1 E stando elli in Iconio, entrorono insieme nella sinagoga de' giudei, e sì efficacemente parlavano (e predicavano), che copiosa moltitudine dei greci e de' giudei si convertirono alla fede.	1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
2 Ma alquanti giudei, li quali non volsero credere, (accesi di malo zelo) concitorono e provocorono molta gente contra gli apostoli e contra gli altri fedeli.	2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
3 Ma egli pur (perseveravano, e) stettero molto tempo predicando con fiducia la fede santa, e Dio confermava la loro dottrina, concedendo loro di fare segni e maraviglie nel popolo.	3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 E (tutta la terra e) la moltitudine della città si divise per questo modo, che alcuni erano per gli apostoli, e alcuni con i giudei.	4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 Ma pure (crescendo e) prevalendo l'impeto dei giudei e de' pagani contra a loro, e apparecchiandosi li loro principi di cacciarli con vergogna, e di volerli lapidare,	5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 avvedendosi di ciò, (gli apostoli) fuggirono alle città vicine, cioè a Licaonia, à Listra e a Derben, e per le contrade dintorno; e quivi predicavano.	6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 Ed essendo nella detta terra di Listra uno sciancato, che così era nato, e non era mai andato,	7 And there they preached the gospel.
8 il quale (molto volontieri) udiva la predicazione di Paulo (e avea fede in lui), avvedendosi di ciò Paulo, (e avendoli compassione,) sì lo sguardò nella faccia;	8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
9 e con grande voce (sì gridò e) disse: sta su ritto in su li tuoi piedi. Onde quello incontanente fu ritto (sano e libero), e andò.	9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 La quale cosa vedendo le turbe (e molti di ciò meravigliandosi, compunti) gridorono tutti in loro. lingua, e dissero: Dii, fatti simili a uomini, sono discesi (del cielo) a noi.	10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
11 E chiamavano Barnaba Iove, e Paulo Mercurio; per ciò ch' era (principale e) duce nel predicare.	11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 (E in tanta crebbe questa fama e opinione, che) eziandio il sacerdote dell' idolo (del Dio) Iove venne con molto popolo alla casa nella quale gli apostoli abitavano (cantando e) con certi tori e corone, per fare loro sacrificio (con tori, come a dii).	12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.
13 Della quale cosa avvedendosi gli apostoli, cioè Barnaba e Paulo, uscirono fuori (molto irati) contra alla detta gente, e stracciandosi le vestimenta, gridorono,	13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
14 e dissero or che fate voi? Noi (non siamo dii, ma) siamo uomini mortali, come voi, e siamo venuti ad annunziarvi (e a predicarvi) che rinunziate alla cultura de' falsi dii, e convertiatevi al vero Dio, il quale fece il cielo e la terra e il mare e ciò che in essi si contiene;	14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
15 il quale nelie passate generazioni lasciò tutte le genti (e tutte le nazioni) andare per diverse loro vie (secondo la libertà del loro arbitrio).	15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
16 E poi sè medesimo diede per noi, venendo di cielo, e fececi e fa molti beni, dandoci la pioggia e li tempi fruttiferi, e sovvenendoci di cibi (corporali quanto è di bisogno per la nostra vita), e' riempie (di gaudio e) di letizia li nostri cuori.	16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
17 E queste (e altre belle e divote) parole dicendo, appena poterono ritrarre le turbe di fare loro. sacrificio.	17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
18 E (dopo questo) sopravenendo di Antiochia e di Iconio certi iudei, (concitorono grande sedizione contra gli apostoli, e) con molta turba (trassero loro addosso a furore con le pietre, e) cacciorono Paulo fuori della città, lapidandolo e credendo che fusse morto (i lasciorono stare).	18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.
19 E attorniandolo li discepoli, (dopo certo spazio) si levò (e tornò in sè) e ritornò nella città (occultamente), e il seguente di se n' andò con Barnaba in Derben.	19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.
20 E poi ch' ebbono predicato alquanto tempo e convertiti molti, tornorono ancora in Listra e in Iconio e in Antiochia,	20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 per confermare e confortare li animi de' discepoli a costanza, (dicendo e) mostrando che per molte tribulazioni è bisogno che noi entriamo nel regno del cielo.	21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
22 E ordinando per tutte le chiese li sacerdoti (e rettori), pregando per loro e digiunando, li raccomandarono a Cristo, in cui credevano (e partironsi).	22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 E passando per Pisidia, vennero in Panfilia.	23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
24 E predicando in Perge, discesero in (una terra che si chiama) Attalia.	24 And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
25 E quindi poi navigorono in Antiochia, dove (come di sopra è detto) furono ordinati apostoli dal Spirito Santo.	25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
26 E quivi congregando li fedeli, narrorono loro quante cose Iddio avea fatto per loro, e come avea aperto l'uscio della fede alle genti pagane.	26 And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
27 E quivi poi rimasero con li discepoli non piccolo tempo.	27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
	28 And there they abode long time with the disciples.
