Geremia 8

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - In quel tempo, dice il Signore, getteranno fuori dei lor sepolcri le ossa dei Re di Giuda e le ossa dei suoi principi, e le ossa dei sacerdoti e le ossa dei profeti e le ossa di quelli che abitarono Gerusalemme.	1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.
2 E le lasceranno esposte al sole e alla luna e a tutta quella milizia del cielo che avevano amato, che avevano servito e dietro alla quale erano andati, che ricercarono ed adorarono; non saranno raccolte, nè riseppellite, formeranno tutto un carcame sulla superficie del suolo.	2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.
3 E preferiranno meglio la morte che la vita tutti i superstiti di questa pessima stirpe, nell'abbandono in tutti i luoghi dove io li avrò scacciati, dice il Signore.	3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.
4 Dirai loro: - Così dice il Signore: ''Chi casca non si rialza forse? e chi si volta da un lato, non si rivolgerà?	4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?
5 Per qual motivo dunque s'è voltato codesto popolo di Gerusalemme?''.- Facendomi un voltafaccia ostinato, hanno abbracciato la menzogna, non hanno voluto recedere.	5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.
6 Sono stato in attenzione e in ascolto, nessuno che parli di ciò che sarebbe bene, nessuno che si muova a penitenza del suo peccato e che dica: - Che ho mai fatto? - Tutti rivolti a correre pel loro verso, come cavallo che va di carriera incontro alla battaglia.	6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.
7 Il nibbio nel cielo conosce il suo tempo, la tortorella, la rondine, la cicogna osservano la stagione della loro venuta, ma il mio popolo non ha conosciuto le disposizioni del Signore.	7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '
8 Come mai dite: - Noi siamo sapienti e la legge del Signore è con noi? - Veramente strumento di menzogna si è fatto lo stilo mendace degli scribi!	8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!
9 I sapienti sono rimasti confusi, esterefatti e colti in fallo, perchè hanno rigettata la parola di Dio, e non c'è sapienza alcuna in essi.	9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?
10 Per questo darò le loro mogli ai forestieri e i loro poderi ad altri eredi, perchè tutti dal più piccolo al più grande perseguono l'avarizia, dal profeta fino al sacerdote, tutti esercitano la menzogna.	10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.
11 E credono di portare rimedio alle magagne del popolo mio colle baie e dicendo: - Pace, pace! - E pace non c'è.	11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.
12 Sono rimasti confusi, perchè hanno fatto cose abominevoli, o piuttosto la confusione non li ha confusi, perchè non hanno saputo neppure vergognarsi; perciò cascheranno cogli altri nella totale rovina, nell'ora della visita soccomberanno, dice il Signore.	12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.
13 Io li raccoglierò, io li raccoglierò, dice il Signore, non c'è uva sulle viti, non ci sono più fichi sulle ficaie, le foglie sono cadute; eppure a loro avevo dato ciò ch'è trapassato altrove».	13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!
14 Che aspettiamo? radunatevi ed entriamo in qualche città fortificata, ed ivi chiudiamoci nel nostro silenzio; perchè il Signore Dio ci ha ridotti al silenzio e ci ha abbeverati di acqua di fiele, perchè abbiamo peccato contro il Signore.	14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.
15 Abbiamo aspettato la pace, ma non c'è stato alcun miglioramento; il momento del sollievo, ed ecco lo spavento.	15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!
16 Da Dan si è udito lo sbuffare de' suoi cavalli, all'eco dei nitriti de' suoi bellicosi destrieri ha tremato tutta la terra: e son venuti e hanno divorato la terra e quanto contiene: la città e i suoi abitatori.	16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.
17 «Perchè, ecco che io manderò contro di voi serpenti viperini coi quali a nulla servirà l'incanto, e vi morsicheranno», dice il Signore.	17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.
18 Oh, che spasimo, che dolore è il mio! Mi si macera il cuore dentro di me!	18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.
19 Ecco il grido della voce della figlia del mio popolo da una terra lontana: «come mai, il Signore non c'è più in Sion, non c'è più in essa il suo re?». E perchè allora mi hanno provocato a sdegno coi loro simulacri e colle vanità forestiere?	19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)
20 La mietitura è passata, è finita l'estate e noi non siamo salvati.	20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'
21 Per lo strazio della figlia del popolo mio mi sento straziare, sono contristato, m'incolse lo sbalordimento.	21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.
22 Non v'è più balsamo in Galaad? non c'è là più alcun medico? Perchè dunque non si è rimarginata la ferita del popolo mio?	22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?
	23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?
