1 Rid yourselves, then, of al spite, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and carping criticism.	1 Итак, отложив всякую злобу и всякое коварство, и лицемерие, и зависть, и всякое злословие,
2 Like new-born babies al your longing should be for milk -- the unadulterated spiritual milk -- which willhelp you to grow up to salvation,	2 как новорожденные младенцы, возлюбите чистое словесное молоко, дабы от него возрасти вам во спасение;
3 at any rate if you have tasted that the Lord is good .	3 ибо вы вкусили, что благ Господь.
4 He is the living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen by God and precious to him; set yourselvesclose to him	4 Приступая к Нему, камню живому, человеками отверженному, но Богом избранному, драгоценному,
5 so that you, too, may be living stones making a spiritual house as a holy priesthood to offer the spiritualsacrifices made acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.	5 и сами, как живые камни, устрояйте из себя дом духовный, священство святое, чтобы приносить духовные жертвы, благоприятные Богу Иисусом Христом.
6 As scripture says: Now I am laying a stone in Zion, a chosen, precious cornerstone and no one whorelies on this wil be brought to disgrace.	6 Ибо сказано в Писании: вот, Я полагаю в Сионе камень краеугольный, избранный, драгоценный; и верующий в Него не постыдится.
7 To you believers it brings honour. But for unbelievers, it is rather a stone which the builders rejectedthat became a cornerstone,	7 Итак Он для вас, верующих, драгоценность, а для неверующих камень, который отвергли строители, но который сделался главою угла, камень претыкания и камень соблазна,
8 a stumbling stone, a rock to trip people up. They stumble over it because they do not believe in theWord; it was the fate in store for them.	8 о который они претыкаются, не покоряясь слову, на что они и оставлены.
9 But you are a chosen race, a kingdom of priests, a holy nation, a people to be a personal possession tosing the praises of God who cal ed you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.	9 Но вы--род избранный, царственное священство, народ святой, люди, взятые в удел, дабы возвещать совершенства Призвавшего вас из тьмы в чудный Свой свет;
10 Once you were a non-people and now you are the People of God; once you were outside his pity; nowyou have received pity.	10 некогда не народ, а ныне народ Божий; [некогда] непомилованные, а ныне помилованы.
11 I urge you, my dear friends, as strangers and nomads, to keep yourselves free from the disorderednatural inclinations that attack the soul.	11 Возлюбленные! прошу вас, как пришельцев и странников, удаляться от плотских похотей, восстающих на душу,
12 Always behave honourably among gentiles so that they can see for themselves what moral lives youlead, and when the day of reckoning comes, give thanks to God for the things which now make them denounceyou as criminals.	12 и провождать добродетельную жизнь между язычниками, дабы они за то, за что злословят вас, как злодеев, увидя добрые дела ваши, прославили Бога в день посещения.
13 For the sake of the Lord, accept the authority of every human institution: the emperor, as the supremeauthority,	13 Итак будьте покорны всякому человеческому начальству, для Господа: царю ли, как верховной власти,
14 and the governors as commissioned by him to punish criminals and praise those who do good.	14 правителям ли, как от него посылаемым для наказания преступников и для поощрения делающих добро, --
15 It is God's will that by your good deeds you should silence the ignorant talk of fools.	15 ибо такова есть воля Божия, чтобы мы, делая добро, заграждали уста невежеству безумных людей, --
16 You are slaves of no one except God, so behave like free people, and never use your freedom as acover for wickedness.	16 как свободные, не как употребляющие свободу для прикрытия зла, но как рабы Божии.
17 Have respect for everyone and love for your fel ow-believers; fear God and honour the emperor.	17 Всех почитайте, братство любите, Бога бойтесь, царя чтите.
18 Slaves, you should obey your masters respectful y, not only those who are kind and reasonable butalso those who are difficult to please.	18 Слуги, со всяким страхом повинуйтесь господам, не только добрым и кротким, но и суровым.
19 You see, there is merit if, in awareness of God, you put up with the pains of undeserved punishment;	19 Ибо то угодно Богу, если кто, помышляя о Боге, переносит скорби, страдая несправедливо.
20 but what glory is there in putting up with a beating after you have done something wrong? The merit inthe sight of God is in putting up with it patiently when you are punished for doing your duty.	20 Ибо что за похвала, если вы терпите, когда вас бьют за проступки? Но если, делая добро и страдая, терпите, это угодно Богу.
21 This, in fact, is what you were called to do, because Christ suffered for you and left an example for youto fol ow in his steps.	21 Ибо вы к тому призваны, потому что и Христос пострадал за нас, оставив нам пример, дабы мы шли по следам Его.
22 He had done nothing wrong, and had spoken no deceit.	22 Он не сделал никакого греха, и не было лести в устах Его.
23 He was insulted and did not retaliate with insults; when he was suffering he made no threats but puthis trust in the upright judge.	23 Будучи злословим, Он не злословил взаимно; страдая, не угрожал, но предавал то Судии Праведному.
24 He was bearing our sins in his own body on the cross, so that we might die to our sins and live foruprightness; through his bruises you have been healed.	24 Он грехи наши Сам вознес телом Своим на древо, дабы мы, избавившись от грехов, жили для правды: ранами Его вы исцелились.
25 You had gone astray like sheep but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of yoursouls.	25 Ибо вы были, как овцы блуждающие (не имея пастыря), но возвратились ныне к Пастырю и Блюстителю душ ваших.
