1 E appressandosi a Ierusalem, ed essendo venuto a Betfage al monte Oliveto, mandò [Iesù] due de' discepoli suoi.	1 And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto mount Olivet, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 E disse loro: andate nel castello il qual è di rincontro, e incontanente troverete una asina legata, e uno poledro con lei; scioglietela, e menatela a me.	2 Saying to them: Go ye into the village that is over against you, and immediately you shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me.
3 E se niuno vi dicesse nulla, dicete: il Signore n' ha bisogno; e immantinente vi lasciaranno tòrre.	3 And if any man shall say anything to you, say ye, that the Lord hath need of them: and forthwith he will let them go.
4 E tutto questo è fatto, acciò che si impiesse quello che disse il profeta:	4 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
5 Dite alla figliuola di Sion: ecco il tuo re viene a te mansueto, e siede sopra l'asina, e sopra il poledro suo subiugale.	5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion: Behold thy king cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of her that is used to the yoke.
6 Andorono li discepoli, e fecero sì come loro aveva comandato Iesù.	6 And the disciples going, did as Jesus commanded them.
7 E menorono l' asina e il poledro; e puoseno sopra l'asina le sue vestimenta, e fecerlo sedere sopra lei.	7 And they brought the ass and the colt, and laid their garments upon them, and made him sit thereon.
8 E molta turba di gente si traevano le vestimenta da dosso, e distendevanle nella via; e molti tagliavano li rami d'albori, e ponevangli. nella via.	8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way: and others cut boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way:
9 E le turbe che gli andavano dinanzi, e quelli che andavano dietro, gridavano e diceano: salvaci, figliuolo di David; benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore; salvaci ne' luoghi altissimi.	9 And the multitudes that went before and that followed, cried, saying: Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
10 Ed entrando in Ierusalem, tutta la città si commosse; e dicevano: chi è costui?	10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, the whole city was moved, saying: Who is this?
11 E il popolo diceva: costui è Iesù, profeta, di Nazaret di Galilea.	11 And the people said: This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth of Galilee.
12 Ed entrando Iesù nel tempio di Dio, cacciò fuori tutti quelli che vendevano e compravano nel tempio; (e le tavole) e' banchi de' cambiatori, e le sedie di quelli che vendevano (e compravano) li colombi, tutti gittò per terra.	12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the chairs of them that sold doves:
13 E disse loro scritto è: la casa mia è chiamata casa di orazione; e voi l'avete fatta spelonca di ladroni.	13 And he saith to them: It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
14 E in questo vennero a lui ciechi e zoppi; e sanògli.	14 And there came to him the blind and the lame in the temple; and he healed them.
15 E vedendo (queste cose) li principi de' sacerdoti e li Scribi le maravigliose cose che facea, e anche li fanciulli che gridavano e dicevano: o figliuolo di David, fa noi salvi, (e) indignati	15 And the chief priests and scribes, seeing the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying: Hosanna to the son of David; were moved with indignation.
16 dissero: odi tu quel che dicono costoro? E Iesù disse a loro: non avete voi letto, che Dio per la bocca de' fanciulli, e di quelli che pigliano il latte, ha fatto laude perfette?	16 And said to him: Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus said to them: Yea, have you never read: Out of the mouth of infants and of sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
17 E allora li lasciò; e andò fuora della città in Betania, e li stava (e predicava il regno).	17 And leaving them, he went out of the city into Bethania, and remained there.
18 Fatta la mattina, ritornò nella città, e (Iesù) ebbe fame.	18 And in the morning, returning into the city, he was hungry.
19 Vedendo uno arbore di fico appresso la via, venne a esso; e in quello, altro non trovò salvo le foglie, e dissegli: più da te non esca frutto in sempiterno. E incontanente fu seccata la ficaia.	19 And seeing a certain fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only, and he saith to it: May no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.
20 E vedendo li discepoli, meravigliaronsi, dicendo come? incontanente egli è seccato?	20 And the disciples seeing it wondered, saying: How is it presently withered away?
21 Respondendo Iesù gli disse: in verità io vi dico: se voi averete fede, e non dubiterete, non solamente farete simile della ficaia, ma se direte a questo monte: (monte) lèvati e gittati nel mare, sarà fatto.	21 And Jesus answering, said to them: Amen, I say to you, if you shall have faith, and stagger not, not only this of the fig tree shall you do, but also if you shall say to this mountain, Take up and cast thyself into the sea, it shall be done.
22 E tutto quello che voi domanderete nella orazione credendo, ottenerete.	22 And in all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.
23 Ed essendo venuto nel tempio, insegnando e ammaestrando, vennero a lui li principi de' sacerdoti, e li antiqui del popolo, dicendo: in cui potestà fai queste cose? e chi ti ha dato tal potere?	23 And when he was come into the temple, there came to him, as he was teaching, the chief priests and ancients of the people, saying: By what authority dost thou these things? and who hath given thee this authority?
24 Respondendo Iesù disse a loro: domanderovvi etiam io uno parlare; il qual se a me il direte, dirovvi in qual [potere] faccio queste cose.	24 Jesus answering, said to them: I also will ask you one word, which if you shall tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 (Ditemi:) il battesimo di Ioanne donde era? dal cielo, ovvero dalli uomini? Ma quelli pensavano intra sè, dicendo:	25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven or from men? But they thought within themselves, saying:
26 Se noi diremo: dal cielo, egli dirà a noi: il perchè adunque [non] gli avete creduto? Ma se diremo: egli è dalli uomini, temiamo la turba; imperò che tutti aveano Ioanne come profeta.	26 If we shall say, from heaven, he will say to us: Why then did you not believe him? But if we shall say, from men, we are afraid of the multitude: for all held John as a prophet.
27 E rispondendo loro a Iesù, dissero: non sappiamo. Ed egli disse: nè etiam io vi dirò, in qual potestà io faccio queste tali opere.	27 And answering Jesus, they said: We know not. He also said to them: Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
28 Ma a voi, che vi pare? Egli era uno uomo il qual avea due figliuoli; andando al primo, sì li disse: figliuolo, vattene oggi a lavorare nella mia vigna.	28 But what think you? A certain man had two sons; and coming to the first, he said: Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
29 E quello rispose: non voglio. Ma dopo, pentito, sì vi andò.	29 And he answering, said: I will not. But afterwards, being moved with repentance, he went.
30 E andò dall' altro, e dissegli simigliantemente. E quello rispose: vonne, signore; ed egli non andò.	30 And coming to the other, he said in like manner. And he answering, said: I go, Sir; and he went not.
31 Qual di questi due fece la volontà del padre? Quelli dicono: il primo. Alli quali disse Iesù; in verità vi dico che li pubblicani e le meretrici vi precederanno nel regno di Dio.	31 Which of the two did the father's will? They say to him: The first. Jesus saith to them: Amen I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots shall go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 Egli è venuto Ioanne a voi nella via di giustizia, e voi non li avete creduto; ma li pubblicani e le meretrici gli credettero; e voi, vedendo, dopo non faceste penitenza, acciò li credeste.	32 For John came to you in the way of justice, and you did not believe him. But the publicans and the harlots believed him: but you, seeing it, did not even afterwards repent, that you might believe him.
33 Udite un' altra parabola. Era uno uomo padre di famiglia, il qual piantò una vigna, e intorniolla di siepe, e fecevi canali; ed edificò una torre (nel mezzo della vigna), e allogolla a certi lavoratori; e (fatto che ebbe questo) andò in viaggio.	33 Hear ye another parable. There was a man an householder, who planted a vineyard, and made a hedge round about it, and dug in it a press, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen; and went into a strange country.
34 E approssimandosi il tempo di raccogliere li frutti, mandò li servi suoi ai lavoratori, per li frutti.	34 And when the time of the fruits drew nigh, he sent his servants to the husbandmen that they might receive the fruits thereof.
35 E i lavoratori presero i servi suoi, e alcuni batterono, e alcuni di loro uccisero, e alcuni lapidorono.	35 And the husbandmen laying hands on his servants, beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Ed egli mandò anche altri suoi servi, più che quelli di prima; ed egli fecero a loro il simigliante.	36 Again he sent other servants more than the former; and they did to them in like manner.
37 All' ultimo mando'li il suo figliuolo, dicendo: egli temeranno il mio figliuolo.	37 And last of all he sent to them his son, saying: They will reverence my son.
38 Vedendo li lavoratori il figliuolo, dissero infra loro: questo è (il figliuolo ed) erede; andiamo, e uccidiamolo, e averemo la sua eredità.	38 But the husbandmen seeing the son, said among themselves: This is the heir: come, let us kill him, and we shall have his inheritance.
39 E preso che l' ebbero, menoronlo fuora della vigna, e lo uccisero.	39 And taking him, they cast him forth out of the vineyard, and killed him.
40 Quando venerà il signore della vigna, che farà a quelli lavoratori?	40 When therefore the lord of the vineyard shall come, what will he do to those husbandmen?
41 Ed egli dissero, che li rei lavoratori malamente ucciderà, e la vigna sua allogherà ad altri lavoratori, che renderanno li frutti a' tempi suoi.	41 They say to him: He will bring those evil men to an evil end; and will let out his vineyard to other husbandmen, that shall render him the fruit in due season.
42 E disse a loro fesù: non leggeste mai nella Scrittura, che la pietra la qual molti lavoratori la riprovarono, alla fine fu posta in un canto? Onde dal Signore è fatto questo, ed è cosa molto maravigliosa nelli nostri occhi?	42 Jesus saith to them: Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes.
43 E imperò vi dico, che a voi sarà tolto il regno di Dio, e dato a gente che facciano li frutti nelli tempi suoi.	43 Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof.
44 E colui che caderà sopra questa pietra, si fiaccarà; ma colui sopra il quale caderà, spezzarà lui.	44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone, shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it shall grind him to powder.
45 E udendo li prìncipi de' sacerdoti e Farisei queste parole, conobbero che diceva di loro.	45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they knew that he spoke of them.
46 E volsenlo pigliare; ma lasciorono per paura delle turbe, imperò che l' avevano come profeta.	46 And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet.
