1 And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of his wife, an Ethiopian,	1 Miriam i Aaron mówili źle przeciw Mojżeszowi z powodu Kuszytki, którą wziął za żonę. Rzeczywiście bowiem wziął za żonę Kuszytkę.
2 and they said: “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Has he not also spoken similarly to us?” And when the Lord had heard this,	2 Mówili: Czyż Pan mówił z samym tylko Mojżeszem? Czy nie mówił również z nami? A Pan to usłyszał.
3 (for Moses was a man exceedingly meek, beyond all the men who were living upon the earth)	3 Mojżesz zaś był człowiekiem bardzo skromnym, najskromniejszym ze wszystkich ludzi, jacy żyli na ziemi.
4 immediately he spoke to him, and to Aaron and Miriam, “Go out, you three only, to the tabernacle of the covenant.” And when they had gone out,	4 I zwrócił się nagle Pan do Mojżesza, Aarona i Miriam: Przyjdźcie wszyscy troje do Namiotu Spotkania. I poszli wszyscy troje,
5 the Lord descended in a column of cloud, and he stood at the entrance of the tabernacle, calling to Aaron and Miriam. And when they had advanced,	5 a Pan zstąpił w słupie obłoku, zatrzymał się u wejścia do namiotu i zawołał na Aarona i Miriam. Gdy obydwoje podeszli,
6 he said to them: “Listen to my words. If there will be among you a prophet of the Lord, I will appear to him in a vision, or I will speak to him through a dream.	6 rzekł: Słuchajcie słów moich: Jeśli jest u was prorok, objawię mu się przez widzenia, w snach będę mówił do niego.
7 But it is not so with my servant Moses, who is the most faithful in all my house.	7 Lecz nie tak jest ze sługą moim, Mojżeszem. Uznany jest za wiernego w całym moim domu.
8 For I speak with him mouth to mouth, and plainly. And not through enigmas and figures does he perceive the Lord. Therefore, why were you not afraid to disparage my servant Moses?”	8 Twarzą w twarz mówię do niego - w sposób jawny, a nie przez wyrazy ukryte. On też postać Pana ogląda. Czemu ośmielacie się przeciwko memu słudze, przeciwko Mojżeszowi, źle mówić?
9 And being angry against them, he went away.	9 I zapalił się gniew Pana przeciw nim. Odszedł [Pan],
10 Likewise, the cloud which was over the tabernacle withdrew. And behold, Miriam appeared to be white with a leprosy, like snow. And when Aaron had looked upon her, and he had seen the spreading of the leprosy,	10 a obłok oddalił się od namiotu, lecz oto Miriam stała się nagle biała jak śnieg od trądu. Gdy Aaron do niej się zwrócił, spostrzegł, że była trędowata.
11 he said to Moses: “I beg you, my lord, not to impose upon us this sin, which we have committed foolishly.	11 Wtedy rzekł Aaron do Mojżesza: Proszę, panie mój, nie karz nas za grzech, któregośmy się nierozważnie dopuścili i jesteśmy winni.
12 Do not let this one be like one who is dead, or like an abortion that has been cast from the womb of her mother. Behold, half of her flesh is already consumed by leprosy.”	12 Nie dopuść, by ona stała się jak martwy [płód], który na pół zgniły wychodzi z łona swej matki.
13 And Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “O God, I beg you: heal her.”	13 Wtedy Mojżesz błagał głośno Pana: O Boże, spraw, proszę, by znowu stała się zdrowa.
14 And the Lord answered him: “If her father had spit on her face, should she not have been filled with shame for at least seven days? Let her be separated, outside the camp, for seven days, and after that, she will be called back.”	14 Pan rzekł do Mojżesza: Gdyby jej ojciec plunął w twarz, czyż nie musiałaby się przez siedem dni wstydzić? Tak ma być ona przez siedem dni wyłączona z obozu, a potem może znowu powrócić.
15 And so Miriam was excluded from the camp for seven days. And the people did not move from that place, until Miriam was called back.	15 Zgodnie z tym została Miriam na siedem dni wyłączona z obozu. Lud jednak nie ruszył dalej, zanim Miriam nie została przyjęta z powrotem.
	16 Następnie lud wyruszył z Chaserot i rozbił obóz na pustyni Paran.
