1 I figliuoli d' Israel secondo il numero loro, principi delle famiglie, e tribuni e centurioni e prefetti, i quali ministravano al re per le loro compagnie, entrando e uscendo per uno mese dell' anno, [a] XXIIII m. ciascuno era preposto.	1 The Israelites listed according to heads of families, commanders of thousands and hundreds, withtheir officials in the king's service who dealt with al matters affecting the companies on monthly duty, month bymonth throughout the year, each company consisting of twenty-four thousand men:
2 Alla prima compagnia, il primo mese, Iesboam era preposto, figliuolo di Zabdiel, e sotto lui XXIIII m.	2 The commander of the first company detailed for the first month was Jashobeam son of Zabdiel,whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.
3 de' figliuoli di Fares, principe di tutti i prìncipi dello esercito nel primo mese.	3 He belonged to the family of Perez and was the senior military officer of al those detailed for the firstmonth.
4 Del secondo mese avea la compagnia Dudia Aoito, e dopo lui uno altro il quale avea nome Macellot, il quale reggea parte dello esercito di XXIIII m.	4 The commander of the company for the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.
5 Il duca della terza compagnia, nel terzo mese, era Banaia figliuolo di Ioiada sacerdote; e nella sua divisione ventiquattro migliaia.	5 The officer commanding the third body of men for the third month was Benaiah son of Jehoiada, thechief priest, whose company consisted of twenty-four thousand men.
6 E questo è Banaia fortissimo tra' trenta e sopra'trenta; era preposto alla sua compagnia Amizadab suo figliuolo.	6 This was the Benaiah who was an important member of the Thirty and his company. His son wasAmmizabad.
7 Il quarto, nel quarto mese, Asael fratello di Ioab, e Zabadia suo figliuolo dopo lui; e nella sua compagnia erano ventiquattro migliaia.	7 The fourth for the fourth month was Asahel brother of Joab, and his son Zebadiah after him, whosecompany consisted of twenty-four thousand men.
8 Il quinto, nel quinto mese, principe Samaot Iezerite; e nella sua compagnia XXIIII m.	8 The fifth officer commanding for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Zerahite, whose companyconsisted of twenty-four thousand men.
9 Il sesto, nel sesto mese, Ira figliuolo di Acces Tecuite; e nella sua compagnia XXIIII m.	9 The sixth for the sixth month was Ira son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, whose company consisted of twenty-fourthousand men.

11 E l'ottavo, nel mese VIII, Sobocai Usatite della stirpe di Zarai; e nella sua compagnia XXIIII milia.	11 The eighth for the eighth month was Sibbecai of Hushah, a Zerahite, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.

15 Il duodecimo, nel duodecimo mese, Oldai Netofatite della stirpe di Gotoniel; e nella sua compagnia XXIIII m.	15 The twelfth for the twelfth month was Heldai of Netophah, of Othniel, whose company consisted oftwenty-four thousand men.
16 E alle tribù d' Israel soprastavano: a' Rubeniti, il duca Eliezer figliuolo di Zecri; a' Simeoniti, il duca Safatia figliuolo di Maaca.	16 Responsible for the tribes of Israel were chief Eliezer son of Zichri for the Reubenites, Shephatiahson of Maacah for the Simeonites,
17 Ai leviti, Asabia figliuolo di Camuel; agli Aaroniti, Sadoc.	17 Hashabiah son of Kemuel for the Levites, Zadok for the Aaronites,

23 E non gli volle numerare David da XX anni in giuso; però ch' avea detto Iddio, che Israel moltiplicherebbe come le stelle del cielo.	23 Now in the census David did not include those who were twenty years old and under, since Yahwehhad promised to make Israel as numerous as the stars of heaven.
24 Ioab figliuolo di Sarvia avea cominciato a numerare, e non l'avea compiuto; però che per questo era venuta l'ira sopra Israel; e però il numero di quelli ch' erano numerati, non era ancora portato a David re.	24 Joab son of Zeruiah began the count but never finished. This is why retribution came upon Israel,and the number did not come up to that recorded in the annals of King David.
25 E Azmot figliuolo di Adiel fu sopra gli tesori del re; ma a quelli tesori, i quali erano nelle città, ne' borghi e nelle torri, era soprastante Ionata figliuolo di Ozia.	25 Overseer of the king's supplies: Azmaveth son of Adiel. Overseer of supplies in the countryside,towns, vil ages and fortresses: Jonathan son of Uzziah.
26 All' opere delle ville, e a quelli lavoravano le terre, soprastava Ezri figliuolo di Chelub.	26 Overseer of the farmers who til ed the land: Ezri son of Chelub.
27 E a quelli che coltivavano le vigne, Semeia di Romata; e alle celle del vino, Zabdia Afonite.	27 Overseer of vineyards: Shimei of Ramah. Overseer of those in the vineyards who looked after thewine cellars: Zabdi of Shepham.
28 E sopra gli oliveti e ficheti ch' erano nei campestri, Balana Gederite; e sopra le botteghe dell' olio, Ioas.	28 Overseer of olive and sycamore trees in the Shephelah: Baal-Hanan of Geder. Overseer of oilsupplies: Joash.

34 Dopo Achitofel fu Ioiada figliuolo di Banaia, e Abiatar. Ma principe dello esercito del re era Ioab.	34 Jehoiada son of Benaiah and Abiathar succeeded Ahitophel -- Joab was commander of the king'sarmy.
