1 Silver has its fissures where it is first found, and gold has a place where it is melted.	1 Βεβαιως ειναι τοπος του αργυριου οθεν εξαγεται, και τοπος του χρυσιου οπου καθαριζεται?
2 Iron is taken from the earth, and ore, unbound by heat, is turned into brass.	2 ο σιδηρος λαμβανεται εκ της γης και ο χαλκος χυνεται εκ της πετρας.
3 He has established a time for darkness, and he has settled on an end for all things, as well as for the stone that is in the gloom and shadow of death.	3 Βαλλει μεν ο ανθρωπος ορια εις το σκοτος και ανιχνευει τα παντα μεχρι τελειοτητος? τους λιθους του σκοτους και της σκιας του θανατου.
4 The burning separates a pilgrim people from those who have been forgotten by the feet of the destitute man and from the unapproachable.	4 Χειμαρρος εξορμα εκ του τοπου οπου κατοικει? υδατα αδοκιμαστα υπο του ποδος? ταυτα ολιγοστευουσι και αναχωρουσιν απο των ανθρωπων.
5 The land, where bread appeared in its place, has been destroyed by fire.	5 Περι δε της γης, εξ αυτης εξερχεται ο αρτος και υποκατωθεν αυτης ανασκαπτεται ως υπο πυρος?
6 Its stones are embedded with sapphires, and its soil, with gold.	6 οι λιθοι αυτης ειναι τοπος σαπφειρων? και εν αυτη χωμα χρυσιου.
7 The bird does not know its path, nor has the eye of the vulture beheld it.	7 Την οδον εκεινην δεν γνωριζει πτηνον και οφθαλμος γυπος δεν ειδεν αυτην?
8 The sons of merchants have not walked there, nor has the lioness traveled through it.	8 τα θηρια δεν επατησαν αυτην, ο αγριος λεων δεν επερασε δι' αυτης.
9 He has stretched out his hand to the rocks; he has overturned the foundations of the mountains.	9 Εκτεινει την χειρα αυτου επι τον σκληρον βραχον? ανατρεπει τα ορη απο της ριζης.
10 He has cut rivers through the rocks, and his eye has seen all precious things.	10 Εγκοπτει ποταμους μεταξυ των βραχων? και ο οφθαλμος αυτου ανακαλυπτει παν πολυτιμον.
11 The depths of rivers he has also examined, and he has brought hidden things into the light.	11 Δεσμευει των ποταμων την πλημμυραν? και το κεκρυμμενον εκφερει εις φως.
12 But, in truth, where is wisdom to be found, and where is the place of understanding?	12 Αλλ' η σοφια ποθεν θελει ευρεθη; και που ειναι ο τοπος της συνεσεως;
13 Man does not know its price, nor is it found in the land of those who live in sweetness.	13 Ο ανθρωπος δεν γνωριζει την τιμην αυτης? και δεν ευρισκεται εν τη γη των ζωντων.
14 The abyss declares, “It is not in me.” And the sea says, “It is not with me.”	14 Η αβυσσος λεγει, δεν ειναι εν εμοι? και η θαλασσα λεγει, δεν ειναι μετ' εμου.
15 The finest gold will not be paid for it, nor will silver be weighed in exchange for it.	15 Δεν δυναται να δοθη χρυσιον αντ' αυτης? και αργυριον δεν δυναται να ζυγισθη εις ανταλλαγμα αυτης.
16 It will not be compared with the dyed colors of India, nor with the very costly stone sardonyx, nor with the sapphire.	16 Δεν δυναται να εκτιμηθη με το χρυσιον του Οφειρ, με τον πολυτιμον ονυχα και σαπφειρον.
17 Neither gold nor crystal will be its equal; neither will vessels of gold be fitted for it.	17 Το χρυσιον και ο κρυσταλλος δεν δυναται να εξισωθωσι με αυτην? και ανταλλαγμα αυτης να γεινη με σκευη καθαρωτατου χρυσιου.
18 The exalted and the eminent will not be remembered in comparison with it. Yet wisdom is drawn out of concealment.	18 Δεν θελει μνημονευθη κοραλλιον, η μαργαριται? διοτι η τιμη της σοφιας ειναι υπερτερα των πολυτιμων λιθων.
19 The topaz of Ethiopia will not be equal to it, nor will it be compared to the purest dyes.	19 Το τοπαζιον της Αιθιοπιας δεν θελει εξισωθη με αυτην? δεν θελει εκτιμηθη με καθαρον χρυσιον.
20 So then, where does wisdom begin, and where is the place of understanding?	20 Ποθεν λοιπον ερχεται η σοφια; και που ειναι ο τοπος της συνεσεως;
21 It has been hidden from the eyes of all living things, just as the birds of the heavens escape notice.	21 Ειναι βεβαιως κεκρυμμενη απο των οφθαλμων παντων των ζωντων, και εσκεπασμενη απο των πτηνων του ουρανου.
22 Perdition and death have said, “With our ears, we have heard its fame.”	22 Η απωλεια και ο θανατος λεγουσι, Δια των ωτων ημων ηκουσαμεν την φημην αυτης.
23 God understands its way, and he knows its location.	23 Ο Θεος εννοει την οδον αυτης, και αυτος γνωριζει τον τοπον αυτης.
24 For he beholds the limits of the world, and he looks upon all things that are under heaven.	24 Επειδη αυτος θεωρει εως των περατων της γης, βλεπει υποκατω παντος του ουρανου,
25 He created a counterweight for the winds, and he suspended the waters to measure them.	25 δια να ζυγιζη το βαρος των ανεμων, και να σταθμιζη τα υδατα με μετρον.
26 At that time, he gave a law to the rain and a path to the resounding storms.	26 Οτε εκαμε νομον δια την βροχην και οδον δια την αστραπην της βροντης,
27 Then he saw and explained it, and he made ready and examined it.	27 τοτε ειδε και εφανερωσεν αυτην? ητοιμασεν αυτην και μαλιστα εξιχνιασεν αυτην.
28 And he said to man, “Behold the fear of the Lord. Such is wisdom. And to withdraw from evil, this is understanding.”	28 Και ειπε προς τον ανθρωπον, Ιδου, ο φοβος του Κυριου, ουτος ειναι η σοφια, και η αποχη απο του κακου συνεσις.
