1 E ancora un'altra volta i figliuoli d' Israel feciono male nel cospetto di Dio Signore; il quale sì gli mise nelle mani de' Filistei (sotto la loro servitù) quaranta anni.	1 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.
2 Era uno uomo di Saraa, della schiatta di Dan, il quale avea nome Manue, il quale avea la moglie sterile (cioè che non potea fare figliuoli).	2 And there was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and bare not.
3 Alla quale sì apparì l'angelo di Dio, e sì le disse tu se' sterile, che non puoi avere figliuoli; ma (io ti dico, che) tu concepirai e porterai uno figliuolo.	3 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.
4 Guarda adunque bene, che tu non bei nè vino nè cervogia, e che tu non mangi cosa immonda.	4 Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:
5 Imperciò che tu concepirai e partorirai uno figliuolo, il cui capo guarda che non tocchi nè rasoio nè forbici; imperciò ch' egli sarà Nazareo (cioè santo) di Dio dalla sua fanciullezza e nel ventre della sua madre; ed egli incomincerà a liberare i figliuoli d' Israel delle mani de' Filistei.	5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no rasor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.
6 La quale essendo tornata al marito suo, sì gli disse: uno uomo di Dio sì venne a me, il quale avea il volto angelico, ed era molto terribile. Il quale domandando io, chi egli fosse, e donde venisse, e come si chiamasse per nome, non mel volse dire;	6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came unto me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, very terrible: but I asked him not whence he was, neither told he me his name:
7 ma questo mi respuose: ecco che tu concepirai e parturirai uno figliuolo; guarda che tu non bei nè vino nè cervogia, e che tu non mangi niuna cosa immonda; imperciò che il fanciullo sarà Nazareo di Dio (cioè santo) dalla sua fanciulezza, e nel ventre della madre sua insino al dì della morte sua.	7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.
8 E adorò Manue (e fece orazione) a Dio Signore, e disse: prègoti Iddio Signore, che quello uomo di Dio, il quale tu mandasti, venga un' altra volta, e insegnici quello dobbiamo fare del fanciullo, il quale ci dee nascere.	8 Then Manoah intreated the LORD, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.
9 Esaudì Iddio Manue, pregando egli; e (domandando) sì apparì un'altra volta l'angelo di Dio alla moglie nel campo. Manue, cioè il marito suo, non era con lei. La quale avendo veduto l'angelo,	9 And God hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of God came again unto the woman as she sat in the field: but Manoah her husband was not with her.
10 sì s'affrettò, e corse (fortemente e tostamente) al marito suo; e sì gli nunciò e disse: ecco che ancora m' è apparito quello uomo ch' io avea veduto innanzi.	10 And the woman made haste, and ran, and shewed her husband, and said unto him, Behold, the man hath appeared unto me, that came unto me the other day.
11 Il quale si levò suso, e andò dietro alla donna sua; e venendo a questo uomo, sì gli (parlò, e) disse se' tu colui il quale hai favellato a questa femina? E quegli respuose (e disse): Io sono desso.	11 And Manoah arose, and went after his wife, and came to the man, and said unto him, Art thou the man that spakest unto the woman? And he said, I am.
12 Al quale disse Manue: quando (pregoti) il tuo sermone (e la tua parola) sarà compiuta (e venuta in effetto), che vuogli tu ch' io faccia al fanciullo? e che sono quelle cose, dalle quali si dee guardare?	12 And Manoah said, Now let thy words come to pass. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him?
13 E disse l' angelo di Dio a Manue: da tutte quelle cose, le quali io favellai (e dissi) alla tua moglie, si guardi.	13 And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware.
14 E di ciò che nasce di vigna non mangi; nè vino nè cervogia beva, e non mangi alcuna cosa immonda; e quello ch' io li comandai, sì adempia e guardi (e servi bene).	14 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.
15 E disse Manue all' angelo di Dio : io ti prego che tu acconsenti a' miei preghi, e sì ti facciamo (e cociamo) uno capretto di capre (e uno mangiare di capretti).	15 And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
16 Al quale respuose l'angelo (e disse): se tu mi costringi, io non mangerò tuo pane; ma se tu vuogli fare olocausto (e il sacrifizio) sì lo offerite a Dio. E non sapea Manue, che fosse l'angelo di Dio.	16 And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD.
17 E disse Manue all' angiolo: come è il tuo nome, acciò che se il tuo sermone sarà compiuto (e venuto ad effetto, acciò che) noi ti possiamo fare onore?	17 And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
18 Al quale respuose l'angiolo (e disse): perchè addimandi tu del nome mio, il quale è molto maraviglioso?	18 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
19 E tolse Manue delle capre uno capretto e l'olio e la farina, e puoselo sopra una pietra (facendo e) offerendo a Dio che fa cose maravigliose; ma egli e la sua moglie ragguardavano (fortemente al sacrifizio).	19 So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on.
20 E salendo la fiamma dell' altare (dove era il sacrifizio) insino al cielo, l'angiolo di Dio insieme colla fiamma sì salì (in cielo). La quale cosa vedendo Manue e la moglie sua, cadendo incontanente a terra,	20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
21 non apparì più loro l'angiolo (nè non lo rividdero). E incontanente conobbe Manue, ch' egli sì era l'angiolo di Dio.	21 But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD.
22 E disse alla moglie sua: noi morremo, imperciò che aviamo veduto (l'angiolo di) Dio Signore.	22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.
23 Al quale respuose la donna: se Iddio ci volesse uccidere, egli non avrebbe tolto l'olocausto (e il sacrifizio) e l'olio e la farina delle nostre mani; e ancora non avrebbe mostrato queste cose; nè quelle cose, le quali debbono venire, ci avrebbe dette.	23 But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things, nor would as at this time have told us such things as these.
24 E partorì la moglie di Manue uno figliuolo, (e sì lo chiamò) e puosegli nome Sansone. E crescette il fanciullo, e Iddio gli diede la sua benedizione.	24 And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.
25 E cominciò ad essere lo Spirito di Dio S.gnore con Sansone (ed entrò) nell' oste di Dan fra Saraa ed Estaol.	25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
