1 E nella Chiesa di Antiochia erano (molti) profeti e dottori, fra li quali (principalmente) era Barnaba, e uno Simone chiamato Nigro, e Lucio. Cirenese, e Manaen il quale era figliuolo della baila (e nutrice) che fu di Erode tetrarca, e Saulo (il quale poi fu detto Paulo).	1 Now there were, in the Church at Antioch, prophets and teachers, among whom were Barnabas, and Simon, who was called the Black, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen, who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 E ministrando egli (e servendo) al Signore, e digiunando, il Spirito Santo disse loro: segregatemi Barnaba e Saulo in quell' opera (cioè dell' apostolato) alla quale io li ho assunti (cioè eletti).	2 Now as they were ministering for the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said to them: “Separate Saul and Barnabas for me, for the work for which I have selected them.”
3 Allora digiunando e orando, poseno loro le mani in capo, e (confermandoli in apostoli) li mandorono a predicare.	3 Then, fasting and praying and imposing their hands upon them, they sent them away.
4 Ed egli, così dallo Spirito Santo eletti (e mandati), andorono in Seleucia; e quindi navicorono in Cipro.	4 And having been sent by the Holy Spirit, they went to Seleucia. And from there they sailed to Cyprus.
5 Ed entrando nella città di Salamina, predicavano la fede di Cristo nelle sinagoghe de' giudei; e avevano con loro Giovanni (cognominato Marco).	5 And when they had arrived at Salamis, they were preaching the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they also had John in the ministry.
6 E andando così per tutta l'isola (di Cipro) pervennero a Pafo; e quivi trovorono uno malefico e falso profeta giudeo, che avea nome Barjesu,	6 And when they had traveled throughout the entire island, even to Paphos, they found a certain man, a magician, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-Jesu.
7 il quale era con lo proconsolo (cioè) Sergio Paulo, uomo (molto) prudente. Questo Sergio Paulo proconsole, chiamando a sè Paulo e Barnaba, desiderava d'udire la loro dottrina.	7 And he was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man. This man, summoning Barnabas and Saul, wanted to hear the Word of God.
8 Ma contrastava loro Elimas mago, procurando di ritrarre il (detto) proconsolo dalla fede (loro).	8 But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) stood against them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the Faith.
9 Allora Saulo, il quale già si cominciava a chiamare Paulo, acceso di grande zelo (e pieno di grande fervore) sguardandolo (con la faccia turbata),	9 Then Saul, who is also called Paul, having been filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him,
10 si li disse: o uomo pieno d' inganno e d'ogni falsità, figliuolo del diavolo, e inimico d'ogni giustizia, come non cessi di pervertire le vie diritte del Signore?	10 and he said: “So full of every deceit and of all falsehoods, son of the devil, enemy of all justice, you never cease to subvert the righteous ways of the Lord!
11 Or sappi che la mano (e la sentenza) del Signore è sopra di te, e sarai cieco, sì che non potrai vedere il sole insino a certo tempo. E (detta questa parola) incontanente venne una caligine e tenebria sopra gli occhi del detto mago, sì che (perdette il vedere e) andava palpitando, e cercando chi li porgesse la mano.	11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you. And you will be blinded, not seeing the sun for a length of time.” And immediately a fog and a darkness fell over him. And wandering around, he was seeking someone who might lead him by the hand.
12 La quale cosa vedendo (e considerando) il proconsolo credette (in Cristo), maravigliandosi (e dilettandosi) della dottrina del Signore.	12 Then the proconsul, when he had seen what was done, believed, being in wonder over the doctrine of the Lord.
13 E (dopo queste cose) partendosi Paulo e li compagni di Pafo, pervennero in Pergen; e (giunti, il predetto) Giovanni, partendosi da loro, tornò in Ierusalem.	13 And when Paul and those who were with him had sailed from Paphos, they arrived at Perga in Pamphylia. Then John departed from them and returned to Jerusalem.
14 E quelli trapassando (le contrade di) Pergen, ritornorono in Antiochia; ed entrando nella sinagoga (de' giudei) uno sabbato, sedettero (con loro).	14 Yet truly, they, traveling on from Perga, arrived at Antioch in Pisidia. And upon entering the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sat down.
15 E poi che fu letta (secondo il loro modo) certa lezione della legge e de' profeti, li principi della sinagoga dissero loro: fratelli nostri, se voi avete a dire alcuna parola di maestramento (o di conforto), ditela al popolo, (come a voi piace).	15 Then, after the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent to them, saying: “Noble brothers, if there is in you any word of exhortation to the people, speak.”
16 Allora Paulo levandosi, e accennando con mano che tutti tacessero, disse: o uomini israeliti, e tutti che temete Iddio, udite:	16 Then Paul, rising up and motioning for silence with his hand, said: “Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen closely.
17 Dio del popolo d' Israel elesse li nostri padri (antichi), ed esaltò questo popolo (liberandolo) essendo forestiere in la terra (della servitù del re) d' Egitto; e con la potenza del suo braccio trasse e menolli per il deserto.	17 The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people, when they were settlers in the land of Egypt. And with an exalted arm, he led them away from there.
18 E sopportò li loro costumi per anni XL.	18 And throughout a time of forty years, he endured their behavior in the desert.
19 E distrusse (e cacciò) VII popoli delle contrade di Canaan; e divise per sorte (e per parte) le terre di quelli popoli, e dielle loro a possedere,	19 And by destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided their land among them by lot,
20 quasi dopo quattrocento e cinquanta anni ( ch' egli erano stati in Egitto); e poi mandò loro certi (rettori e) giudici insino al tempo di Samuel profeta.	20 after about four hundred and fifty years. And after these things, he gave them judges, even until the prophet Samuel.
21 E poi dimandando elli e volendo avere (sopra sè) re, diede loro (per re) Saul figliuolo di Cis della schiatta di Beniamin, il quale regnò sopra di loro anni XL.	21 And later on, they petitioned for a king. And God gave them Saul, the son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
22 E morto questo, diede loro David; il quale molto laudando, disse: io ho trovato uno uomo secondo il cuore mio, il quale farà tutte le volontà mie.	22 And having removed him, he raised up for them king David. And offering testimony about him, he said, ‘I have found David, the son of Jesse, to be a man according to my own heart, who will accomplish all that I will.’
23 Del seme del quale, secondo la promessa (che fatta gli avea, dicendo: del frutto del ventre tuo porrò sopra la sedia mia) fece nascere (e mandò) il salvatore Iesù (benedetto),	23 From his offspring, according to the Promise, God has brought Jesus the Savior to Israel.
24 secondo che Giovanni (Battista, suo precursore) li rende testimonianza, predicando inanzi a lui, e dando battesmo di penitenza a tutto il popolo d' Israel.	24 John was preaching, before the face of his advent, a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.
25 Il quale Giovanni, compiendo il corso suo, (e vedendo che li giudei il reputavano Cristo) sì disse (loro, umiliandosi): io non son Cristo, come voi vi imaginate, ma elli verrà dopo me; e io non son degno di sciogliere le correggie delle sue calzamente.	25 Then, when John completed his course, he was saying: ‘I am not the one you consider me to be. For behold, one arrives after me, the shoes of whose feet I am not worthy to loosen.’
26 Fratelli miei, e figliuoli della generazione di Abraam, e voi altri tutti che temete Dio, a voi è mandata questa parola (cioè lo evangelio) della salute.	26 Noble brothers, sons of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, it is to you the Word of this salvation has been sent.
27 Chè (sapete che) quelli che àbitano in Ierusalem, e li loro principi, non conoscendo Iesù, nè intendendo le parole (delle profezie) de' profeti, le quali ogni sabbato si leggono (nelle sinagoghe), giudicarono Cristo, secondo che li profeti avevano pronunziato.	27 For those who were living in Jerusalem, and its rulers, heeding neither him, nor the voices of the Prophets that are read on every Sabbath, fulfilled these by judging him.
28 E non trovando contra di lui cagione (degna) di morte, domandorono (a furore) da Pilato (preside), che il crucifiggesse.	28 And although they found no case for death against him, they petitioned Pilate, so that they might put him to death.
29 E poi che (questo fu fatto e) furono compiute quelle cose le quali di lui erano (state profetate e) scritte, deponendolo (li suoi amici) della croce, sì il posero nel monumento.	29 And when they had fulfilled everything that had been written about him, taking him down from the tree, they placed him in a tomb.
30 Ma Dio il resuscitò il terzo dì; e apparve più volte alli suoi discepoli,	30 Yet truly, God raised him up from the dead on the third day.
31 li quali ascesero di Galilea in Ierusalem, e al di d'oggi li son testimonii dinanzi al popolo.	31 And he was seen for many days by those who went up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who even now are his witnesses to the people.
32 Noi adunque vi (predichiamo e) annunziamo (questo bene e) questa promissione che fu (promessa e) fatta alli nostri (antichi) padri.	32 And we are announcing to you that the Promise, which was made to our fathers,
33 E halla Dio compiuta a' nostri figliuoli, risuscitaudo (il suo figliuolo) Iesù, secondo ch' elli mostra nel secondo salmo, quando dice: tu sei figliuolo mio, io oggi ti ho generato.	33 has been fulfilled by God for our children by raising up Jesus, just as it has been written in the second Psalm also: ‘You are my Son. This day I have begotten you.’
34 E suscitandolo da morte, li donò incorruzione (sì che mai più non morisse, nè mai si corrumpesse), secondo che David profetò,	34 Now, since he raised him from the dead, so as to no longer return to corruption, he has said this: ‘I will give to you the holy things of David, the faithful one.’
35 dicendo nel salmo: non darai il Santo tuo a vedere la corruzione; (chè già questa profezia non si può intendere di David).	35 And also then, in another place, he says: ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see corruption.’
36 Però che David secondo la voluntà di Dio, compiuto il suo ministerio, morì; e fu sepellito con li padri suoi, e vidde (e sentì) corruzione.	36 For David, when he had ministered to his generation in accordance with the will of God, fell asleep, and he was placed next to his fathers, and he saw corruption.
37 Ma (questo s' intende di) Cristo (il quale, come detto è) risuscitando, non vidde corruzione.	37 Yet truly, he whom God has raised from the dead has not seen corruption.
38 Sappiate adunque per certo, fratelli miei, che per questo (Cristo) è (fatta e) donata la remissione di tutti li peccati, delli quali non poteste essere liberati per la legge di Moisè.	38 Therefore, let it be known to you, noble brothers, that through him is announced to you remission from sins and from everything by which you were not able to be justified in the law of Moses.
39 Ma in costui (e per costui, cioè Cristo,) è giustificato (perfettamente) chiunque (in lui) crede.	39 In him, all who believe are justified.
40 Vedete adunque (e guardate) che non vi sopravenga (e che non compia in voi) quella profezia, per la quale dice Dio:	40 Therefore, be careful, lest what was said by the Prophets may overwhelm you:
41 Vedete, dispregiatori, e meravigliatevi e dispergetevi; chè io adopero una opera delli vostri dì, la quale non crederete a chi la vi dirà.	41 ‘You despisers! Look, and wonder, and be scattered! For I am working a deed in your days, a deed which you would not believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.’ ”
42 (E detto Paulo queste parole, si partì con li suoi compagni). E uscendo della sinagoga, (quelli giudei) il pregorono il sabbato seguente a dire ancora e ripetere le dette parole.	42 Then, as they were departing, they asked them if, on the following Sabbath, they might speak these words to them.
43 E partendosi da loro, sì li seguitorono molti giudei e altri aventicci, che credevano in Dio; li quali Paulo e Barnaba confortavano di perseverare nella grazia di Dio.	43 And when the synagogue had been dismissed, many among the Jews and the new worshipers were following Paul and Barnabas. And they, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 E (divulgandosi la loro fama in questo mezzo, venendo) il sabbato seguente quasi tutta la città si raunò a udirli parlare della fede di Dio.	44 Yet truly, on the following Sabbath, nearly the entire city came together to hear the Word of God.
45 La quale cosa vedendo li (prìncipi de') giudei, accesi (e pieni) di malo zelo contradicevano (arditamente) a quelle cose le quali Paulo predicava, biastemando (e dicendo male di lui).	45 Then the Jews, seeing the crowds, were filled with envy, and they, blaspheming, contradicted the things that were being said by Paul.
46 Allora Paulo e Barnaba costantemente dissero loro: convenivasi che noi prima predicassimo a voi l'evangelio di Dio; ma poi che il rifiutate, e vi giudicate (e fatevi) indegni di vita eterna, ecco che (ci partiamo quindi da voi, e) predicaremo alle genti pagare ·	46 Then Paul and Barnabas said firmly: “It was necessary to speak the Word of God first to you. But because you reject it, and so judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.
47 Che così mostrò la profezia, che dice (di Cristo, cioè): io ti ho posto in luce delle genti, sì che sia in salute a quelle insino alle estremità della terra.	47 For so has the Lord instructed us: ‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”
48 Le quali parole udendo quelli ch' erano nati da gentili e pagani, molto furono lieti, e glorificavano Iddio e il suo evangelio; e credettero (e) ricevettero il battesimo) tutti quelli ch' erano preordinati a vita eterna.	48 Then the Gentiles, upon hearing this, were gladdened, and they were glorifying the Word of the Lord. And as many as believed were preordained to eternal life.
49 E l'evangelio si predicava pubblicamente per tutta quella contrada.	49 Now the word of the Lord was disseminated throughout the entire region.
50 Onde li giudei (turbati) concitorono certe donne religiose (secondo l'usanza della legge) e li maggiori della città, e dissono loro molto male di Paulo e di Barnaba; e cacciaronli delle loro contrade.	50 But the Jews incited some devout and honest women, and the leaders of the city. And they stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas. And they drove them away from their parts.
51 Ma elli scuotendosi li piedi della polvere (per loro dispetto, si partirono da loro, e) vennero a Iconio.	51 But they, shaking the dust from their feet against them, went on to Iconium.
52 E tutti li discepoli convertironsi in gaudio, e riempievansi di Spirito Santo.	52 The disciples were likewise filled with gladness and with the Holy Spirit.
