Genesis 46

1 And Israel, setting out with all that he had, arrived at the Well of the Oath. And sacrificing victims there to the God of his father Isaac,	1 Israel partió llevándose todos sus bienes. Cuando llegó a Berseba, ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.
2 he heard him, by a vision in the night, calling him, and saying to him: “Jacob, Jacob.” And he answered him, “Behold, here I am.”	2 Dios dijo a Israel en una visión nocturna: «¡Jacob, Jacob!». El respondió: «Aquí estoy».
3 God said to him: “I am the most strong God of your father. Do not be afraid. Descend into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.	3 Dios continuó: «Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre. No tengas miedo de bajar a Egipto, porque allí haré de ti una gran nación.
4 I will descend with you to that place, and I will lead you back from there, returning. Also, Joseph will place his hands over your eyes.	4 Yo bajaré contigo a Egipto, y después yo mismo te haré volver; y las manos de José cerrarán tus ojos».
5 Then Jacob rose up from the Well of the Oath. And his sons took him, with their little ones and wives, in the wagons that Pharaoh had sent to carry the old man,	5 Cuando Jacob salió de Berseba, los hijos de Israel hicieron subir a su padre, junto con sus hijos y sus mujeres, en los carros que el Faraón había enviado para trasladarlos.
6 along with all that he possessed in the land of Canaan. And he arrived in Egypt with all his offspring:	6 Ellos se llevaron también su ganado y las posesiones que habían adquirido en Canaán. Así llegaron a Egipto, Jacob y toda su familia
7 his sons and his grandsons, his daughters and all his progeny together.	7 –sus hijos y sus nietos, sus hijas y sus nietas– porque él había llevado consigo a todos sus descendientes.
8 Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who entered into Egypt, he with his children. The firstborn is Reuben.	8 Los nombres de los hijos de Israel –o sea, Jacob y sus hijos– que emigraron a Egipto son los siguientes: Rubén el primogénito de Jacob,
9 The sons of Reuben: Hanoch and Pallu, and Hezron and Carmi.	9 y los hijos de Rubén: Henoc, Palú, Jesrón y Carmí.
10 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad, and Jachin and Zohar, and Shaul, the son of a Canaanite woman.	10 Los hijos de Simeón: Iemuel, Iamín, Ohad, Iaquín, Sójar y Saúl, el hijo de la cananea.
11 The sons of Levi: Gershon and Kohath, and Merari.	11 Los hijos de Leví: Gersón, Quehat y Merarí.
12 The sons of Judah: Er and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez and Zerah. Now Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And sons were born to Perez: Hezron and Hamul.	12 Los hijos de Judá: Er, Onán, Selá, Peres y Zéraj. Er y Onán ya habían muerto en Canaán, y los hijos de Peres fueron Jesrón y Jamul.

15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore, along with his daughter Dinah, in Mesopotamia of Syria. 19 The sons of Rachel, the wife of Jacob: Joseph and Benjamin.	19 Los hijos de Raquel, la esposa de Jacob: José y Benjamín.
20 And sons were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of Heliopolis, bore for him: Manasseh and Ephraim.	20 En Egipto, José fue padre de Manasés y Efraím, los hijos que le dio Asnat, la hija de Potifera, sacerdote de la ciudad de On.
21 The sons of Benjamin: Bela and Becher, and Ashbel and Gera, and Naaman and Ehi, and Rosh and Moppim, and Huppim and Ard.	21 Los hijos de Benjamín: Belá, Béquer, Asbel, Guerá, Naamán, Ejí, Ros, Mupím, Jupím y Ard.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, whom she bore to Jacob: all these souls are fourteen.	22 Estos son los hijos de Raquel, que le nacieron a Jacob. En total, catorce personas.
23 The sons of Dan: Hushim.	23 El hijo de Dan: Jusím.
24 The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel and Guni, and Jezer and Shillem.	24 Los hijos de Neftalí: Iajsel, Guní, Iéser y Silém.
25 These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel, and these she bore to Jacob: all these souls are seven.	25 Estos son los descendientes de Bilhá, la esclava que Labán había dado a su hija Raquel. De ella le nacieron a Jacob estas siete personas.
26 All the souls who went into Egypt with Jacob and who went out from his thigh, besides the wives of his sons, were sixty-six.	26 Toda la familia de Jacob que emigró a Egipto –sus propios descendientes, sin contar a las mujeres de sus hijos– sumaban un total de sesenta y seis personas,
27 Now the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in the land of Egypt, were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, who went into Egypt, were seventy.	27 incluyendo a José y a los dos hijos que este tuvo en Egipto, toda la familia de Jacob, cuando emigró a Egipto, sumaba un total de setenta personas.
28 Then he sent Judah ahead of himself, to Joseph, in order to report to him, and so that he would meet him in Goshen.	28 Israel hizo que Judá se le adelantara y fuera a ver a José, para anunciarle su llegada a Gosen. Cuando llegaron a la región de Gosen,
29 And when he had arrived there, Joseph harnessed his chariot, and he went up to meet his father at the same place. And seeing him, he fell upon his neck, and, amid embraces, he wept.	29 José hizo enganchar su carruaje y subió hasta allí para encontrarse con su padre Israel. Apenas este apareció ante él, José lo estrechó entre sus brazos, y lloró un largo rato, abrazado a su padre.
30 And the father said to Joseph, “Now I will die happy, because I have seen your face, and I am leaving you behind alive.”	30 Entonces Israel dijo a José: «Ahora sí que puedo morir, porque he vuelto a ver tu rostro y que vives todavía».
31 And he said to his brothers and to all his father’s house: “I will go up and report to Pharaoh, and I will say to him: ‘My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.	31 Después José dijo a sus hermanos y a la familia de su padre: «Yo iré a informar al Faraón y le diré: «Mis hermanos y la familia de mi padre, que antes estaban en Canaán, han venido a reunirse conmigo.
32 And these honorable men are pastors of sheep, and they have the task of feeding the flock. Their cattle, and herds, and all that they were able to hold, they have brought with them.’	32 Ellos son pastores, y ya hace mucho tiempo que se dedican a cuidar el ganado. Ahora han traído sus ovejas, sus vacas y todo lo que poseen».
33 And when he will call you and will say, ‘What is your work?’	33 Por eso, cuando el Faraón los llame y les pregunte de qué se ocupan,
34 You will respond, ‘Your servants are pastors of honor, from our infancy even to the present time, both we and our fathers.’ Now you will say this so that you may be able to live in the land of Goshen, because the Egyptians detest all pastors of sheep.”	34 ustedes responderán: «Tus servidores, desde su juventud hasta ahora, se han dedicado a cuidar el ganado, lo mismo que sus antepasados». Así ustedes podrán establecerse en la región de Gosen, porque los egipcios sienten abominación por todos los pastores».
