BIBBIA TINTORI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Metti da parte, o Gerusalemme, le vesti del lutto e della tua afflizione, e rivestiti dello splendore e della maestà dell'eterna gloria che ti viene da Dio.	1 Jerusalem, take off your dress of sorrow and distress, put on the beauty of God's glory for evermore,
2 Il Signore ti coprirà col manto della giustizia, e ti porrà sul capo la mitra dell'onore eterno;	2 wrap the cloak of God's saving justice around you, put the diadem of the Eternal One's glory on yourhead,
3 Dio mostrerà il tuo splendore a tutto ciò che è sotto il cielo.	3 for God means to show your splendour to every nation under heaven,
4 Il tuo nome ti sarà dato da Dio in eterno: « Pace della giustizia », « Onore della pietà ».	4 and the name God gives you for evermore wil be, 'Peace-through-Justice, and Glory-through-Devotion'.
5 Alzati, o Gerusalemme, sta in alto e volgi lo sguardo verso l'oriente, e mira i tuoi figli radunati dal sol levante all'occidente alla parola del Santo, lieti del ricordo del loro Dio.	5 Arise, Jerusalem, stand on the heights and turn your eyes to the east: see your children reassembledfrom west and east at the Holy One's command, rejoicing because God has remembered.
6 Partiron da te a piedi, trascinati dai nemici, ma il Signore te li ricondurrà portati con onore, come figli del regno.	6 Though they left you on foot driven by enemies, now God brings them back to you, carried gloriously,like a royal throne.
7 Infatti il Signore ha ordinato d'abbassare tutte le montagne elevate e le rupi eterne, e di colmare le valli per appianare la terra, affinchè Israele cammini rapidamente per la gloria di Dio;	7 For God has decreed the flattening of each high mountain, of the everlasting hills, the fil ing of theval eys to make the ground level so that Israel can walk safely in God's glory.
8 e le foreste e tutte le piante di grato odore per ordine di Dio faranno ombra a Israele.	8 And the forests and every fragrant tree wil provide shade for Israel, at God's command;
9 Così Dio condurrà Israele con gioia alla luce della sua maestà; colla misericordia e colla giustizia che vien da lui stesso.	9 for God wil guide Israel in joy by the light of his glory, with the mercy and saving justice which comefrom him.
