1 Parola del Signore a carico della terra d'Adrac e di Damasco suo riposo, — che il Signore ha gli occhi sugli uomini e su tutte le tribù d'Israele. —	1 A proclamation. The word of Yahweh is against Hadrach, it has come to rest on Damascus, for thesource of Aram belongs to Yahweh no less than al the tribes of Israel;

7 E torrò il suo sangue dalla sua bocca, e di dentro ai suoi denti le sue abominazioni, e sarà lasciato anche lui pel nostro Dio, e sarà come un capo in Giuda, e Accaron sarà come il Gebuseo.	7 I shal snatch his blood from his mouth, his abominations from between his teeth. But his remnant toowil belong to our God, becoming like a clan in Judah, and Ekron wil become like a Jebusite.
8 Ed io metterò intorno alla mia casa quelli che militano a mio servizio, andranno e verranno, e non passerà più sopra di loro l'esattore, perchè ora ho veduto coi miei occhi.	8 I shal stand guard before my home to defend it against al comers, and no oppressor wil overrun themever again, for now I am on the alert.
9 Esulta grandemente, o figlia di Sion, giubila, o figlia, di Gerusalemme; ecco viene a te il tuo Re, il Giusto, il Salvatore: Egli è povero, e cavalca un'asina e un asinello.	9 Rejoice heart and soul, daughter of Zion! Shout for joy, daughter of Jerusalem! Look, your king isapproaching, he is vindicated and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
10 Io disperderò i cocchi d'Efraim, i cavalli di Gerusalemme e gli strumenti da guerra saranno infranti. Egli annunzierà la pace alle nazioni. Il suo dominio sarà da mare a mare, e dal fiume all'estremità della terra.	10 He wil banish chariots from Ephraim and horses from Jerusalem; the bow of war wil be banished. Hewil proclaim peace to the nations, his empire wil stretch from sea to sea, from the River to the limits of the earth.
11 E tu, col sangue del tuo testamento, hai liberati i tuoi, che eran prigionieri nella fossa senz'acqua.	11 As for you, because of the blood of your covenant I have released your prisoners from the pit in whichthere is no water.
12 Ritornate alla fortezza, o prigionieri (pieni) di speranza, anche oggi t'annunzio che ti renderò il doppio.	12 Come back to the fortress, you prisoners waiting in hope. This very day, I vow, I shal make it up to youtwice over.
13 Perchè mi son teso Giuda come un arco; ho riempito Efraim: susciterò i tuoi figli, o Sion, contro i tuoi figli, o Grecia, e ti renderò come una spada d'eroe.	13 For I have strung Judah as a bow for myself, laid Ephraim on the string as an arrow, have roused yoursons, Zion, against your sons, Javan, and have made you like a warrior's sword.
14 Sopra di loro si vedrà il Signore Dio; come un folgore scoccherà il suo dardo: il Signore Dio darà il segno colla tromba, s'avanzerà sui turbini dell'Austro.	14 Then Yahweh wil appear above them and his arrow wil flash out like lightning. (The Lord) Yahweh wilsound the trumpet and advance in the storm-winds of the south.
15 Il Signore degli eserciti li proteggerà: divoreranno, abbatteranno colle pietre della fionda, beveranno e saranno inebriati come dal vino, saranno ripieni come coppe, come corni dell'altare.	15 Yahweh Sabaoth will protect them! They wil devour, wil trample on the sling-stones, they wil drinkblood like wine, awash like bowls, like the corners of the altar.
16 E il Signore loro Dio li salverà in quel giorno, come gregge del suo popolo, perchè come pietre sante sorgeranno sopra la sua terra.	16 Yahweh their God wil give them victory when that day comes, like the sheep who are his people; yes,the stones of a diadem wil sparkle over his country.
17 Qual'è il suo bene, quaì'è il suo bello, se non il frumento degli eletti, il vino che fa germogliare le vergini?	17 How fine, how splendid that will be, with wheat to make the young men flourish, and new wine themaidens!
