porque el rey había ordenado que el holocausto y el sacrificio por el pecado fuese por todo Israel.	24 The priests slaughtered them and made a sacrifice for sin with their blood at the altar to expiate foral Israel, since the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sacrifice for sin on behalf of al Israel.
25 Luego estableció en la Casa de Yahveh a los levitas con címbalos, salterios y cítaras, según las disposiciones de David, de Gad, vidente del rey, y de Natán, profeta; pues de mano de Yahveh había venido ese mandamiento, por medio de sus profetas.	25 He positioned the Levites in the Temple of Yahweh with cymbals, lyres and harps, in accordancewith the ordinance of David, of Gad the king's seer and of Nathan the prophet, for such was Yahweh's orderconveyed through his prophets.
26 Cuando ocuparon su sitio los levitas con los instrumentos de David, y los sacerdotes con las trompetas,	26 When the Levites stood with David's musical instruments, and the priests with the trumpets,
27 mandó Ezequías ofrecer el holocausto sobre el altar. Y al comenzar el holocausto, comenzaron también los cantos de Yahveh, al son de las trompetas y con el acompañamiento de los instrumentos de David, rey de Israel.	27 Hezekiah ordered the burnt offering to be presented on the altar. And as the burnt offering began,the hymns of Yahweh began too, and the trumpets sounded, to the accompaniment of the instruments of Davidking of Israel,
28 Toda la asamblea estaba postrada, se cantaban cánticos y las trompetas sonaban. Todo ello duró hasta que fue consumido el holocausto.	28 while the whole congregation worshipped, the singers singing and the trumpeters sounding thetrumpets, continuously until the burnt offering was over.
29 Consumido el holocausto, el rey y todos los presentes doblaron las rodillas y se postraron.	29 When the burnt offering was finished, the king and al those present with him fell to their knees andworshipped.
30 Después, el rey Ezequías y los jefes mandaron a los levitas que alabasen a Yahveh con las palabras de David y del vidente Asaf; y ellos cantaron alabanzas hasta la exaltación, e inclinándose, adoraron.	30 Then King Hezekiah and the officials told the Levites to sing praise to Yahweh in the words of Davidand Asaph the seer; and joyfully they sang their praises, then knelt in worship.
31 Después tomó Ezequías la palabra y dijo: «Ahora estáis enteramente consagrados a Yahveh; acercaos y ofreced víctimas y sacrificios de alabanza en la Casa de Yahveh». Y la asamblea trajo sacrificios en acción de gracias, y los de corazón generoso, también holocaustos.	31 Hezekiah spoke again, 'Now that you have consecrated yourselves to Yahweh, come forward andbring thanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh.' Then the congregation brought thanksgiving sacrificesand those who were generous brought burnt offerings.
32 El número de los holocaustos ofrecidos por la asamblea fue de setenta bueyes; cien carneros y doscientos corderos; todos ellos en holocausto a Yahveh.	32 The number of burnt offerings brought by the congregation was seventy bul s, a hundred rams andtwo hundred lambs, al as burnt offerings for Yahweh.
33 Se consagraron también seiscientos bueyes y 3.000 ovejas.	33 The consecrated gifts amounted to six hundred bul s and three thousand sheep.
34 Pero como los sacerdotes eran pocos y no bastaban para desollar todos estos holocaustos, les ayudaron sus hermanos los levitas, hasta que terminaron la labor, y los sacerdotes se santificaron, pues los levitas estaban más dispuestos que los sacerdotes para santificarse.	34 The priests were too few, however, and were unable to dismember al the burnt offerings, so theirbrothers, the Levites, helped them until the work was finished and the priests had sanctified themselves; for theLevites had been more conscientious about sanctifying themselves than the priests had.
35 Hubo, además, muchos holocaustos de grasa de los sacrificios de comunión y libaciones para el holocausto. Así quedó restablecido el culto de la Casa de Yahveh.	35 In addition to the abundance of burnt offerings, there were also the fatty pieces for communionsacrifices and the libations for the burnt offerings. And so the liturgy of Yahweh's Temple was restored,
36 Ezequías y el pueblo entero se regocijaron de que Dios hubiera dispuesto al pueblo; pues todo se hizo rápidamente.	36 and Hezekiah and al the people rejoiced over what God had provided for the people, sinceeverything had happened so suddenly.
