1 Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.	1 Questa è la posterità d'Esaù, detto anche Edom.
2 Esau took wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,	2 Esaù delle figlie di Canaan sposò Ada, figlia di Elon Eteo, e Oolibama, figlia di Ana figlia di Sebeon Eveo;
3 and Basemath, the daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebaioth.	3 sposò pure Basemat figlia d'Ismaele e sorella di Nabaiot.
4 Then Adah bore Eliphaz. Basemath conceived Reuel.	4 Ada partorì Elifaz; Basemat generò Rahuel;

Neither was the land of their sojourn able to sustain them, because of the multitude of their flocks.	7 perchè essendo diventati molto ricchi, non potevano stare nel medesimo luogo, e la terra dove eran pellegrini non li poteva sostentare, essendo molto numeroso il bestiame.
8 And Esau lived at mount Seir: he is Edom.	8 Così Esaù, detto Edom, abitò sul monte Seir.
9 So these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, at mount Seir,	9 Questa è la posterità di Esaù, padre degli Idumei, nel monte Seir.
10 and these are the names of his sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah, the wife of Esau, likewise Reuel, the son of Basemath, his wife.	10 E questi sono i nomi dei suoi figlioli: Elifaz, figlio di Ada, moglie di Esaù; Rahuel, figlio di Basemat, moglie di Esaù.
11 And Eliphaz had sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenez.	11 I figli di Elifaz furono: Taman, Omar, Sefo, Gatam, Cenez.
12 Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau. And she bore him Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, the wife of Esau.	12 Tamna, che era la concubina di Elifaz, figlio di Esaù, partorì a Elifaz Amalec. Questi sono i figli di Ada, moglie di Esaù.

These are the sons of Basemath, the wife of Esau.	17 Questi poi sono i figli di Rahuel, figlio di Esaù: il principe Nhat, il principe Zara, il principe Samma, il principe Meza. Questi sono i principi discendenti di Rahuel, nella terra di Edom, e sono i figli di Basemat, moglie di Esaù.
18 Now these are the sons of Oholibamah, the wife of Esau: leader Jeush, leader Jalam, leader Korah. These were the leaders of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah and the wife of Esau.	18 Questi sono i figli di Oolibama moglie di Esaù: il principe Iehus, il principe Ihelon, il principe Core: questi i principi discesi da Oolibama, figlia di Ana, moglie di Esaù.

20 These are the sons of Seir, the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,	20 Questi sono i figli di Seir Orreo, che abitavano in quella terra: Lotan, Sobal, Sebeon, Ana,
21 and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan. These were the leaders of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.	21 Dison, Eser, Disan: questi i principi Orrei, figli di Seir nella terra di Edom.
22 Now Lotan produced sons: Hori and Heman. But the sister of Lotan was Timna.	22 Figli di Lotan furono Ori ed Eman: e sorella di Lotanera Tamna.
23 And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, and Shepho, and Onam.	23 E questi furono i figli di Sobal: Alvan e Manahat, Ebal, Sefo ed Onam.
24 And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, when he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.	24 Questi furono i figli di Sebeon: Aia e Ana. 29 These were the leaders of the Horites: leader Lotan, leader Shobal, leader Zibeon, leader Anah,	29 Questi sono i principi degli Orrei: il principe Lotan, il principe Sobal, il principe Sebeon, il principe Ana,
30 leader Dishon, leader Ezer, leader Disan. These were leaders of the Horites who ruled in the land of Seir.	30 il principe Dison, il principe Eser, il principe Disan. Questi sono i principi degli Orrei che comandarono nella terra di Seir.
31 Now before the sons of Israel had a king, the kings who ruled in the land of Edom were these:	31 Questi sono i re che regnarono nella terra di Edom avanti che i figli d'Israele avessero re:
32 Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.	32 Bela, figlio di Beor, e il nome della sua città fu Denaba.
33 Then Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah from Bozrah, reigned in his place.	33 Morto che fu Bela, regnò in suo luogo Iobab, figlio di Zara, di Bosra.
34 And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.	34 E morto Iobab, regnò in suo luogo Usam, del paese dei Temniti.
35 Likewise, this one having died, Hadad the son of Bedad reigned in his place. He struck down Midian in the region of Moab. 38 And when he also had passed away, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor, succeeded to the kingdom.	38 Saul poi morì e gli succedette nel regno Balanan, figlio di Acobor.
39 Likewise, this one being dead, Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau. And his wife was called Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.	39 Morto anche questo, regnò in suo luogo Adar; la sua città si chiamava Fau; la sua moglie si chiamava Meetabel, figlia di Matred, figlia di Mezaab.
40 Therefore, these were the names of the leaders of Esau, by their families, and places, and in their vocabulary: leader Timna, leader Alvah, leader Jetheth,	40 Questi poi sono i nomi dei principi di Esaù, secondo le loro stirpi, i loro luoghi e i loro nomi: il principe Tamna, il principe Alva, il principe Ietet,
41 leader Oholibamah, leader Elah, leader Pinon,	41 il principe Oolibama, il principe Eia, il principe Finon,
42 leader Kanez, leader Teman, leader Mibzar,	42 il principe Cenez, il principe Teman,il principe Mahsar,
43 leader Magdiel, leader Iram. These were the leaders of Edom living in the land of their rule: this is Esau, the father of Idumea.	43 il principe Magdiel, il principe d'Iram. Questi sono i principi di Edom che abitaron nella terra del loro dominio: questo è Esaù, padre degli Idumei.
