1 E abitando David in casa sua, disse a Natan profeta: ecco ch' io abito in casa fatta di cedro, e l'arca del patto di Dio è sotto le pelli.	1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remaineth under curtains.
2 E Natan gli disse a David: tutte le cose che sono nello tuo cuore fa, però che Iddio è con esso teco.	2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.
3 E in quella notte fu fatta la parola di Dio a Natan profeta, dicendo:	3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
4 va e parla al mio servo David: questo dice il Signore: tu non edificherai a me casa ad abitare.	4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
5 E io non sono abitato in casa dal tempo ch' io trassi Israel (d' Egitto), insino a questo dì; anzi tuttavia ho mutato i luoghi del tabernacolo, e sono stato con esso Israel sotto i padiglioni.	5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
6 Dissi io mai almeno ad uno de ' giudici d' Israel, ai quali io comandai che pascessero il popolo mio: (Israel, Israel,) perchè non m' hai tu edificata casa cedrina?	6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?
7 Ora dirai così al servo mio David: questo dice il Signore degli eserciti: io ti tolsi quando tu andavi dopo il gregge ne' pascoli, acciò che tu fossi duca del popolo mio Israel.	7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:
8 E sono istato teco là dovunque tu se' andato; é ho morto tutti i tuoi nemici dinanzi a te, e ho fatto a te (uno nome grande) quasi il nome d' uno de' grandi i quali si celebran nella terra.	8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
9 E ho dato luogo al mio popolo d'Israel; sarà piantato, e abiterà in quello, e non sarà commosso più; i figliuoli della iniquità non gli offenderanno, sì come dal principio,	9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
10 del tempo ch' io diedi al popolo mio Israel giudici, e ho umiliato tutti i tuoi inimici. Onde io t'annuncio che il Signore edificherà casa a te.	10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
11 E avendo tu compiuti i dì tuoi, che tu ne vada a' padri tuoi, io susciterò dopo te il seme tuo, il quale sarà de' tuoi figliuoli, e istabiliroe il suo regno.	11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
12 Egli edificherà a me casa; e io firmerò la sedia sua insino in eterno.	12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
13 Io sarò a lui padre, ed egli sarà a me figliuolo; e non torrò da lui la misericordia mia, sì come io la tolsi a colui che fu dinanzi a te.	13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
14 E porrollo nella casa mia, e nel mio regno, insino in sempiterno; e la sedia sua sarà fermissima (in eterno e) in perpetuo.	14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.
15 E secondo tutte queste parole, e secondo tutta questa visione, così Natan disse a David.	15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
16 E venuto il re David, e seduto nel cospetto di Dio, disse: o Signore Iddio, chi sono io, e chi è la mia casa, che tu m' abbi prestate cotali cose?	16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
17 Ed egli è apparito poco nel tuo cospetto; e però hai parlato sopra la casa del servo tuo, anche per lo tempo che dee venire; e ha'mi fatto (Signore mio Iddio) maraviglioso sopra tutti gli uomini, Signore mio Iddio.	17 And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
18 Che puote aggiungere più David, chè hai lui così glorificato, e ha'lo conosciuto?	18 What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.
19 Signore, per lo servo tuo secondo il tuo cuore tu hai fatta tutta questa magnificenza, voluto che tutte le grandi cose sieno manifeste.	19 O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
20 Signore, non è simile a te, e non è altro Iddio, fuori di te, di tutti quelli che noì abbiamo uditi con le nostre orecchie.	20 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
21 Quale altra è, come il tuo popolo Israel, una gente in terra, alla quale Iddio andò [a liberarla] e a farla suo popolo, e con la sua grandezza e col suo terrore cacciò le nazioni dal cospetto suo, la quale liberò da Egitto?	21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
22 E ponesti il popolo d' Israel a te popolo insino in sempiterno; e tu, Signore, fatto sei suo Dio.	22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.
23 Ora, Signore, la tua parola la quale hai detta al servo tuo, sia sopra la sua casa confermata in perpetuo; e fa sì come tu hae detto.	23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
24 E rimanga (in perpetuo) e sia magnificato il nome tuo insino in sempiterno, e sia detto: il Signore degli eserciti Iddio d' Israel; e la casa del suo servo David sia sempre nel suo cospetto.	24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
25 Però che tu, Signore Iddio mio, rivelasti alle orecchie del servo tuo di edificarli casa; e però il tuo servo hae trovato confidanza d' orare nel tuo cospetto.	25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
26 Ora, Signore, tu sei Iddio; e hai detto al servo tuo tanti beneficii.	26 And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
27 E hai cominciato a benedicere la casa del tuo servo, acciò che sempre sia dinanzi a te; e benedicendo te, [Signore], certo sarà benedetta in eterno, (e in eterno sempiternale).	27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.
