Ieremia 7

1 Questa è la parola la quale disse Iddio a Ieremia:	1 The following message came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
2 Sta nella porta della casa del Signore, e prèdica ivi questo, e di': tutti voi di Giuda, udite la parola del Signore, i quali entrate per queste porte per adorare il Signore.	2 Stand at the gate of the house of the LORD, and there proclaim this message: Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who enter these gates to worship the LORD!
3 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Dio d' Israel; fate buone le vostre vie e li vostri studii, e io abiterò con voi in questo luogo.	3 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Reform your ways and your deeds, so that I may remain with you in this place.
4 Non vogliate aver confidenza nelle parole mendaci, dicendo: templo del Signore, templo del Signore, templo del Signore, questo è.	4 Put not your trust in the deceitful words: "This is the temple of the LORD! The temple of the LORD! The temple of the LORD!"
5 Però che se voi dirizzerete bene le vie vostre e li studii vostri; se giudicherete bene tra l'uomo e il suo prossimo;	5 Only if you thoroughly reform your ways and your deeds; if each of you deals justly with his neighbor;
6 al forestiere, al pupillo e alla vedova non farete ingiuria; nè anco spargerete il sangue innocente in questo luogo, e non anderete dopo li dii d'altrui in male a voi stessi;	6 if you no longer oppress the resident alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you no longer shed innocent blood in this place, or follow strange gods to your own harm,
7 abiterò con voi in questo luogo, nella terra la qual diedi a' padri vostri dal principio insino alla fine.	7 will I remain with you in this place, in the land which I gave your fathers long ago and forever.
8 Ecco, voi avete fiducia nelle parole mendaci, le quali non vi saranno utili,	8 But here you are, putting your trust in deceitful words to your own loss!
9 (però che voi vi dilettate) nelli furti, uccisioni, adulterii, falsi giuramenti, di sacrificare all' idolo Baalim, e di andare dopo li dii d'altrui, i quali voi non conoscete.	9 Are you to steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal, go after strange gods that you know not,
10 E siete poi venuti e stati in questa casa dinanzi a me, nella quale è invocato il mio nome, e avete detto: noi siamo liberati, però che noi abbiamo fatto tutte queste abominazioni.	10 and yet come to stand before me in this house which bears my name, and say: "We are safe; we can commit all these abominations again"?
11 Or non è egli adunque fatto questo templo una spelonca di ladroni, nel quale è invocato il mio nome, dinanzi agli occhi vostri? io, io sono; io vidi, dice il Signore.	11 Has this house which bears my name become in your eyes a den of thieves? I too see what is being done, says the LORD.
12 Andate al luogo mio in Silo, dove abitò il mio nome dal principio; e vedete quello io feci a lui per cagione della malizia del populo mio Israel.	12 You may go to Shiloh, which I made the dwelling place of my name in the beginning. See what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 E ora, per che voi avete fatto tutte queste cose, dice Iddio; e hovvi parlato levandomi la mattina per tempo, e parlando non m' avete udito; io vi chiamai e non m' avete risposto;	13 And now, because you have committed all these misdeeds, says the LORD, because you did not listen, though I spoke to you untiringly; because you did not answer, though I called you,
14 io farò a questa casa, nella qual è invocato il mio nome e nella qual voi avete fiducia, e al luogo il qual io diedi a voi e alli padri vostri, sì come io feci a Silo.	14 I will do to this house named after me, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, just as I did to Shiloh.
15 E caccerovvi dalla mia faccia, sì come cacciai tutti i vostri fratelli, tutto il seme di Efraim.	15 I will cast you away from me, as I cast away all your brethren, all the offspring of Ephraim.
16 Tu adunque non voler pregare per questo populo, e non ti curare di componer laude e orazione, e non stare contro a me; però ch' io non ti esaudirò.	16 You, now, do not intercede for this people; raise not in their behalf a pleading prayer! Do not urge me, for I will not listen to you.
17 Or non vedi tu quello che fanno costoro nelle città di Giuda, e nelle piazze di Ierusalem?	17 Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 Li figliuoli colgono le legna, e li padri vi pongono sotto il fuoco, e le loro donne bagnano la farina, acciò che faccino le focaccie alla regina del cielo, e acciò che sacrifichino alli dii delle genti, e acciò che mi pròvochino a ira.	18 The children gather wood, their fathers light the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the queen of heaven, while libations are poured out to strange gods in order to hurt me.
19 Or non sono io per queste cose provocato a iracondia? dice il Signore; or non sono io provocato in confusione (e ignominia) del loro volto?	19 Is it I whom they hurt, says the LORD; is it not rather themselves, to their own confusion?
20 Però questo dice il Signore Iddio: ecco lo mio furore e la mia indignazione s' accende sopra di questo luogo, sopra gli uomini e sopra il bestiame e sopra tutti gli arbori della regione e sopra le biade (e li frutti) della terra, e arderà e non si ammorzerà.	20 See now, says the Lord GOD, my anger and my wrath will pour out upon this place, upon man and beast, upon the trees of the field and the fruits of the earth; it will burn without being quenched.
21 Questo dice lo Signore delli esèrciti, Dio d' Israel li vostri olocausti aggiugnete alli sacrificii delli vostri animali, e mangiate le carni.	21 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Heap your holocausts upon your sacrifices; eat up the flesh!
22 Però ch' io non ho parlato con li vostri padri, e non comandai a loro, nel dì ch' io li trassi fuori della terra di Egitto, alcuna cosa delli olocausti e delli sacrificii delli animali.	22 In speaking to your fathers on the day I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I gave them no command concerning holocaust or sacrifice.
23 Ma questo comandai loro, dicendo: udite la mia voce, e io sarò vostro Iddio, e voi sarete mio populo; e andate per ogni via la qual io vi comandai, acciò che abbiate bene.	23 This rather is what I commanded them: Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Walk in all the ways that I command you, so that you may prosper.
24 E non udirono, nè inclinarono le loro orecchie; ma andarono dopo li suoi desiderii (carnali) e nella pravità del cuore suo malo; si partirono, e non si volsero accostare a me,	24 But they obeyed not, nor did they pay heed. They walked in the hardness of their evil hearts and turned their backs, not their faces, to me.
25 dal giorno nel quale i loro padri si partirono di Egitto persino a questo dì. E mandai a voi tutti i servi miei profeti, levandomi la mattina per tempo, e mandandoli (a manifestar quello vi era bisogno di fare).	25 From the day that your fathers left the land of Egypt even to this day, I have sent you untiringly all my servants the prophets.
26 E non udirono me, nè chinarono l'orecchie. sue; ma doventarono più duri di capo; e fecero peggio di quello aveano fatto i padri loro.	26 Yet they have not obeyed me nor paid heed; they have stiffened their necks and done worse than their fathers.
27 Parlerai adunque a loro tutte queste parole, e non ti udiranno; e chiamerai loro, e non ti risponderanno.	27 When you speak all these words to them, they will not listen to you either; when you call to them, they will not answer you.
28 E dirai a loro: questa si è gente la qual non udì la voce del suo Signore Iddio; nè anco volsero essere ammaestrati; la fede mancò, e fulli tolta della loro bocca.	28 Say to them: This is the nation which does not listen to the voice of the LORD, its God, or take correction. Faithfulness has disappeared; the word itself is banished from their speech.
29 Tagliati li capelli, e gittali via, e comincia a piagnere; però che il Signore ha cacciato e abbandonato la generazione, sopra la quale è disceso il suo furore;	29 Cut off your dedicated hair and throw it away! on the heights intone an elegy; For the LORD has rejected and cast off the generation that draws down his wrath.
30 però che fecero i figliuoli di Giuda male dinanzi agli occhi miei, dice il Signore. Posero le loro offensioni nella casa nella quale è invocato il nome mio, acciò che la violassero.	30 The people of Judah have done what is evil in my eyes, says the LORD. They have defiled the house which bears my name by setting up in it their abominable idols.
31 Ed edificarono i luoghi alti di Tofet, la qual è nella valle del figliuolo di Ennom, acciò ardessero i suoi figliuoli e le sue figliuole al fuoco (in sacrificio); le quali cose io non comandai, nè anco pensai nel mio cuore.	31 In the Valley of Ben-hinnom they have built the high place of Topheth to immolate in fire their sons and their daughters, such a thing as I never commanded or had in mind.
32 E però dice il Signore: ecco verranno dì, e non si dirà più Tofet e Valle del figliuolo di Ennom, ma Valle di uccisione; e saranno sepolti in Tofet, però che altro luogo non vi sarà.	32 Therefore, beware! days will come, says the LORD, when Topheth and the Valley of Ben-hinnom will no longer be called such, but rather the Valley of Slaughter. For lack of space, Topheth will be a burial place.
33 E saranno li corpi morti di questo populo in cibo agli uccelli del cielo e alle bestie della terra, e non sarà chi li rimuova.	33 The corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the field, which no one will drive away.
34 E farò cessare delle città di Giuda e delle piazze di Ierusalem la voce del gaudio e la voce di letizia, la voce dello sposo e la voce della sposa; però che la terra sarà in desolazione.	34 In the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem I will silence the cry of joy, the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land will be turned to rubble.
