Proverbi 12

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Chi ama colui che castiga, quello è savio; e quello non è prudente, che l' odia.	1 He who loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
2 Quello che è buono averà grazia dal (nostro) Signore; e quello che si abbandona in mal pensiero, non fa se non male.	2 The good man wins favor from the LORD, but the schemer is condemned by him.
3 E a fare male non verrà già bene nella fine; e quello che buona vita menerà, è sempre sicuro.	3 No man is built up by wickedness, but the root of the just will never be disturbed.
4 La prode femina (che ama il suo marito) è grande cuore del suo signore; e la cattiva femina fa tutto di confusione al suo marito e suo signore.	4 A worthy wife is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful one is like rot in his bones.
5 Il pensiere del prode uomo è tuttavia a ben fare; ma il malvagio non intende se non tuttavia a gravare e a malfare.	5 The plans of the just are legitimate; the designs of the wicked are deceitful.
6 Il malvagio uomo pensa alla morte altrui; il prode uomo pensa come coloro che hanno mal fatto sieno liberi.	6 The words of the wicked are a deadly ambush, but the speech of the upright saves them.
7 Quando il malvagio uomo lascia il peccato suo, elli fa molto grande senno (e perviene buono uomo, e 'l male che ha fatto dinanzi sarà molto tosto dimenticato, se si mantiene in ben fare); e la casa del prode uomo sarà tutto tempo in buono stato.	7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the just stands firm.
8 Il prode uomo sarà molto tosto conosciuto; il suo affare è nella sua dottrina; il malvagio uomo sarà tutto a sospetto.	8 According to his good sense a man is praised, but one with a warped mind is despised.
9 Meglio vale il povero uomo che mena sua vita in pace (e in povertà), che lo rigoglioso (e ricco) che tuttavia ha in povertà (di cuore e d' ogni bene) la sua famiglia.	9 Better a lowly man who supports himself than one of assumed importance who lacks bread.
10 Conosce il giusto le sue bestie tutte; il disleale ha sì fello il cuore, che non degna altrui.	10 The just man takes care of his beast, but the heart of the wicked is merciless.
11 Colui che intende a sua fatica, sarà tuttavia in abondanza; ma colui che non vuole fare niente, è troppo folle. Quello è di buona ragione, che vive temperatamente, e per lo castigamento del savio lascia di fare la villania.	11 He who tills his own land has food in plenty, but he who follows idle pursuits is a fool.
12 Il malvagio uomo desidera di seguitare il malvagio, (e favella volentieri de' fatti de' malvagi uomini e delle loro opere); i bene fatti vengono tutto di dinanzi da colui che li fa sanza lasciarli.	12 The stronghold of evil men will be demolished, but the root of the just is enduring.
13 (Qui dice la scrittura che) la malvagia lingua fa molti dolori grandi a molte genti; il giusto sarà delibero da tutti i dolori.	13 In the sin of his lips the evil man is ensnared, but the just comes free of trouble.
14 Colui che buona lingua porta in bocca, (e non dice male d'altrui, impeciò che non pensa se non bene,) tutto bene il guarderà; e secondo le opere sue ogni uomo sarà pagato.	14 From the fruit of his words a man has his fill of good things, and the work of his hands comes back to reward him.
15 Il folle crede tutto ciò che ello fa sia molto buono a tutte genti; e quello che è savio crede al consiglio (di quello ch' è più savio di lui).	15 The way of the fool seems right in his own eyes, but he who listens to advice is wise.
16 Il folle mostra tosto il suo mal talento (e ciò che pensa); quello che non mostra suo pensiero, è tenuto savio.	16 The fool immediately shows his anger, but the shrewd man passes over an insult.
17 Quello che non dice se non ciò che sa sarà onorato, sì come savio e diritto ch' elli è; e quello che niente sente, e dice ciò che non sa, somiglia el falso testimonio.	17 He tells the truth who states what he is sure of, but a lying witness speaks deceitfully.
18 Alcuna gente sono, che promettono e poi si ripentono e li distringe la loro coscienza; la lingua del savio uomo si guarda molto bene di dire cosa che non voglia fare e che non possa attendere.	18 The prating of some men is like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise is healing.
19 Quelli che dice veritade sarà stante tutto tempo; e chi favella sanza ragione, spesso avviene ch' egli è apparecchiato a mal fare.	19 Truthful lips endure forever, the lying tongue, for only a moment.
20 Disleale è tuttavia nel cuore colui che male pensa; ma coloro che tengono il loro cuore in buona pace, saranno tuttavia in gioia.	20 Deceit is in the hands of those who plot evil, but those who counsel peace have joy.
21 Il prode uomo non sarà già mai scontento per cosa che gli avvenga (chè tutta sua fidanza è tutta al nostro Signore); i malvagi saranno tuttavia pieni di male (e di dolore).	21 No harm befalls the just, but the wicked are overwhelmed with misfortune.
22 La bocca che volentieri mente, Dio la inodia sopra tutte cose; e coloro che sono leali di bocca e di cuore, si gli piacciono.	22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who are truthful are his delight.
23 L'uomo che è savio, alcuna volta cela suo senno (e non mostra ciò che fa); e' malvagi cuori dicono apertamente tutta loro volontà.	23 A shrewd man conceals his knowledge, but the hearts of fools gush forth folly.
24 Il prode uomo è forte in tutti li suoi fatti (e sarà tuttavia signore); il cattivo viverà tutta via in altrui servitudine.	24 The diligent hand will govern, but the slothful will be enslaved.
25 Quando l' uomo menerà duolo nel suo cuore, molto umilierà; e (chi lo conforta fa bene, e) la buona parola il fa (spesso) lieto.	25 Anxiety in a man's heart depresses it, but a kindly word makes it glad.
26 Colui che ama meglio il suo amico che suo avere, è prode uomo; e la via de' malvagi gl' ingannerà.	26 The just man surpasses his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
27 Il malvagio uomo non farà guadagno (che gli torni a onore nè a prode): ma la sustanzia del prode uomo lo manterrà.	27 The slothful man catches not his prey, but the wealth of the diligent man is great.
28 La via de' diritti sì (riceverà e) darà vita (a colui che vive buonamente); ma la mala via mena l'uomo alla morte.	28 In the path of justice there is life, but the abominable way leads to death.
