1 Now Peter and John went up to the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.	1 - Or Pietro e Giovanni salivano al tempio sull'ora della preghiera, a nona.
2 And a certain man, who was lame from his mother’s womb, was being carried in. They would lay him every day at the gate of the temple, which is called the Beautiful, so that he might request alms from those entering into the temple.	2 E veniva pertanto un cert'uomo, storpio dalla nascita, che posavano ogni giorno alla porta del tempio detta la Bella, per chieder limosina a quelli ch'entravano nel tempio.
3 And this man, when he had seen Peter and John beginning to enter the temple, was begging, so that he might receive alms.	3 Costui, vedendo Pietro e Giovanni che stavano per entrare, chiese loro la limosina.
4 Then Peter and John, gazing at him, said, “Look at us.”	4 E Pietro con Giovanni, fissandolo disse: «Guardaci!».
5 And he looked intently at them, hoping that he might receive something from them.	5 E quello li guardava attentamente, aspettando di ricevere da essi qualche cosa.
6 But Peter said: “Silver and gold is not mine. But what I have, I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk.”	6 Ma Pietro disse: «Non ho nè argento nè oro; ma quello che ho, te lo dò: nel nome di Gesù Cristo il Nazareno, àlzati e cammina».
7 And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. And immediately his legs and feet were strengthened.	7 E, presolo per la man destra, l'aiutò ad alzarsi; e in quell'istante, le piante e le caviglie de' piedi gli diventaron forti.
8 And leaping up, he stood and walked around. And he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.	8 D'un salto, fu in piedi, e si mise a camminare; ed entrò con essi nel tempio, camminando, saltando e lodando Dio.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.	9 E tutto il popolo lo vide camminare e lodar Dio.
10 And they recognized him, that he was the same one who was sitting for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple. And they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.	10 E siccome lo conoscevano per quello che sedeva alla Porta Bella del tempio a chieder limosina, erano stupefatti e fuor di sè per quel che gli era avvenuto.
11 Then, as he held on to Peter and John, all the people ran to them at the portico, which is called Solomon’s, in astonishment.	11 Mentre colui teneva ancora stretti Pietro e Giovanni, tutto il popolo accorse verso di loro al portico detto di Salomone.
12 But Peter, seeing this, responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this? Or why do you stare at us, as if it were by our own strength or power that we caused this man to walk?	12 E Pietro, vedendo la gran folla, parlò e disse: «Uomini Israeliti, perchè vi meravigliate di questo? Perchè tenete gli occhi su di noi, come se di potenza e bontà nostra avessimo fatto sì che costui cammini?
13 The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus, whom you, indeed, handed over and denied before the face of Pilate, when he was giving judgment to release him.	13 Il Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio de' padri nostri ha glorificato il suo figliuolo Gesù, che voi metteste in man di Pilato e rinnegaste in faccia a lui, mentr'egli aveva deciso di liberarlo.
14 Then you denied the Holy and Just One, and petitioned for a murderous man to be given to you.	14 Sì, voi rinnegaste il Santo e il Giusto, e chiedeste vi fosse graziato un omicida.
15 Truly, it was the Author of Life whom you put to death, whom God raised from the dead, to whom we are witnesses.	15 Voi uccideste l'autore della vita; ma Dio l'ha risuscitato da' morti, e noi ne siamo testimoni.
16 And by faith in his name, this man, whom you have seen and known, has confirmed his name. And faith through him has given this man complete health in the sight of you all.	16 Ond'è che per la fede nel nome di Lui, un tal nome ha rafforzato quest'uomo, che vedete e conoscete: e la fede che vien da Lui, gli ha dato, in presenza di tutti voi, questa perfetta guarigione.
17 And now, brothers, I know that you did this through ignorance, just as your leaders also did.	17 Or io so, fratelli, che il male fatto da voi e da' vostri capi, fu per ignoranza.
18 But in this way God has fulfilled the things that he announced beforehand through the mouth of all the Prophets: that his Christ would suffer.	18 Ma Dio ha così compiuto quel che per bocca di tutti i profeti aveva predetto: dover patire il suo Cristo.
19 Therefore, repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away.	19 Ravvedetevi, dunque, e convertitevi, affinchè sian rimessi i vostri peccati;
20 And then, when the time of consolation will have arrived from the presence of the Lord, he will send the One who was foretold to you, Jesus Christ,	20 e possan venire da parte del Signore i tempi del refrigerio, ch'egli vi mandi Gesù Cristo a voi predicato,
21 whom heaven certainly must take up, until the time of the restoration of all things, which God has spoken of by the mouth of his holy prophets, from ages past.	21 che il cielo terrà accolto fino a' tempi della restaurazione di tutte le cose, dei quali Dio ha parlato fin dalle più antiche età per bocca de' suoi santi profeti.
22 Indeed, Moses said: ‘For the Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet for you from your brothers, one like me; the same shall you listen to according to everything whatsoever that he shall speak to you.	22 Infatti, Mosè, disse: - Il Signore Iddio vostro susciterà tra i vostri fratelli un profeta come me; ascoltatelo in tutto quel che vi dirà.
23 And this shall be: every soul who will not listen to that Prophet shall be exterminated from the people.’	23 Perchè, chiunque non darà orecchio a quel profeta, sarà sterminato di tra il popolo. -
24 And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and thereafter, have announced these days.	24 E tutti i profeti, da Samuele in poi, quanti han parlato, anch'essi annunziarono questi giorni.
25 You are sons of the prophets and of the testament which God has appointed for our fathers, saying to Abraham: ‘And by your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’	25 Voi, proprio voi, siete i figli de' profeti e dell'alleanza che Dio fece co' vostri padri, quando disse ad Abramo: - E nella tua progenie saranno benedette tutte le famiglie della terra. -
26 God raised up his Son and sent him first to you, to bless you, so that each one may turn himself away from his wickedness.”	26 A voi per i primi Iddio, dopo aver suscitato il suo Figliuolo, lo ha mandato per benedirvi, facendo sì che ciascun di voi si converta dalle sue iniquità».
