1 Unto the end. For the secrets of the Son. A Psalm of David.	1 Per la fine. Per gli arcani del figlio. Salmo di David).
2 I will confess to you, Lord, with my whole heart. I will recount all your wonders.	2 Ti celebrerò, Signore, con tutto il mio cuore, narrerò tutte le tue maraviglie.
3 I will rejoice and exult in you. I will sing a psalm to your name, O Most High.	3 Ti rallegrerò ed esulterò in te, salmeggerò al tuo nome, o Altissimo.
4 For my enemy will be turned back. They will be weakened and perish before your face.	4 Già indietreggiano i miei nemici: divengono impotenti, sono annientati alla tua presenza.
5 For you have accomplished my judgment and my cause. You have sat upon the throne that judges justice.	5 Tu hai fatto trionfare il mio diritto, la mia causa; ti sei assiso sul trono giudice di giustizia.
6 You have rebuked the Gentiles, and the impious one has perished. You have deleted their name in eternity and for all generations.	6 Hai sgridate le nazioni, ed è perito l'empio; hai cancellato il loro nome in eterno, per tutti i secoli.
7 The spears of the enemy have failed in the end, and their cities, you have destroyed. Their memory has perished with a loud noise.	7 Le armi del nemico hanno perduta la forza per sempre, le loro città le hai distrutte. Svanì col suono la loro memoria,
8 But the Lord remains in eternity. He has prepared his throne in judgment.	8 Ma il Signore rimane in eterno. Per giudicare ha preparato il suo trono:
9 And he will judge the whole world in equity. He will judge the people in justice.	9 Egli stesso giudica con equità il mondo, giudica i popoli con giustizia.
10 And the Lord has become a refuge for the poor, a helper in opportunity, in tribulation.	10 Il Signore s'è fatto rifugio del povero, suo aiuto nel tempo del bisogno, nella tribolazione.
11 And may they hope in you, who know your name. For you have not abandoned those seeking you, Lord.	11 Sperino pure in te quelli che conoscono il tuo nome, perchè tu, o Signore, non hai abbandonato coloro che ti cercano.
12 Sing a psalm to the Lord, who dwells in Zion. Announce his study among the Gentiles.	12 Cantate inni al Signore che abita in Sion, annunziate tra le nazioni i suoi disegni;
13 Because of those who yearned for their blood, he has remembered them. He has not forgotten the cry of the poor.	13 Perchè il vindice del sangue si è ricordato di loro, non ha dimenticato il grido dei poveri.
14 Have mercy on me, Lord. See my humiliation from my enemies.	14 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, guarda in quale umiliazione mi han ridotto i miei nemici.
15 You lift me up from the gates of death, so that I may announce all your praises at the gates of the daughter of Zion.	15 Tu m'hai fatto risalire dalle porte della morte, affinchè annunzi tutte le tue lodi alle porte della figlia di Sion.
16 I will exult in your salvation. The Gentiles have become trapped in the ruin that they made. Their foot has been caught in the same snare that they themselves had hidden.	16 Esulterò per la salvezza da te donata: le genti si sono sprofondate nella fossa da loro scavata: nel laccio che nascosero restò impigliato il loro piede.
17 The Lord will be recognized when making judgments. The sinner has been caught in the works of his own hands.	17 S'è fatto conoscere il Signore col render giustizia: il peccatore è restato preso nelle opere delle sue mani.
18 The sinners will be turned into Hell: all the Gentiles who have forgotten God.	18 Sian gettati nell'inferno i peccatori, tutte le genti che dimenticano Dio.
19 For the poor will not be forgotten in the end. The patience of the poor will not perish in the end.	19 No, il povero non sarà dimenticato per sempre, non sarà vana in eterno la pazienza del povero.
20 Rise up, Lord: do not let man be strengthened. Let the Gentiles be judged in your sight.	20 Sorgi, o Signore, non prevalga l'uomo, sian giudicate alla tua presenza le nazioni.
21 O Lord, establish a lawgiver over them, so that the Gentiles may know that they are only men.	21 Costituisci, o Signore, sopra di loro un legislatore, affinchè le genti riconoscano di essere uomini.
22 So then, why, O Lord, have you withdrawn far away? Why have you overlooked us in opportunity, in tribulation?	22 Perchè, o Signore, te ne stai lontano, abbandoni nel momento del bisogno, nella tribolazione? ù
23 While the impious is arrogant, the poor is enflamed. They are held by the counsels that they devise.	23 Mentre l'empio insolentisce, il povero si consuma: son presi nelle trame da loro escogitate.
24 For the sinner is praised by the desires of his soul, and the iniquitous is blessed.	24 Siccome il peccatore è lodato nei desideri dell'anima sua e l'iniquo è benedetto;
25 The sinner has provoked the Lord; according to the multitude of his wrath, he will not seek him.	25 Il peccatore ha irritato il Signore; pieno di arroganza non se ne cura:
26 God is not before his sight. His ways are stained at all times. Your judgments are removed from his face. He will be master of all his enemies.	26 Per lui Dio non esiste. Le sue vie sono sempre contaminate; i tuoi giudizi sono lungi dal suo sguardo; tratta con alterigia tutti i suoi avversari.
27 For he has said in his heart, “I will not be disturbed: from generation to generation without evil.”	27 Egli dice in cuor suo: « Non mi moverò, vivrò in età senza disgrazie ».
28 His mouth is full of curses, and bitterness, and deceit. Under his tongue are hardship and sorrow.	28 La sua bocca è piena di maledizione, di amarezza, di frode; porta sotto la lingua affanno e dolore.
29 He sits in ambush, with resources in hidden places, so that he may execute the innocent.	29 Sta in agguato con i ricchi, in luoghi occulti per uccidere l'innocente.
30 His eyes catch sight of the poor. He lies in ambush, in hiding like a lion in his den. He lies in ambush, so that he may seize the poor, to seize the poor as he draws him in.	30 I suoi occhi spiano il povero: gli tende insidie dal nascondiglio, come il leone nella sua spelonca. 34 How has the impious one provoked God? For he has said in his heart, “He will not inquire.”	34 Per qual motivo l'empio ha irritato Dio? Perchè ha detto in cuor suo: « Non chiederà ragione ».
35 You do see, for you examine hardship and sorrow, so that you may deliver them into your hands. The poor one has been abandoned to you. You will be a helper to the orphan.	35 Ma tu osservi, tu consideri l'affanno e il dolore, per averli nelle tue mani. Alle tue cure è abbandonato il povero, tu sei l'aiuto dell'orfano.
36 Break the arm of the sinner and the malicious. His sin will be sought, and it will not be found.	36 Spezza il braccio del peccatore e del maligno: il suo peccato sarà cercato senza essere trovato.
37 The Lord shall reign in eternity, even forever and ever. You will perish the Gentiles from his land.	37 Il Signore regna in eterno, per tutti i secoli: o nazioni, sarete sterminate dalla sua terra.
38 The Lord has heeded the desire of the poor. Your ear has listened to the preparation of their heart,	38 Il Signore esaudisce il desiderio dei poveri; il tuo orecchio sta attento alle disposizioni del loro cuore,
39 so as to judge for the orphan and the humble, so that man may no longer presume to magnify himself upon the earth.	39 Per render giustizia all'orfano e all'umile, affinchè l'uomo non seguiti a magnificar se stesso sulla terra.
