Isaia 26

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 In quel dì si canterà questo cantico nella terra di Giuda: Cittade di mia fortezza se' tu Sion salvatore; in quella sarà posto lo muro e lo antimuro.	1 That day, this song wil be sung in Judah: 'We have a fortress city, the wal s and ramparts providesafety.
2 Aprite le porte, ed entreracci dentro la gente giusta, la quale osserverà la verità.	2 Open the gates! Let the upright nation come in, the nation that keeps faith!
3 E lo antico errore s'è partito; tu osserverai la pace, però che in te (Signore) avemmo speranza.	3 This is the plan decreed: you wil guarantee peace, the peace entrusted to you.
4 Voi speraste nel Signore nelli secoli eterni, nel forte Iddio in perpetuo.	4 Trust in Yahweh for ever, for Yahweh is a rock for ever.
5 Però che umilierà quelli che àbitano in altura, e la città alta. La farà venire insino alla terra, e tireralla insino alla polvere.	5 He has brought low the dwel ers on the heights, the lofty citadel; he lays it low, brings it to the ground,flings it down in the dust.
6 Lo piede del povero la conculcherà, e l' andamento de' bisognosi.	6 It wil be trodden under foot, by the feet of the needy, the steps of the weak.'
7 La via del giusto è diritta, e lo suo sentiero sì è molto diritto ad andare.	7 The path of the Upright One is honesty; you smooth the honest way of the upright.
8 Noi sostenemmo te, Signore, nella via de' tuoi giudicii; lo tuo nome e la tua memoria è nel desiderio dell' anima (mia).	8 Fol owing the path of your judgements, Yahweh, we set our hopes in you, your name, your memory areal our soul desires.
9 L'anima mia desiderò te nella notte; ma con lo spirito mio e nel mio cuore io veglierò a te la mattina. Quando averai fatti li tuoi giudicii in terra, (tutti) li abitatori del mondo impareranno giustizia.	9 At night my soul longs for you and my spirit within me seeks you out; for when your judgements appearon earth the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is.
10 Abbiamo misericordia al malvagio, e non apparerà a fare giustizia; nella terra de' santi èssi portato malvagiamente, e non vederà la gloria di Dio.	10 If pity is shown to the wicked without his learning what saving justice is, he wil act wrongly in the landof right conduct and not see the majesty of Yahweh.
11 O Signore, sia esaltata la tua mano, e non la veggiano; veggiano, e siano confusi li amatori del populo; e lo fuoco divori li tuoi inimici.	11 Yahweh, your hand is raised but they do not see! The antagonists of your people will look and growpale; with your fiery wrath you wil devour your enemies.
12 Signore, darai la pace a noi; perchè tutte le opere nostre tu hai adoperate in noi.	12 Yahweh, you wil grant us peace, having completed al our undertakings for us.
13 Signore Iddio nostro, li signori possederono noi senza te; pure in te noi ci ricordiamo del tuo nome.	13 Yahweh our God, other lords than you have ruled us but, loyal to you alone, we invoke your name.
14 Li morenti non vivano, e li giganti non si rilevino; però tu li visitasti e rompesti, e uccidesti ogni loro memoria.	14 The dead wil not come back to life, the shadows wil not rise again, for you have punished them,annihilated them, wiping out their very memory.
15 E tu, Signore, perdonasti alla gente, tu perdonasti alla gente: or (non) se' tu glorificato? tu allungasti tutti i termini della terra.	15 You have made the nation larger, Yahweh, made the nation larger and won yourself glory, you haverol ed back the frontiers of the country.
16 O Signore, elli ti richiesono nelle angoscie; e nelle tribulazioni della mormorazione la tua dottrina fue a loro.	16 Yahweh, in distress they had recourse to you, they expended themselves in prayer, since yourpunishment was on them.
17 Si come quella che concepì, quando s' approssima al parto, dolendosi grida nelli suoi dolori, così siamo fatti noi nella tua faccia, o Signore.	17 As a pregnant woman near her time of delivery writhes and cries out in her pangs, so have we been,Yahweh, in your eyes:
18 Noi concepimmo, e quasi partorimmo, partorimmo spirito di salute; noi non facemmo giustizia in terra, e però non caddero li abitatori della terra.	18 we have been pregnant, we have writhed, but we have given birth only to wind: we have not givensalvation to the earth, no inhabitants for the world have been brought to birth.
19 Li tuoi morti viveranno, e li miei morti si rileveranno; desedatevi, e date lode, i quali abitate nella polvere; però che rugiada di luce è la rugiada tua, e la terra de' giganti trarrai in rovina.	19 Your dead will come back to life, your corpses wil rise again. Wake up and sing, you dwel ers in thedust, for your dew wil be a radiant dew, but the earth will give birth to the shades.
20 Va, o popolo mio, ed entra nelli tuoi letti, e chiudi li tuoi usci di retro da te; nasconditi uno poco per uno momento, insino a tanto che passi la (mia) indignazione.	20 Go, my people, go to your private room, shut yourselves in. Hide yourselves a little while until theretribution has passed.
21 Ecco, Iddio uscirà del suo luogo (santo); visiterà la iniquitade dello abitatore della terra contro a lui; e la terra rivelerà lo suo sangue, e non coprirà più li suoi morti.	21 For see, Yahweh emerges from his dwel ing to punish the inhabitants of earth for their guilt; and theearth will reveal the blood shed on it and no longer hide its slain.
